From SLD93 at suks

PREVIOUSLY ON .. THE AMAZING RACE:

Phil: Eleven teams set out on a Race around the world. Airport, brothers got catty.  In Chile, Catie had the last line on the cable.  But they were penalized 30 minutes at the Mat.  Jordeff pissed off their H A T E R S by winning the leg and a trip to Canookia.  Some lummox (whose name already fails to register in my memory banks, oh, the ignominy!) fell off the cable like 15 or 20 times and made a fool of himself, mercifully Philiminated before he could like, fall off and hurt someone below.

Ten teams remain.  Who will be eliminated next?

Phil: This is Valparaiso, Chile, little San Francisco. This art museum, first pitstop in a Race around the world.

mandatory rest period

no idea where they'll be going to next

Jordan/Jeff depart 3:21 am. CLUE, make your way to Puerto Veras (mispronounced, of course), Chile.
Phil: 575 miles from Santiago. The Hotel Petroway; Isla Margarita. Mirador, their next clue.

Jeff decides to search other options because he has a 10 hour wait if he doesn't.
Cowboys get the same idea.
There are buses going through Timuco, which arrive much E A R L I E R, like 11:00 tonight.
Suckas! That's what they get for following the leader.
Brent/Caite are getting a lot of snarky little confessionals. As if I care?
Several teams now get the jump ... bigtime.
The suckers finally get on their bus like 9 hours after the leaders. Bwah

Cowboys break away and get a connecting bus in Timuco, leaves almost an hour sooner than Jordeff and Brent/Caite's bus.
Their smug little faces ...
Other 2 teams get the same idea, but only have 7 minutes to get on that bus.  TAXI!  TAXI!  It's just the terminal down the street!!!

R A C E E E !!!

El Autobus se fue.  Too bad, you're an hour behind the Cowboys.
Good news is, the other 7 teams are hours and hours behind you.

Any more buses going anywhere tonight? No mas! It's like being Roberto Duran fighting Sugar Ray Leonard! No mas! No mas!

How do you say "foist on your own petard" en espanol?  Because that's what Jordeff and Brent/Caite are

The Cowboys are scheduled to arrive tonight, and should have a ginormous lead.
Barring a miracle  Jordeff and Brent/Caite are barely ahead of the big group now.
Their bus will leave at 1:00 in the morning.  Arrival scheduled 6:45.
Cowboys arrive in the middle of the night.
"Marked path opens 7:30 am."  BWAH!

All's well with alliances, I suppose, as Heidi/Joe arrive Puerto Varas in 2nd and Carol/Brandy are now in 3rd.
They get in their designated cars and drive toward the boat which'll take 'em to Isla Margarita.
Meanwhile, Cowboys are standing ready to enter the path at 7:30. They're on a boat now.
Brent/Caite arrive, as do Jordeff.
So they ended up ahead of the last group, anyway.

The big, last group of teams arrive and rush off their bus.
Everyone has to drive a stick.  Guess who doesn't k now how to do that?  Daniel and Jordan!
They try to make a phallic joke out of "fallacy."
Cowboys, DETOUR.
Phil: Deep connection with animals here. Two creatures revered;
Llama Adoration. Choose a llama, dress it for a traditional festival. They're stubborn and unruly.
Condor Consternation. Dress as birds, including a 16 foot par of wings. Take flight (as a pair) and soar to a marked ta

Cowboys make short work of a Llama, and head on toward a farm for their next clue.
So far, everyone's chosen Llama Adoration (not aBortion, and not aDortion).

And now I understand why some asked if getting into a bird outfit and flying counting as a means of transport.

And they kick, too! Kablooey! Brent is fortunate he was kicked in the thigh, and not higher.

Jordeff confessional before their next attempt at flight.
High for about a split-second, they hit the water hard. Nowhere near the buoy.

Meanwhile, Dan/Jordan are driving somewhere in the outskirts of nowhere, still not on the island.

Flying better than Jordeff, Steve/Allie get close enough to the buoy to finish in 6th.

Dan/Jordan are very, very lost. Fortunately for them, they run out of land and have to turn around. Otherwise, they'd be driving for weeks.

COMMERCIAL.

Dan/Jordan make it to the Petrohue hotel before Jody/Shannon.  Uh-oh ...

Shawne/Monique arrive at Llama pen as the cops try to dress theirs.
Their demeanor is pissing off or scaring the llamas.
Monique/Shawne finish quickly in 7th, leaving them with a bad attitude and a pissed-off llama.
They get a stick out and commit animal cruelty.  Boo!  But at least they finish.
In 8th.

