No. 1 appears to be the famous floating torii at Itsukushima Shrine, in Hiroshima prefecture.  A bit out of the way, but makes for a pretty shot for television.   :colors

No, 2 & 3, as predicted, the Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū in Kamakura (stairway to Senior Shrine).

It's official: CBS is trying to destroy mswood and joab's prediction games.  :lol3:
We already know for 6 of the teams what detour they chose and also 5 of those who do the roadblock.
I can't remember them giving so much information in TAR 17
Joab's TARA- Kiki & Co-racer. Hitting the BlackJack tables in Macau

It looks like they were about a mile away when the car owner and police caught up with them (viewpoint).

The shrine! I had forgotten about that. Racers were spotted there around 1:30 p.m. and the shrine has connections to the Takeda school that Peach found. I can't find any indoor pictures, but maybe the archery is in one of the buildings. (viewpoint)

Those two teams are pretty close together. I wonder if that Detour choice will end up being the easier one since it may not take as long. Usually ritual detour choices are more frustrating but more straight forward. Searching is more variable it can be quick or take forever. Many teams lean towards searching because they can control it and sometimes that is a good choice sometimes not.

Thanks, Kandace. It's the Yuhi waterfall; compare the rocks in the cap to the photo (source). Saying the water is from Fujiyama might be a stretch, though.

It doesn't look like Zev is having fun. Did he say they had to eat the frog's legs when they found it or was that a joke?

Some good shots of the sun for Chateau! If they land about 6:30AM and drive to the RB and then to the Detour this clip should be about midday right?

Are Gary and Mallory in the wrong pit? Zev and Justin both had red headbands, and so did all the mud-throwers around them. Were they supposed to find a pit based on the color of the headband?

Never mind, ignore my last comment, Jet/Cord have orange headbands, while the man has a red one, just thought it was odd...

I think it has to do with their team color Coolio! There is probably only one pit.

Don't forget that the colors of the Japanese flag are red and white, so having all the locals wearing a red headband would make sense.

Maybe the task was that they had to catch a frog in the mud pit and eat the frog's leg....But I don't think that it is possible since...Can you find frogs in mud?

The description on the photos said, "search for a buried frog," so I'm sure it is probably a ceramic or wooden frog.

Suggesting that they would eat the frog's legs is typical of Zev's humor.  Remember the joke about Steakhouses in the Outback?  He has a very dry sense of humor.
