I think Dubai was two legs because we obviously need 11 legs so this is what everything points to:

L.A to Japan
Japan to Japan
Japan to HCMC
HCMC to Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh to Dubai
Dubai to Dubai
Dubai to The Netherlands
Netherlands to Sweden
Sweden to Estonia
Estonia to Prague
Prague to Las Vegas

You all keep ignoring the Leg in Masada, Israel even though you all saw pictures of a cluebox and Jeeps with the american production logo and at the same date a leg was "missing" on your timeline. How come??? What am I missing here?

I think your problem is that they were actually spotted in the Netherlands in the Morning and it would have been impossible from Israel.

With the timeline happening now... can we infer/speculate that there are no TBC legs and this season is technically shorter than TAR14 by an episode?

Can we suspect as well that they could be able to drive from Dubai to Qatar/Bahrain?

Mooyou,

Yes, it looks like AR15 is back to an 11 episode season, just like most recent seasons except AR14. No, you cannot assume that there is no TBC in AR15. At this point, we do not know. TBCs do not have to be in the same city. Witness AR10's Finland combined with Kiev TBC episodes.

Mooyou,

Yes, it looks like AR15 is back to an 11 episode season, jsut like most recent seasons except AR14. No, you cannot assuem that there is no TBC in AR15. AT this point, we do not know. TBCs do not have to be in the same city. Witness AR10's Finland combined with Kiev TBC episodes.

Oh yeah, I remember that... Another thing that came into my mind that TAR might/could get TARI's editing focusing some legs into two episodes, which could prolong it's airing and reducing the legs? Could that be a plausible thing as well?

That's why I put 44 hours in Dubai.  What happens during that time is tbd on any incoming info.

Chateau,

I had hypothesized that teams would get to Groningen from Bremen airport. Unfortunately, the schedules do not work out compare to the very efficient flight Dubai to Hamburg (EK59 DXB HAM 0900 1345 as identified by you arriving ). To fly from Hamburg to Bremen, a distance of 59 miles, requires a connection in Munich, Frankfurt or Amsterdam, none of which make any sense. It is easier for teams to just drive Hamburg to Groningen with their German-supplied Mercedes vehicles for  the 144 mile trip to Groningen. To fly to Amsterdam and still have a bout a 110 mile (93 miels from central Amsterdam plus the extra distance from Schiphol) trip just makes no sense to me, and I suspect also to world Race Productions.

I suggest you alter your timeline accordingly. With customs clearance into the EC, security etc. teams could be driving from Hamburg airport before 1445 and arrive Groningen before 1745. Your scenario is not feasible since with a 1625 arrival and the same 1 hour customs/security assumption and a 2.2 hour drive it will be after 1837 before any team could arriva via flying Hamburg to Amsterdam.

As far as our source understands, teams arrived in Gronigen in the mid morning, NOT the night before. (Although nothing says they couldn't have arr Netherlands the night before and did not arr Gronigen till that AM.) He also understood that teams arrived from Dubai, but has been unable to clarify whether this meant directly from Dubai, or just had been in Dubai previously.

You all keep ignoring the Leg in Masada, Israel even though you all saw pictures of a cluebox and Jeeps with the american production logo and at the same date a leg was "missing" on your timeline. How come??? What am I missing here?

I actually agree with you on this. The sighting in Masada is excellent, particularly since we have had no further sightings of what could have been TARI,  AND since we KNOW that TARA is not yet filming, and we also believe that TARI is not yet filming.

We have teams seen the night of July 26th in Dubai with an eyewitness who says they were doing a sign up sheet, for a task/s on the 27th. So the (first?) Dubai leg could be completed  as soon as  midday the 27th. If there is a pitstop with an early AM release on the 28th...OR if this were a TBC leg, teams CAN be in Israel in time for the Masada sighting, and can be in Amsterdam by very early AM on the  30th for the Gronigen leg (I have posted a possible Tel Aviv to AMS via Brussels flight elsewhere). We have the time July 28-30 for another leg without doubt.

