T2 and Jetstar reduces flight options to just JQ 171 to Christchurch and JQ 35 to Denpasar Bali.

Im going with Christchurch as Air New Zealand has a flight 25 mins after the Jetstar one. Also less costly to fly 11 teams to NZ, also Indonesia is still a little risky as a destination. I don't think this would be a connecting flight since Jetstar are classed as a budget plane and not a "connecting" type of airline.

Makes sense to me. Those will be some expensive airline tickets.
I bet you're right about Christchurch. What do you mean Indonesia is risk ?

  • Is it really that time again?
Assuming they departed on time, teams should arrive in Denpassar at 9:55 PM tonight.

Anybody in Bali not doing anything tonight? :lol3:

They're going Budget on the first leg with Jetstar?

Okay, after Bali possible locations could only be going upwards to other Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand or Philippines.

11 choppers for 11 teams? They could have done 6 choppers and save the money for other race plans!!!

Well I will be at Sydney International on the 23 Nov and 11 Dec so I will keep an eye out!! So exciting!

Was the seven bags picture taken before or after the clue-boxes picture?

SPECULATION: Could the teams have arrived by helicopter, done a task and then progressively left explaining the absence of 4 bags?

But I believe she doesn't have access to RFF right now (except her mobile phone). Let's hope she reads it -- in time of course.

I've sent a few tweets to people who's foursquare says they're at the airport - no response yet.

Excellent! Try to go during the same time frame so you hit the same shifts.

Why are there only 7 team packs? ???

We are expecting a departure any second, but that looks funny...Why 7 packs?

Packs are normally at the starting line and then on the racers' backs...seems funny??
Could be less teams for Oz version? There are 7 cars clearly visible but if you look on the right, seems to be another car behind it... making it at least 8 cars.

I see 9 cars on this picture. A car is visible in the left side of the photo (a small part). In my opinion, I think that some packs are missing in this picture because the starting line is not ready.

Sory for my bad english!

Bali is like what Cancun, Mexico is like for the Americans. There are heaps of Australian tourists there so they should be plenty of Tweets.

Nothing from Bali yet? I can't find any tweets only one in Indonesian that there "is a rumour race is in Bali". Surely someone would have spoted them by now? Unless all the Aussie tourists are too drunk to tweet right now.

I've been searching every hour or so for the past two days. Got nothing. On a side note: It seems that The Amazing Race Asia screens 24/7 with all the tweets about people who seem to be watching it.

Hi :waves:
I'm another newbee.

Just a thought, if the contestants haven't been spotted in Bali, they may have headed over to one of the Gili Islands?
Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno or Gili Air.

Two different modes of transport available - either by flying to Lombok and then travel by car followed by a short boat trip (first flight out each day from Bali is around 9.00 am), flight takes around 15 mins.  The alternative is by one of the fast boats, the first of many boats leave around 8.00 am via Lombok and the trip is just over 2 hours.
