when phil says "get another chance", it's showing the same location used in 15? where the team was eliminated at the starting line.  Maybe another starting line elimination.  Although it did suck for that one team (forgot their names) it would be perfect for an "all-stars".  Which teams want to race bad enough!!!

I was surprised by the amount of TAR 14 and TAR 17 racers that will participate in TAR 18.  I don't know the criteria of CBS's selection, but of course they have their reasons.  But I will say that I "LOVE"   the name "UNFINISHED BUSINESS".  Who ever thought of this moniker needs a raise!  The name itself generates interest.  Kudos to the genius!!!!!!!!!

That one finish mat with Phil (7 to 9?) is that from an earlier season or this season?  If so, there may be some more sluething to do.

Kynt/Vyxsin shot- Ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. 2nd Ferry (Late morning/Early Afternoon)

Jet/Cord shot- Inside Oceanworld. As suspected it appears to be a task involving sharks. (Early Afternoon)

Jamie/Cara shot- Manly Yacht Club, sailing task. (Early to mid Afternoon)

They took the ferry to Manly meaning they COULD have stopped off at Lavender Bay as reported my own of my associates.

Many of these shots are from the racers'previous season. But the others are new. Coutzy...you can use the little # at the bottom right corner of each cap to reference the ones you mean, if you want...

I love having our own personal field producer.

If they did, it wasn't on the way to Manly.

ETA: And K/V didn't stop there on the way back. So unless a team was on the wrong ferry or got lost, it shouldn't have happened.

White Spoiler text below, not sure if its appropriate for this section:

Perhaps Jet and Cord got on the wrong ferry. This may explain why they ended up so far behind even though the path from the airport to Manly Oceanworld is very linear. Remember, the 8 trailing teams were all on the same flight into Sydney.

In everything I saw, teams never crossed over into the mainland side of the harbour bridge. There is a small window where teams may have.

As far as the yachts go, teams boarded from Manly Cove and took water taxis from Circular Quay and Manly Cove. None of the locations mentioned had any direct involvement that I saw.

We passed Shark Island and Clark Island between the quay and Manly. They are tiny spots of land in Sydney Harbour. We never went under the bridge directly. Rushcutters Bay, The Darling Harbour and Lavender Bay never had anything with boats done (On this edition, at least- Did TARA come to Sydney at any point?)

Okay. The Rocks is the first place teams went after they got into Sydney.

After getting off the train at Circular Quay, G/M, A/K and K/J ran along the rocks to the end. After getting their clue there (I never saw a cluebox or heard them talking about the clue in particular.) Teams ran straight back to Circular Quay and immediately got on the ferry to Manly, where they went straight to Oceanworld. Based on the next teams arriving on the very next ferry, I find the Lavendar Bay scenario very unlikely.

For full details, see http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,23631.msg575567.html#msg575567

But based on the timings, Lavender Bay seems nigh on impossible because between 11 and 1, all teams were heading to Manly, or doing the (suspected) Roadblock in Manly. After Oceanworld, teams did not leave Manly until they checked in at the faux Pit Stop.

No no...those locations that I mention are ones used by an amazing race style corporate team building event...see the link. I was just trying to figure out where Lavencder Bay could have entered the picture.

And yes...TARA 4 did go toSydney:

From the TARA 4 Timeline:

Quote
Australia

Tuesday June 22 - Friday June 25

Travel: to Circular Quay.(1)

Task: Find a man with a brolly.(1)

Travel: to the ANZ Stadium.(2)

Task: Speculated to be a task involving the outdoor Trapeze.(3)

Travel: from Sydney, Australia to Brisbane, Australia.(5)

The Kangaroo task is definitely in Broken Hill..I think with this nice GE and the two roads additionally named in spoilers they must have hopped quite a ways. The confessional shot of the Cowboys would def also be Broken Hill, and he is commenting on the Manly segment, which would also re-confirm a TBC.

I was given info that strongly suggested we have 2 legs for the Aussie portion. Whether that will all happen on one night?? I don't know... but I think the first leg alone would be enough for a 90 minute premiere...

I think the fact that the promos are coming from the Broken Hills segment of the uberleg (or TBC leg, if you insist) serves to confirm that there is no elimination in Sydney, and provides no clue based on the promos on which team is eliminated first. So we are getting confirmation of what we already knew, and the fact the first episode has no elimination gives the promo monkeys much more to play with in advance of the premiere.

I'm still bummed by the fact that they're just focusing on Margie and Luke, Cowboys, Cheerleaders, Goths and Globetrotters in most of the previews. We see some footage of Mel and Mike, Gary and Mallory.. but hardly see Amanda and Kris, Zev and Justin, Kisha and Jen and Ron and Chris...??

Makes me wonder again why they even picked Amanda and Kris and Zev and Justin again. :( Realized i haven't got over the fact that no TAR 13 teams were picked.

look back at the spoilers and remember which team was last before the "pit stop" at the beach. A team can fall way behind regardless of their skills.

Pretty funny dialogue between Jamie and Cara in the #2 promo....lol

haha yeah,
Cara "No more mister nice guy"
Jaime: "I was never nice to begin with"  :lol3:
:lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: I find them to be the funniest of the lot! Great team, probably my favorite in the cast, although I love most of them.
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥

If I remember correctly the kangaroo task is in Broken Hill. Does this mean we are seeing the outback leg in episode one?

The Kangaroo task is definitely in Broken Hill..I think with this nice GE and the two roads additionally named in spoilers they must have hopped quite a ways. The confessional shot of the Cowboys would def also be Broken Hill, and he is commenting on the Manly segment, which would also re-confirm a TBC.

I was given info that strongly suggested we have 2 legs for the Aussie portion. Whether that will all happen on one night?? I don't know... but I think the first leg alone would be enough for a 90 minute premiere...

Remember also the promos for TAR16 showed teams doing the Condor option of the Leg 2 Detour, which occurred after a Leg 1 elimination. So I don't think we can say for sure based solely off these promos whether or not we'll see two legs (or one super-leg, as it were) all within one episode, since two seasons ago we saw the same thing and it ended up being two episodes.

That could very well be the episode title for that leg.

One thing I noticed that hasn't been mentioned.

Have teams ever driven themselves to the start line before? That does seem to be a first.

My thought was BIG BUS from LA to the Windmills.

Dune buggy drive...then trudge to Phil....

Or is the trudge up the hill on the way to the dune buggies?? ???

But hmmmm...you may be right! I am not a historian but I can't think of any self drives to the start! :jumpy:

I think the dune buggies are after they find the Qantas message, get their ticket from Phil and then drive the dune buggies to whereever the cars are parked.

Cars could be parked 1) back near US62 on the east end of that wind farm or 2) just west of the wind farm across Whitewater Canyon at that sand and gravel business parking lot.

I don't think thats the case. In the first previews a lot of the teams (Most noticably Jamie and Cara) waved to the camera before/after driving. Not exactly in-race behaviour.

EDIT: Also- No backpacks.
