Has the race (US version) ever had an Asian couple team?
Dating, married or otherwise...
I know they've had family (Ron & Chris, Tammy & Victor) and friends (Pam & Winnie) but what about love and romance?

Joe/Heidi from Tar16
And Vipul & Arti - Indian is Southwest Asian.

Actually, India is Southern Asia. Southwest Asia is more of the Middle East, also called Western Asia.

Aah, okay. I usually classify world regions in general cardinal directions and its easily known regions (Middle East, Polynesia, Australia/New Zealand, etc.)

Anyone noticed in TAR 24 Leg 3 when Joey&Meghan lost their taxi in Malaysia, flashbacked to Season 22 in Switzerland, but instead, the text showed Season 18 instead of 22 (Sorry, bad engrish  :funny: first post  :funny:)

I, too, noticed that. I started having a mini tantrum  :funny: and yelling at the editors.

I know that this has been asked millions of times but, can anyone tell me if
1. eliminated racers get consolation prizes or something?
2. Do eliminated teams travel with production
3. How much is the gaps in between legs?

1. The only teams that get any prizes are the teams that win a leg, and the final overall winners.  I do believe however that all teams are compensated for the work they miss.  Please correct me if I'm wrong on that someone?

2. No, all eliminated teams, except 4th & 5th place, go to a sequestered location, and stay there with each other until they are called to go to the finish line.  CBS used to air short videos called the Elimination Station which showed the teams at this location, but for some reason stopped it. Probably due to budget.   :groan:

3.  Normally the Pitstops last 12 hours, but it can vary based on different things.  A big one would be if there are very few flights to the next Country, there would be an extended Pitstop to avoid teams from "loitering" around the Airport.  There's quite a few factors that affect the length of a Pitstop but I'm not 100% on them all.

I'm sure someone else on here with a bit more knowledge than myself can give you more insight.
Hope this helps anyway.   :wise

That's quite a bit.  I'd be happy with that, and it eases the pain of not winning too.
It's pretty nice knowing that all the teams get at least something for their time on the race.  Even if they're only there for a few legs.

One other correction: the 12-hour pit stop is no longer even standard or approximate. It hasn't been mentioned in a number of seasons, and the check in times (approximately estimated by the sunlight shadow method) and departure times bear this out.

If every placement gets an undisclosed amount, how much pay do 12th place teams supposedly receive?

(It makes me somewhat mad that Jonathan & Victoria and Nate & Jen probably got money for fighting and shoving each other. :barf)

Has teams on earlier seasons used a (now defunct) airline like Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Trans World Airlines?

I've definitely seen Northwest and Continental, I think.

Question that may already have been asked: are most teams recruited or they all actually apply? Curious if I can apply for a future season.

I think you need to apply to show interest in joining. But being interesting and a bit famous would speed your application. But you should always try to apply. :) Good luck!! :waves:

There's TARCon which is organized by fans every year (?) after the February-May season (?), and they invite racers to join. Some racers also make reunion parties at the finale, like what Jason & Amy did.

Greeters are hired by production, so they probably get paid. Audition I don't think so, but how they choose them is a mystery to me.

TARcon was held after every season, until season 23. I don't know if one was held after season 24, as the site's home location online (the forums at televisionwithoutpity.com) was closed by Bravo a few months ago, and I've not seen anything about subsequent events.

Racers do have their own group, and have been known to plan events for the start or the end of various seasons. These are private events, and generally aren't open to others except by invite. CBS has in the past at least invited the final three teams to either New York or L.A. for the finale, and to appear on a CBS show for the check presentation to the winner, but again, that doesn't seem to be happening these days.

Something to keep in mind, while TPTB did organize a tenth anniversary event in 2011-12, that was unusual for them, as there are now approximately 500 living Racers! Even a Racer get together now becomes a major production.
