Regarding the mosque --  There was a mosque in Morocco that served as the site for a clue box; no tasks were performed there but the Racers did not enter the Mosque itself, just the outer courtyard. Both male and female Racers had to make sure they were respectfully dressed (head scarfs for the women as I recall) for that locale.

If a mosque turns up again as a place the Racers are directed to, I doubt it will be anything more that a clue box for a route marker clue.

This is my guess.......

Jill and Thomas are being driving to the top of that cliff for the rapell in a picup it seems. They drive their car to the rigging point and/or RB cluebox.........when Jill gets all rigged up, they are driven to the top of the cliff....Jill starts rapell down...Thomas rides back down in truck. When finished, they get in car and leave.

Check out Kat's harness. ^

I suspect that at some point racers change from driving themselves to having a driver take over.  They did something similar a few seasons ago; they got a driver to drive them across sand dunes.

When Gary and Mallory are lost they are driving themselves. As I already mentioned they are at the park before it opens, as are probably everyone else. This makes it seem like to me that they are headed to either the detour or a transitional Route Info stop.

I wonder if they are looking for the grand mosque in order to get a clue from somewhere around it. Since they appear to be near the Al lawatabi maybe they got their mosques crossed up. These two are pretty far apart and that would be a bad mistake.

It looks more like an SUV but that doesn't matter.
What do you think Nick and Vicki are doing?

For what it's worth, I am quite sure from comparing multiple shots, that the teams are driving Toyota Landcruisers. It looks like Jill and Thomas and Nick and Vicki could be in the back of that.

Looks like this might be another opportunity for Vicki to do a roadblock since she is falling behind in keeping the count even.  (Haven't seen any promos yet with her doing it but it seems reasonable.)

AND Kat get gets to save Nat from heights!

Yeah, she's the only racer who has only done two. If each racer can only do six then he can only do one more. The rest of the teams have been taking turns.

The fort at Nizwa was the pit stop in TAR9.
It was also a stop that was part of Amazing Race Asia 3, episode 10.

Here is a GE of the Muttah area with salient places marked. Well the pic is too small...I will resize it and repost.

Here are the TAR9 Waypoints. Start at the Airport in center top and go clockwise till you get back to the airport.

Jill is wearing a harness that we see in the rappelling task.

ergo...they are either on their way TO the task or returning FROM the task.

Yep. From the look on fheir faces....I would say coming back. Vicki's face on the other hand looks like going to the rapell

I saw a promo during "The Talk" (approx. 1:40pm, CST) showing Chad proposing to Stephanie. :hearts:

This could be a minor spolier, but on CTV (Canadian televison network that shows the show) had a promo in which it stated a team WILL be eliminated at the end of this leg.

I kind of suspected it.  Right now, my guess is that Gary & Mallory get the boot, although it could be Chad & Stephanie.

I can't imagine a proposal if it wasn't following an elimination.
As far as the snoring goes, they probably spliced in Nick's snoring from the train. :zzz

Maybe, it's the other way around. Picture this:
Chad proposes.
Stephanie:

Then Chad gets his heart broken and there is an awkward dynamic during the rest of the leg in such a way that leads to their elimination.
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Dånooky, that would be funny and actually add a very interesting flavor. You have to admit that most of us want to see Chad get that response. It would be one of the more interesting legs if that happened at the beginning.

Slowhatch, have we considered the possibility that Riyam park is the Pit Stop? Why is that impossible?

I am not slowhatch, but it seems as though teams are waiting in the Park for their HOO before climbing the WatchTower. It would be unusual for them to get a clue or start a task and then return there for a PitStop.

Maybe somewhere near the RB? Or back to someplace like the Incense Burner? :duno:

I know, it does seem that way, especially since it looks like early morning. Several people have expressed their surprise that he would do so before the elimination though.

Maybe the facts back up Danooky's idea.  :grins:

Why would you think most would want to see that?  Seriously, is something wrong with people.

I would only wish happiness for Chad and Stephanie.

I know VERY well that what you see on TV does not always reflect who racers are in life. Editing is a very powerful tool.
