Going with Vegassinner's arrival time window of between 1pm and 1:45pm I have a reasonable scenario from Prague

British Airways BA 857 leaving PRG at 6:40 pm and arriving LHR at 7:50 pm
or Czech Airlines OK 652 leaving PRG at 6:45 pm and arriving LHR at 8:05 pm
then
UA 929 leaving LHR at 7:45 am and arriving at Chicago ORD at 10:28 am
or AA 99  leaving LHR at 7:55 am and arriving at Chicago ORD at 10:20 am (I guess a 777 is faster than a 763)
then
UA 551 leaving ORD at 11:53 am and arriving LAS at 1:39 pm

I'm thinking that's the earliest possible combination arriving from Europe that day. Anything earlier will get teams in on the night of the 6th. Here's one that takes riskier connections, but ends up on the same final flight from Chicago into Las Vegas:

Prague to Frankfurt, LH 3267: 0600-0710
Frankfurt to Chicago, UA 945: 0825-1033
Chicago to Las Vegas, UA 551: 1153-1339
Both Lufthansa and United are Star Allance members.

I'm thinking this is the flight TPTB was going for. Any release time between the afternoon of the 6th and the morning of the next day would result in the same flight - basically an overnight bunch. Perfect set-up for the final leg.

Teams released on the evening of the 6th will find only one good flight (the Chicago one), and the arrival timing between 1pm and 1.45pm checks out.

And the decoy teams could make the earlier flights you mentioned, got to Las Vegas the night before and be rested to do a lot of work the next day. The decoys can leave Prague before a pit stop occurs and rest in Vegas.

Teams must be released after sunset of the 6th in Prague, so that they will miss this:

LH 3265 to Frankfurt, 1935-2045
LH 8188 to Chicago, 0215-0425
US 537 to Las Vegas, 0620-0805

... which gets them into Las Vegas too early. Decoys could be on this, as well as other earlier flights (eg Atlanta). Given that the Prague leg likely ends on the afternoon of the 5th, they should have plenty of time to get to Vegas first.

Does anyone know of any other overnight trans-Atlantic flights? These are rare, both departing and arriving in the middle of the night (eg this 0215-0425 Frankfurt-Chicago flight). That's the only way teams can get to Vegas before 1.39pm on the 7th. Might have to check Spain/Portugal-Latin America flights, but I think the rest of Europe is covered. Will edit if I find more info...

You can bet all the fruit in Georgia that no teams went through Atlanta on August 6th

I wouldn't put too much stock in anyone from TAR getting on Lufthansa flight LH 8188 from Frankfurt to Chicago:   :waves:

I like your PRA to FRA  to ORD to LAS route better than my PRA to LHR to ORD to LAS since it points to a 36 hour pit stop instead of a 24 hour one.

24-hour pit stops don't go over very well!

Ack, cargo flight! :groan:

Here's one late-night departure that should work, I think it's the last one out of Prague before teams get stuck on the Chicago flight arriving at 1.39pm:

OK 702 to Madrid, 2005-2255
IB 6401 to Mexico City, 0120-0605
MX 990 to Las Vegas, 0710-0900

Three different airlines, three different alliances. Teams might have a harder time finding this connection. But if TPTB is aware of this they'd make sure teams leave the Pit Stop no earlier than 7pm on the 6th. This gives them an 8 hour opportunity to bunch all remaining teams.

It's pretty easy getting to Amsterdam from Dubai, mostly requiring only one connection.

EK 45/WA 1768 through Frankfurt, 0825-1700 (would probably arrive before HoO)
EK 127/WA 1846 through Vienna, 0955-1705 (would probably arrive before HoO)
BR 679/KL 1022 through London Heathrow, 1115-1935
CX 65/LH 4688 through Frankfurt, 1455-2210

Then the European airports mostly close down, giving our teams plenty of time to chill at Dubai airport before the direct flight:
KL 428 straight to Amsterdam, 0005-0520

Flights for Steffi from Dubai to Australia all leave before 11am, so the hotel sighting would have to be before 9am. Gives teams no reason not to catch at least the 2.55pm flight, which arrives in Amsterdam that evening. There will be an overnight bunching at Amsterdam.
