======================================

Everyone knows about the hippies' 'Bowling Moms' t shirts, but does anyone know if any other teams have paid tribute to past racers in any way?

I noticed earlier on that Vipul in Season 10 and Eric in Season 11 both wore the blue 'COLEGE' t-shirt. Does anyone know the story behind this one?

Also from the previews from the start line of season 18, I notice that a certain team are wearing t-shirts with a direct reference to another team on the same race! (no spoilers here)

Are there any other references to past racers?

David & Mary wore 'LOST' T-shirts in reference to the Cho Bros in All-Stars(I believe they wore it in Leg 2.)

Slightly OT: Erwin & Godwin wore T-Shirts with Phil's face in the India leg in Season 10.

Hi all,

Just wondered how many really unusual eliminations there have ever been. I know Phil walked out to meet Marshall and Lance after they gave up during the Roadblock, has he had to do this with anyone else?

What about times where it hasn't been possible for Phil to eliminate a team? And are Team Guido the only final 3 team to never make it to the finish line?

Phil walked out to eliminate Maria and Tiffany in TAR 15.

And are Team Guido the only final 3 team to never make it to the finish line?

They were the first final three team to not make the finish line.

The two most striking unusual eliminations I can think of were Toni & Dallas on the streets of Moscow in TAR13, and Dana & Adrian in Leg 1 of TAR16 after Adrian failed the Roadblock twice.

Also, Jeff & Dave in TAR4 made the final 3 but did not reach the finish line.

They were the first final three team to not make the finish line.

They were the "first" Final 3 Team, period.

Phil had to go out in the field to eliminate Lena/Kristy in TAR6.

Has anyone noticed any errors in post production during a particular episode? I've seen almost all the seasons, and never noticed any glaring mistakes, but just noticed two in subsequent episodes. At the start of the Leg 2 of Season 10, Tom & Terry are labelled as leaving at 7:02 PM, when in actual fact, it was probably supposed to be 10:02 PM if the other start times are assumed to be correct.

In the next episode, on leaving the detour, Peter and Sarah are labelled as currently being in 1st place, when actually, about 3 teams have already checked into the pitstop. I know these are easy to miss, but I wonder how many copywriters have to look these over before being aired!

Has anyone else noticed any spelling mistakes or other errors in the show?

Conspiracy theories state that TAR did not allow Dustin and Kandice to win the All Stars because their safe was faulty.

The CBS TAR site is usually quite faulty.

TAR clearly messed up the TAR 17 leg 6 Detour, which is why they non-eliminated Nick and Vicki without Speed Bumping them.

One other unusual elimination was Maria/Tiffany at the Netherlands Detour in TAR 15.

No, prophet. Post-production == editing. Not the stuff you said (which are faults during the race).

An overlooked mistake was also visible during the Poker Chip task in S15. It showed RB when it is in fact a Route Info.

There have been a few instances, particularly in the more recent seasons of Camera & Sound men being in the shot. Usually its not for very long though. The only really glaring issue I've ever found is Kelly & Christy being visible in the background, watching Andrew and Dan complete their speed bump three legs after they were eliminated

There was one time in TAR4 where instead of the usual title for Jon & Al:

JON & AL
Best Friends/Clowns

...they displayed:

Jon & Al
Best Friends/Clowns

Basically, they just put Jon and Al's names in non-capslocked type. Nothing major. It just looked weird. (I know, it's nothing much, but it's all I can specifically remember.)

Hmm.. It is not really a "mistake", but sometimes they show a team boarding a flight and they show scenes from a different flight.

Like for example, Dustin & Kandice boarded a plane in Zanzibar to head to Poland, and the next clip of them waiting to put their luggage in the overhead comapartment was on another plane at Frankfurt wearing their blue jackets when in fact they were'nt wearing them before(when they were entering).

This was probably one of the many plane "mistakes".

The only instance where editing left viewers confused was that piano task in TAR 17. While the problem was discovered and dealt with during filming at the time, the editing required CBS to issue a press release because of the confusion that was created. That's about as close to a post-production issue as I can think of. (And had they following the editing practices of the early seasons, they would have acknowledged it and the confusion would not have happened. The only other one was the Maria-Tiffany elimination which wasn't fully explained on air and I suspect to this day probably remains a source of confusion.

AmazingRace, the "substitution" of filmed takeoffs and landings has been a common practice on TAR since the early days.  I don't view it as a istake, but rather using the visually available footage for telling the story.

In TAR 16 ep6 in France the pit stop was at L'ORCCA in Reims
On screen it showed L'ORRCA...

Somewhere in the same episode I think they spelled Reims incorrectly - but I can't find it now.

What  they misspelled was "L'ORRCA."  It should be L'ORCCA I remember searching the heck for L'ORRCA and all that kept coming up were whale sites......lol

You can even see it spelled correctly in the same shot! In the bottom left..

Hi all,

Been wondering this for a while.. Do the camera crew have to get every single person in shot's permission to broadcast their face? Or is it only if they speak? Its very rare we ever see a blurry face, so I assume this is when the person has requested to be blurred. But I've also heard stories of people having to sign release forms to be on TV. What's the procedure here?

I would guess that the person has to be shown up close to where they could be identified in order to require a waiver. Crowd shots obviously don't apply. I don't think someone has to request to be blurred though, that is the default.

Also, if i recall correctly, in season 15 episode 4, when Brian and Ericka got their clue after finishing the detour at Ski Dubai, the bottom caption read: Meghan and Cheyne, Currently in 2nd Place  :lol3:

Needing or asking for a release is a complicated issue. For in depth information: http://www.danheller.com/model-release.html#4 is a good place to start.

My favorite racer nod (it isn't in clothing), was in the very first episode of TAR 4, and it was said by Chris (Of Amanda & Chris, and why I will forever love this team).

They have just completed the detour and teams must now walk back up to the skylift area (and by all accounts it wears everyone out), Amanda is dragging behind Chris and Chris turns around and says, "Come on "Flo".

The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move
