The Race went to Chamonix, France.  Today, there was a terrorist attack on the bordering country of Belgium.

Can we stop with these unrelated and strech connections? Its really pathetic to connect TAR to a disaster when there is no correlation

Moving on. Please read the description of a "disaster curse" and let's stay close to that okay?

:groan: While not technically a "natural disaster", this "weird" story may qualify as a "cultural disaster".  I wonder if stupid things really happen after TAR visits a location.   (:;)

link to 'weird' story about Tbilisi, Georgia

Edited to add:  Wow! did a quick check and found that the Kiwi Cafe ('ground zero') was possibly in the path of the racers.  Given a different time and date, they could have been hit by a stray 'kaputi, 'bratwurst', 'salami', 'kielbasa', or heaven forbid, a 'haggis'.

One for TAR Canada, parts of Cape Breton and especially Sydney are badly flooded right now after Matthew's leftovers dumped a record 225 mm in 24 hours.

Here at the other end of the province, we got a pleasant amount of rain, enough to help with the drought we had this summer.

FURTHER UPDATE:
Two men and two woman aged between 32 and their early 40's have died. IT IS THE THUNDER RIVER RAPIDS NOT THE BUZZSAW! (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunder_River_Rapids_Ride)

Two of the riders were ejected from the ride and two other riders were caught in the ride.

It is believed that the mother, father, uncle and another relative from the same family have died.

I have been on the ride many times when my family and I visited the theme park twice. I am just shocked and saddened by these events and I will provide further updates, as they come in.
