It looks like Stiefeltrinken. Explanation at the last paragraph of this page, German wiki article here.

Where do you think Beerfest got the idea from?  :jam:

Slowhatch's links explain the beer drinking from a boot fairly well if you go read them.

:groan:  oh sure, this pub named "Hamburg" in Valparaiso (Chile) has life rings...  (:;)  go figure

Any chance they have to go back to Chile to catch a flight to Germany?  Maybe that's where the intersection starts???  I dunno.

If you look at post 77 in this thread, you will see that the Detectives read their Intersection clue and pair with the Cowboys in Hamburg.

So the beer drinking has to be a FastForward, or one of the options on a Detour - with Caite being prohibited from doing it, it can't be a general route task.
I don't think TPTB would allow Caite to drink beer, even though the drinking age in Germany for beer is 16, she was still underage in the US.

Still can't find that darn pub. (:;)

Excellent point! It could be a detour option though, remember that Luke and Margie had the chinese spoken be a waiter option that of course Luke couldn't do. They could get around it if the clue read, "one" team member must...

But this might be a bit tough on a stomach recuperating from food poisoning anyway!

Great job! And nice effort by everyone too! Fischmarkt - close to the bungee then?

Jet and Cord are most definitely there during the daytime then. So first stop in Hamburg? And if the beer's a Detour, that means the Intersection only counts for the Roadblock, and then time to head for the Pit Stop?

This would be so much easier to explain if non-task beer drinking was allowed: Jet/Cord arrive too early at the Intersection, decide to check out the bungee in the clue, and then end up in the bar by chance...

Sure enough, "old sailor bar Hamburg" leads you right to the Shark Bar, just down the street from the bungy (street view here). Nice work.

Yeah... and isn't she a little too "innocent" to be drinking?

I'm a little confused because we know the next episode is in France, so it's not two legs in Germany, but I don't see a Beatles-related task in the previews.  I guess it could be another general task, but there seems to be a lot going on already in this episode.

The subway navigation could very well be the Beatles task.

I'm not sure that's a door to the outside. It could still be at night.

If you go to the link I posted for the bar and click on tour (on left menu), there is a really great picture behind the bar, and it looks like that is a doorway possibly to the kitchen.

I'd go with day. What other light source would make such bright light?

oh great job caper!! :hearts:

If this is what y'all mean by outside...I'm not sure it is? It appears to lead to a place with a shiny tile wall, several pictures show a bad reflection off that wall. Pretty sure we are not seeing outside there.
