On our season, the first leg took two days. We rested in between at the army base... we slept in those mosquito nets!

If your posts are missing they have probably been deleted or moved to speculation <<

Hi Brooke!  :waves: HUGE fan!!!

Back on topic: Do you guys think there will be two legs in Chile to kick off TAR16?
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥

A question. Has there ever been a amazing race season in the past where 2 nel's are back to back? If no, could it be possible that tar 16 will be the first race to do that?

Yes there has, I'm pretty sure there were two NEL's back to back in TAR11.

TAR 3 had two NELs in legs 8 and 9. (sparing JVJ, then Flo/Zach, before eliminating JVJ in fifth)
TAR 5 had two NELs in legs 8 and 9. (sparing Kami/Karli, then Brandon/Nicole, before eliminating Kami/Karli in fifth)
TAR 11 had two NELs in legs 10 and 11 (sparing Eric/Danielle, then Ozzy/Danny, before eliminating then in fourth), though I think this may not have been planned this way.

And Family Edition had an NEL followed by a TBC in legs 9 and 10a (sparing the Weavers, then the Godlewskis before eliminating them in fourth), though I don't see this happening again.

I have finished this a few minutes after Zachattack308, but what I have written does add some information.

Michael is correct. We guess that there was not supposed to be back-to-back NELs but when Uchenna/Joyce fell way behind as a result of their Frankfurt incident delaying their arrival in Kuala Lumpur, the next episode in Hong Kong became NEL and the one after in Macau was probably already scheduled to be NEL.

However, that was not the only instance of back-to-back NELs. In AR3, ep. 8 in Grindelwald finished at Chalet Arnika with a close footrace. John Vito and Jill were non-eliminated, then in Ep. 9 at the boat on Lake Geneva at Montreux Zach and Flo were non-eliminated.

Another instance was is AR5 where Kami and Karli were non-eliminated in ep. 8 at a Bedouin camp near Dubai. In ep. 9 Brandon and Nichol refused head-shaving and arrived last to the Calcutta Victoria Memorial but were saved by non-elimination.

Zachattack308, your information about AR8 is not correct. Ep. 10a was the beginning of a TBC, not a NEL. The legs where there was no elimination were 5, 7 and 9. No back-to-back for AR8.

No, I am just focused on spoilers, so wondered if you had seen anything to make you think that could be an actual possibility already. :hugs:

It's nice that such a thread exists, but there are many instances when the discussion belongs with the seed the generated it.

:-[ Newbie Here...

What is a NEL???

It's a Non-Elimination Leg.  In recent seasons, the last team to arrive at a NEL pitstop must perform a speed bump during the next leg.
