Re: Have we already had a thread about visiting the places shown in TAR?

Maybe I can start it with Cui Ping Jiu Jia shown in leg1 (Shanghai) in TAR21 where contestants had hasma (the fatty tissue found near frog fallopian tubes). After this episode was aired many fans in Baidu forum (especially those from Shanghai) were surprised at the crew choosing this place for the challenge because this restaurant received bad reception online. We have a website where people can rate restaurants, and this restaurant received many 0 points... People blamed this restaurant for its low speed in serving the meals, bad serving attitude, and poor dishes. :)

This is what it was like when S21 was aired. Don't know the circumstances now...

ETA: Latest news--Cui Ping Jiu Jia has been closed. The boss owed a lot of money and hence the court decided to confiscate it. :groan:

Wow at the restaurant being closed.

What happened?! :ascared If the entire village burned down, then the Songwe Museum where leg 2 visited is gone too. :'( I've always wanted to go retrace the full Zambia adventure.

I believe it had always been a touristy thing rather than a real village.

What are some other places the race visited that don't exist any more? The Thu Thiem Cafe (TAR 3) was a wrecked shack when I visited five/six years ago - I'm not sure if it was a legit cafe in the first place though?

Traced throughout Chicago (homey :hrt:) already:

 Buckingham Fountain - went there a month ago for a friend's wedding photo op
 Chicago Water Tower - See it in the skyline almost everyday :)
 ORIGINAL Gino's East - live a few blocks from the place  :hearts: They serve great pizza, but the deep dish pizzas are rather pricey.
 P.T. Park (Ping Tom Park) - The only enjoyable park I've jogged in. :res:
