Well, not necessarily safe from elimination on Leg 1 - we don't have any confirmation one way or the other.

The yellow building looks like the Kaneshie market (location here); it might be the sunglasses place, or it might just be B-roll.

Intersection this leg? Stephanie and Kat seem to be doing a task (pulling a cart) together with Kat apparently falling.

No intersection in that series of photos. It's not Stephanie, it's Nat. Check the photo above of them sitting in their cab. Nat has same shirt and same cap.

14-17 seem to be half of a Detour. 12-13 is the other half? Or a Roadblock? (Or after directions. I have no idea.)

I see dirt on his arm. One of the task is dirty, alright.  :ascared  :yess:  :jam:  :jumpy:

The guy on the left, Jonathan, is dirty. But the guy on the right, Conner, is clean. I say it's a dirty Roadblock.  :yess:

Conner did the last Roadblock; so it's Jonathan turn.

He returned to her an item that has 3 photos. Look like it's a person matching task.

But why 3 photos on the item? Find all 3 persons?

I checked in again with our original source for the Accra spotting.

Before slowhatch ID'd the pic as Kaneshie market, I sent her the pic and asked for help with the ID..

She replied and clarified where the vans were and who her friend saw...

Quote
I believe the picture is in front of the Kaneshie market, that’s the biggest market in Accra, because that banner looks familiar. That angle is kind of hard because it even looks like the airport even. But Kaneshie would be my most educated guess. I no longer live there to run down the street and check. The main road down to that area is the Tema motorway, it also has another long name to it named after a former president. Most people just call it the motorway. We live off Achimota which goes down to the motorway. The airport is also near our house and you have to get onto Liberation ave. Our area is called Dzorwulu (pronounced Joe-a-loo).

I hope that helps.  But I don’t have solid stuff as to the actual events, just the vans. So, its probably lacking. Oh, I believe my friend said it was the father and daughter team that my friends saw running down the road. Kaneshie market is off that road.

I doubt they'll use it -- at least not this early!  It's probably just misdirection.  But Maria & Tiffany could've sure used it in their season, what with the tough Detour.

There's no streetview in Accra to compare the caps, but most coffin shops hang their shingles on Teshie Road near the beach, or in nearby Nungua. The pre-eminent shop Kane Kwei is in Teshie.

Idk if anybody else did but I saw the new full episode 2 promo with new caps and stuff. I'm not sure but one of the girls says the title, I think it was brook again (she said that in the promo)

So again..the commercial with the promo was on during survivor (time? Idk like in the middle of survivor. I guess...the commercial after the Immunity/Reward challenge but not sure)

Thanks, Peach. The first part is easy enough: they meet the tractor outside the main gate of Eastnor.
So they have to sell sunglasses; they have to sell a certain number or they have to sell to certain people?

They need peach and Mary to be giving some sunglasses away...interesting choice for an African task when the sunglass giveaway by them is so fondly remembered...

Thanks for the pic ID!!!

Anyone have time estimates as to how close Brook/claire and katie/Rachel checked in? Cause they are right there together now...

Three teams left the juggler pretty close together......1) Brooke/Claire, 2) Conner/Jonathan, 3) Katie/Rachel. You can see them all running across the field at the same time in the episode. Conner/Jonathon took a direct route and crossed the creek in deeper water. Brooke/Claire and Katie/Rachel went out of the way to find shallow water to cross. When Conner/Jonathon step on the mat, you can see Brooke in the distant background. I would say it was 2/3 minutes between B/C and K/R.

how do we know that Nick & Vicki survive this leg?

We don't - we only have a POSSIBLE sighting in Hong Kong - but it's not confirmed. That's why the timeline says "Status Unknown".

Idk if somebody posted that but if somebody did...I am sorry then, however, check this out:

The Amazing Race 17, Episode 2

"One team considers using their precious Express Pass after playful Ghanaian locals give some teams a headache while they struggle to complete the high-stakes roadblock."

I doubt they'll use it -- at least not this early!  It's probably just misdirection.  But Maria & Tiffany could've sure used it in their season, what with the tough Detour.

Belle Book

I believe it's misdirection as well. Thomas & Jill see the other teams trying to communicate and joke that they could always use the Express Pass. Thats how I think it'll go anyway.

Maybe it was a nice long 24-hour pitstop

The teams have to sell sunglasses to the locals, little did they know how hard of a challenge that would turn out to be. Check out The Amazing Race Sundays at 8/7c on CBS!

Something tells me Nick and Vicki are not getting eliminated with leg, they are at the roadblock with everyone else as you can see. - And now we know the sunglasses are a roadblock. If I were to judge who's going this leg, I would say Andie and Jenna.

The selling task is at Makola market. Compare the "Gino" Italian flag in the background of the cap with this photo: the sign reads "Welcome to Makola market." Kmz attached.

I don't think this tells us much. If all the teams got on the same flight and the RB task was first, then all the teams could actually be there at the same time. I saw someone with a big backpack in one cap that COULD be Andie (need to wait for caps before I can point it out), plus another who looked like Connor, and Nat and Kevin as well.

Hmm yeah, I have.

I was talking about the one where they took like an actual 1 min + clip from the actual episode and previewed it (ie the watermelon one for Leg 1). For this leg, it's the sunglasses one or something.

The Detour spots--Emmanuel's woodshop, Adom Electrical, even the "June 4th" area--cannot be resolved to any satisfaction. The best I can do is the stretch of Teshie Road between the beach area and Nungua. Judging from the confessionals, the pit stop hotel was the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel (photo source).

Good catch, Slowhatch! I'm trying to match the aerial shots, here's one along Teshie Road near Augustinesborg, I think. The "you go straight" Nat/Kat get at the Kofi Annan Intl Peacekeeping Training Center is just to the left of frame. There's a canal half a mile further east, and I'm thinking that's where the bridge our pallbearers had to cross was?

Your imagery is a lot better than Google, which has Teshie clouded out. The only help I can offer is a long shot at the beginning of Phil's Detour standup, with a arrow pointing to the bridge over the culvert, and a small sign next to the bridge: it definitely says "Methodist Church" and it might say "north teshie." The problem is, the only Methodist church I can find in Teshie is on Tsui Bleoo road.

Confirmed! Here's a 2004 image corresponding with Slowhatch's long shot. I think the start of the zoom out is where the coffins were loaded, and they transported it back out onto Teshie Rd. How the teams managed to find the start is beyond me. Divine (producer) help?

I read online that has speculation for the Final 3.
The blog's speculation has it like this
*************Possible Spoilers**************
Bottom 4
11th-Ron/Tony
10th-Andie/Jenna
????-Chad/Stephanie
????- Nick/Vicky

7th Place to 4th Place
???? Gary/Mallory
???? Kevin/Michael
???? Katie/Rachel
???? Connor/Jonathan

And Possible F3
Nat/Kat
Clare/Brook
Jill/Thomas

************************ended***************

is it me or do Nick and Vicky feel like Kami/Karli slipping in 2nd to last every round?

You can keep up to dateon what we believe here:

It was random! The mics were roughly seen from the top for a split second after Brooke and Claire finished their Detour too.