SO what is the difficulty?

We also have a Twiitter report from Steffi, whose previous timeline has been very accurate, that she saw teams in her hotel the morning of the 29th IN DUBAI, asking about flights/the airport.  Clearly teams cannot be both in Dubai and in Israel.

My hope is that once we can reach Steffi, we can clarify this. It is our understanding that she has no Internet right now, but trust me, she has a lot of questions waiting for her when she does, and we can only hope that she will reply. If her dates are off, or if she meant to say the day before, then Masada is absolutely possible. If she stands by the date of 7/29 for her sighting, then we need to choose.

So the choice appears to be between a second Dubai leg, a leg somewhere else entirely (doubtful), or a documented (photo and permits) of Masada.

For me, Masada is much more appealing and I hope that we can reconcile the confusion to accept this 100%.

But we are NOT ignoring it, there has been a lot of Detective conversation and research on this, nothing has yet been ruled out.

I would also like to add here that right now all evidence points to the Mauritius info being shared as a false spoiler, possibly quite deliberate. We also hope to have further documentation of that before long.

Does that help explain a little?? ???

Peach:

I was following the assumption laid down by Chateau for all-July 29 action. If you relax that a bit, I have a better flight than the middle of the night:

TLV AMS KL462   0505 0905
TLV AMS LY337   0600 1005

There is also a nonstop from TLV BRU SN7000 0700 0805. I think your SN3292 TLV BRU 0100 0500 is a better option because it allows for connection in Brussels to Bremen on Olt-ostfriesische Lufft 161 0810 0930. I have never heard of this airline and it has a 0% on-time record for that flight, but it is listed with a reputable source.

We need to place teams at the windmill pretty early I believe..I think by 10?? SO allowing for driving times they need to be at either AMS or Bremen very early, I think flights arr 930-10 may well be too late for that.

But I do LOVE the idea of Bremen!

I will go ask Dutch to please reconfirm the time he first saw the teams, hopefully that might help us here.

Go ahead and open up that time window to 10:12 am .  I noticed another shadow and came up with a new interpretation of the scene.   :duno:

Chateau,

Wow! There are some perfect fits for what we are looking for:

Incoming Dubai to Amman choice of 2 flights landing 20 minutes apart:
 DBX AMM  EK901 0725 0920 or RJ613 0730 0940

Tel Aviv to Frankfurt: TLV FRA LH6871645 2000
connecting to            FRA BRE LH350 2125 2220

An alternative is Tel Aviv to Amesterdam TLV AMS LY339 1705 2110

Bremen is actually closer to Amsterdam and has a lower probability of an airport siting (because nobosy would expect the Amazing Race there), so I prefer the first approach but the second gives a precious 20 minutes extra on a very tight timetable for teams to do their land routes to and from Massada.

As Professor Henry Higgins was fond of saying, "I think we've got it."

The Amman to Masada to Tel Aviv portion would be by self-drivecar or taxi. The only almost-certainty is using the Allenby/King Hussein gate to go into East Jerusalem, since it is one of only 3 border crossings between Israel and Jordan and the other 2 are far north and far south of it.

I now have the land distances associated with my post above.

The distance from Amman to Jerusalem is only 45 miles, but it can take up to 5 hours or longer. I have to assume that World Race Productions has obtained prior authorization for that to be expedited, so let's say 1.5 hours for this portion.

From Jerusalem south to Massada on the west bank of the Dead Sea is 90km, or 55 miles. Say 1.5 hours for that segment since the first part is very urban and congested.

Assume that the tasks at Massada will take one hour and end in a TBC.

From Massada northwest to Ben Gurion Airport is 133 km or 83 miles. Let's say 1.5 hours for that segment since it is mostly rural.

The resulting timeline is:

ready to go from Amman International Airport 1020
across King Hussein/Allenby Gate 1150
arrive Massada 1320
leave Massada 1420
arrive Ben Gurion 1550
departure of LH687 to Frankfurt 1645

There is no slack in these assumptions. That is barely enough time for teams to buy tickets adn get onto LH687, but it could potentially have been done.

