I think RSF is talking abt Survivor. Survivor: Nicaragua is currently using Survivor: Borneo's (Season 1) intro.
The Amazing Race TV Stars- Marc and Rovilson (Currently 1st)
Victor\'s Amazing Race- Mooyou and Jerseydude (Currently 5th)
RFF Amazing Race Season 2- Redskevin88 & Jerseydude (Eliminated 4th)
Mooyou\'s Amazing Race- Tammy and Victor (Finished 2nd Place )

Trivia: during both the intro and the main episode you can see a crop circle while the camera is "ramping" towards Stonehenge.

Well, you know the magic of the Intro screencaps is gone for good when we don't do them the second they are out.

Thanks to gabrielhan for the video...

We know that starting with Season 14 the magic and charm of the caps disappeared for good, the fun of puzzling these out was gone as they used and re-used old caps. It turns out that the Into caps were Bill Pruitt's baby...and when he left TAR, so did the fun.

Anyway here they are, 98% are recycled, but there may be a couple of new ones.

The best summary is here from TAR 14...I will start a master list that we can copy and update as needed...maybe someone can match these with all the ID'd ones we know, mostly summarized in the TAR 14 thread.

The ones I am not sure of being new or may definitelybe  new are 3, 5>6>7, 11>12>13>14 (Stonehenge), 35>36, 44, 58 (Eastnor). Pretty sure the rest are all recycled.

There is a new element in the intro immeadiately after the CGI-isn shot of the passenger jet.   I have no idea what it is, and it wasn't included in the vidcaps of the TAR 17 intro.

Thanks squished plums and :bigwelcome !!

Looks like a match to me! If anyone has the TAR Intro handy, I can look to see if it was there, but I don't recall this shot, but will defer to the experts!! Here is hoping for a "new" screencap!

I deleted most of the recurrent jet shots but will relook tonight...what is CGI-isn please? ???

That tunnel like shot might be new?

The red ones are ones I am not sure about if they are new or not.

If someone could go thru that TAR14 link and add the ones we identified already to our list, we would have a nice master list for future races. I just don't have much time this week...

It is possible they are new. If, as Neobie has proposed, TAR17 made a short leg west of Stockholm into Norway.....obvious possibilities. Could they be stock footage from TAR2 South Island, New Zealand or TAR11 Terra de Fuego/Straits of Magellan, Chile? That surface geomorpholoy just doesn't exist in that many places on the planet Earth.

Thanks TarJunkie! Thanks Evan for the Intros!  Thanks slowhatch!!

I am away with limited time to look...but I don't see the fjord in these caps which is the last real summary we have:

TAR 14 Intro caps:  http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,18413.0.html

This is the best place to look for recycled ones I think! or check our season 13 caps too...

It could certainly be Irish. At the time I thought it was English. The reason I remember it as French is I was quite surprised when it was identified. It just didnt look "French" to me. I am doing some google images searches and hopefully it will show up again.

I got tired of looking for the Intro Screencaps for 15 and 16......spent about 2 hours looking in archieves.....gave up.

These three photos, to me,

are this place in Google Earth in Muttah, Muscat, Oman. They were built by the Portuguese.
Well I cant get the pic to show, so I will email it to Peach and let her edit this post.
Google Earth coordinates are 23o37'29.03"N, 58o34'43.78"

Portuguese Watch Tower in Muttah/Matrah

Can we take another look at this and see if we can say this is Oman for sure? Dr Rox seems to have it...are we all in agreement??

I believe this is a new cap, so  this combined with our sighting, apskip's great flight info saying Oman as transit is unlikely, AND a new cap, seems as though we would be safe calling Oman as a leg, right??

Can we get some other views to help confirm this 100%??

The place that I identified, is very close pretty far from the Muscat Airport. Then again, Muscat proper is pretty far from the airport. The airport is long way from "downtown" due to the local topography there. I have a GE shot of the area and will add it, when I can capture it.

I will pull out my DVD for Season 9 and check it out. I do think I had seen that location before. I didn't think it was new for this season.

I watched my DVD for the Oman Leg in TAR9. When they flew from Athens to Oman, their first clue was in Riyam Park in Muttah. They had to go to the Giant Insense Burner for route info to the detour. The Portuguese watch tower in my photo above is also in Riyam Park in Muttah. Muttah is a section of Muscat, I guess. When they got the clue, they had to drive about 150 miles down the coast to Sur, Oman. That was the location of the detours. One of the detours was to deliver the camel out in the desert. The other was to pick one of three watchtowers across the bay and find a silver message "bottle."  Watchtowers are sort of a national symbol for Oman. In modern times, they seem to build them everywhere.

Whether the current screencap was from the TAR9 Intro screencaps or from TAR 17, I do not know. When I find a new capture program, I will try and get all the intro screencaps from TAR9 and compare.

Here is a picture of the Giant Insense Burner and the watchtower I think is in that screencap.

Dr. Rox,

I think i have the missing link on the question of where Muttah is. I have searched hard to find it without success. However, I have found Muttrah:

Muttrah, (Arabic: مطرح‎) population 650,000, is a city located in the Muscat province of Oman. Before the discovery of oil, Muttrah was the center of commerce in Oman. It is still a center of commerce as one of largest sea ports of the region is located there. Other landmarks include Souq Muttrah, a traditional bazaar and Sour Al-Lawatiah, a small community of houses surrounded by an old wall.

apskip,

I had no problem finding where it is located. I just don't know what to call it. It is between the airport and "downtown" Muscat. I am sure it started out as separate enclave, but now the the population has moved into the land between all the old towns...it is part of the greater Muscat metropolitan area. The physical geography and topograpny of Muscat is very similiar to Rio de Janeiro, with Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, etc. I dont know if you would call it a neighborhood, barrio, surburb...someting like that, I just can't remember the arabic word right now.. It is spelled a couple of ways.....Muttrah and Matrah....