Cowboys, ROADBLOCK.
Phil: German immigrants still bake a traditional pastry known as a kuchen.
They have to assemble the ingredients, including milk straight from the cow.  Get the right ingredients, in the right quantity, for the next clue.

CLUE: Drive yourselves to the Gruta de la Virgen, pitstop.
Phil: Last team to check in may be eliminated.

Joe/Heidi begin Roadblock in 2nd.  Heidi decides to team up with Carol.

Phil: Joe/Heidi, you're Team #2. Carol/Brandy, you're Team #3.
They all hug.

One by one, teams gather ingredients for the kuchen.

Louie/Michael are driving lost.
Dan/Jordan arrive at the kuchen challenge, finally.
Lots of jokes about milking the cow.  None funny, though.

Phil: Brent/Caite, you're Team #4.
Caite conf: I AM AN INTELLIGENT PERSON!  I wish they'd all stop making fun of me!

Jody/Shannon arrive last at the kuchen challenge, as Dan/Jordan leave.
But the cops are still lost, now asking for directions.
Guess who else is lost?  JORDEFF!  They run into the cops, asking for directions.
Cop: "We went right ____ing by it!"

COMMERCIAL.

Louie/Michael get back in the car and drive hurriedly.
Monique/Shawne didn't get lost, though.

Phil: Monique/Shawne, you're Team #5.
Phil: Jordan/Jeff, you're Team #6.

Louie/Michael find their way to the kuchen challenge, FINALLY.
Down goes a cop!  Flat on his backside!  Slipped on some spilled egg or summat.
Granny is milking the nice little cow until it kicks the crap out of her, right in the kisser!
Milk, everywhere.

Phil: Steve/Allie, you're Team #7.

Granny speaks awfully nicely to the cow that just tried to kick out her molar.
The cop milks faster, though.
The race is on.

Phil: Dan/Jordan, you're Team #8.

Louie/Michael finish kuchen ingredients and drive off in a hurry.
Granny finishes shortly thereafter.
They take their pieces of kuchen and drive off.

Jody drives.
Taller cop drives.
Granny gives directions.
Both teams get out and hoof it.

Phil: Louie/Michael, you're the 9th team to arrive.

Phil: Jody/Shannon, you're the last team to arrive.  Sorry to tell you, you have been eliminated from the Race.
Conf: I'm so proud of my grandmother.
Granny: I can do physical things, and I'mma keep on doing them!
Conf: Where's the next great adventure?
Granny: I'll go anywhere with you.

NEXT TIME ON .. THE AMAZING RACE:

Phil: Carol/Brandy interrogate the Cowboys about their success (on the last leg)
Cowboy: I wasn't getting warm fuzzies (or summat).

Phil:  ... and later, the dating couple goes at each other's throats.
One, driving in the countryside: I can't drive with you yelling at me (or summat)
Other, later, in a field: Well that was  nice temper tantrum!

Agreed. Personally I'm hoping their placings end up as a precise copy of Debbie & Bianca. :snicker:

It's the first-half-of-the-season curse, they had to make space for the more "interesting" teams, getting-lost drama and animal fun

Yeah, but when that happens to a team that falls out early it's just horrid. I think we'll see more of Steve & Allie soon enough.

And two of my three starting favorites are out. It can't possibly get any worse, could it? Maybe I'll have to start watching without calling any teams my favorites at all. Fortunately there is a lot of hope in the future for my remaining favorite. :yess:

If they manage to finish next to last every leg without falling out then I start to be annoyed with them. I just don't see much reason to like them right now.

Jody & Shannon. :(

Ugh. I hate that they never really got a lucky break. I'm sure they would still be in it if they had.

Like camels, llamas have always been golden on this show. They're just so cute.

The Cowboys were flawless tonight. They worked the bus information hard and took advantage of their opportunity to get ahead of the other teams. And they got through the leg tasks so fast that it'll be interesting to see how much of a lead they built up over teams 2 and 3.

And that preview of next week shows the teams are been segregated already at the pit stop.

That might explain a more natural segration, rather than one forced upon teams by TPTB. If the cowboys were far enough ahead to get the post leg interviews done, I suspect they might have been asleep when teams 2 and 3 got to the pit stop. They rode the bus the whole day before and then slept in their car before doing all the tasks. I think they would have been pretty tired and not waste to much time getting to sleep. Teams 2 and 3 were probably still asleep when the Cowboys left the pit stop........the first chance they had to talk, was probably an HOH.

Frankly it all depends on teams.  Some spend a lot of time interacting with other teams, others spend little if any time.

What is sad with Jody & Shannon is they didn't run the slowest leg.  What killed them is that it appears they didn't think of seeking other avenues in buses.