Comments from those who have driven around Israel more recently than me (1981) will be appreciated, particualrly on whether the border crossing could be expedited and how long it takes to drive in those parts of Israel.

I think we can fit this in.  But there is one thing that still bothers me about making it fit and that is that the original spoiler said that he was going for a dawn climb of the Masada when he saw the racer's jeeps with flags.  So that would be dawn on the 29th.  Well, we had a team in Dubai at that time.  Or if it was dawn on the 30th how do we get the teams up to Vierhuizen by 10 am?

Based solely on one tweet from Steffi. Who could have her dates wrong somehow?? Maybe it was the 28th?

I don't know...but one tweet vs photos+film permits from Masada.... I'm thinking Masada.

And you can get to Vierhuizen by 10 AM :

re Masada:

I just checked flights from Tel Aviv on the 30th.

There is a direct flight to Brussels dep110am arr 505 ish which could connect to a shuttle to AMS, wh actually arrived at 712  AM. So logistically tight, but possible?

July 27th should have been taskday/Pitstop in Dubai, allowing teams to depart Dubai on the 28th.

Steffi's post times are solid and not subject to mis-interpretation.  The only wiggle room is what time did they 'check out' of their hotel.  Maybe it was at oh-dark-hundred on the 29th and so the team she saw had access to very early flights out of DXB.  Also, her older M/F couple who teach skydiving in America could be the last team and way behind the pack.  The lead teams may have left Dubai the evening before.

Then we could have the pack doing the Masada at dawn on the 29th. And then a-la-apskip:

leave Massada 1420
arrive Ben Gurion 1550
departure of LH687 to Frankfurt 1645
Tel Aviv to Frankfurt: TLV FRA LH6871645 2000
connecting to            FRA BRE LH350 2125 2220

And, on the morning of the 30th, they get access to the Mercedes and they drive to Vierhuizen.

How does that sound?

I have some new information which relates to the possibilities. There are 3 ways to get from Dubai to either Amman or Tel Aviv on the evening of Tuesday July 28.

The best by far is nonstop RJ619 DXB AMM 2110 2320

Later arriving in Amman is GF567 DXB BAH 1820 1905 connecting Bahrain to GF5809 BAH AMM 2105 2345

Earlier but using a more circuitous route to Tel Aviv is EK131 DXB DME 1740 2255 connecting Moscow Domodedovo to LY616 DME TLV 2355 0255+1. This gets in well after midnight, which might minimize the hazards of being sighted in Ben Gurion Airport.

From a reliable source:

Teams FLEW into Phnom Penh (presumably from HCMC) via Phnom Penh International. The red and yellow flags were seen on Friday, July 24 at the airport.

Correction:

The flight info above is incorrect after receiving some further info.

Instead:

Quote
the airport airline and management staff were setting up the markers and stuff for the show when the racers would leave
which the source believes to be on Sunday (July 26).
Quote
So they were apparently just showing the stuff and talking about the "Hollywood movie" that was going to be shot in the airport.

Which leaves the possibility of them arriving by bus very much alive. Bus 6 hours and USD 12.

More information on the possiblity of bus travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh:
 6.30am, 8am, 9am and 11am

These buses reportedly take 7 hours including border crossing, a minor variance from Peach's information.

Was slacking off for a while, now trying to follow Apskip's posts all over the board...

But do we have any evidence to suggest land travel from Amman to Israel?

Dubai looks like it's going to end by noon on the 27th, which would give Phil time to catch:
Dubai to Amman, EK 903 1400-1555
Amman to Tel Aviv, RJ 340 2200-2045
and the opportunity to take the 28th to do his stand-ups.

If teams race Israel on the 29th (jeep permits for 29/30), and Phil takes this evening flight to Amsterdam:
Tel Aviv to Amsterdam, LY 339 1705-2110

Does it give him enough time to film his stand-ups before teams arrive to race on the 30th? Why not delay the teams as per usual practice for a Netherlands leg on the 31st?
