From Real Networks “CBS is increasing the quality of the image and sound for the entire show, from the live feeds and CBS broadcast to After Dark. As long as you have enough bandwidth you should see a noticeable increase on your home computer. This high level of realtime compression can only be achieved using Reals Helix system, Microsoft Media Services, Adobes flash streaming and Apples QuickTime solutions.” From Real Networks “We will be rolling out our new HD capable Helix streaming servers early next year and what better way to showcase and test our premiere product than on the Big Brother Feeds.” Some feature we will employing using Reals new helix servers - Unicast broadcasting to external audiences - Archiving broadcasts - multi bit rate real time encoding - Time shifting - multi camera real-time viewing” Real networks is offering time-shifting on the Big Brother feeds, what does that mean? Real captures the live feeds onto their main server straight from the 4 cameras supplied by CBS, these 4 streams are pushed off to Reals edge servers located throughout the continent of North America. From these edge servers the video is uni-casted to your home computer at a bit rate based on your download throughput. When real wants to stream the stored feeds to you each one of these edge servers will have archived the big brother 10 and big brother 11 feeds in their entirety. Their solution is to give you access to a given slot of time where you have free movement forwards and backwards with the option to pause your stream. No data will be stored on your home computer if you request a one hour time slot and want to start 23 minutes the stream will start 23 minutes in, than if you find out some house guest said something crazy 13 minutes in than you can rewind to that point and the stream will begin again. Each individual stream will be delivered to home computers using a variable bit rate From Real Networks “The live feed client has also been given an overhaul, We have noticed a sharp increase in broadband usage so are able to stream out all four cammera views in a thumbnail format. This way you see what’s going on all 4 cameras and can pick which on you would like to view in full resolution.”  |

 So when we miss something, we can sorta rewind so we can see it after work or the next morning. More screencaps, more photochops, more laughs. I can't wait.  Not having to change camera views to see what is going on, on another camera,  Lots and lots of wasted time saved. With the new feature of being able to playback a specific hour, we (me)  wont have to ask so many questions when I miss something. Yeah I will be able to go back and see it. glitches e not the word omg, the frizing getting the boot for no reason i just hope they get a lot more stuff on there end to support all this new stuff. i have had feeds sence bb3 and they were great, and i was on dial up at the time, real has gone down hill drastickliy every year. jmo i never bout the The Feeds  but every one says it is great. i was all ways so i did not want to spend another dime on it.also i rember real being like 20 dollars for the whole bb season?? the quility got worse and the price went up.  please let real be fablous this year.. |

 If anyone is interested, when you buy the BB R e l o a d e r , you get the bar feed option with all four feeds just as in Realplayer. So if you are used to the r e l o a d e r for screencaps, you can also have the improvement of the bar feed.  For the rewind video, you will have to use Realplayer.

i d/l'd the beta version too. it's fine but i'm not sure about captions. I'm sticking with what i know works for me and thats the reeee-loader.. lol i love it and it's fast!! not a memory hog either!! and yes like Blondie mentioned the bar feature is awesome as well!! |

no feeds are on yet however if you want you can follow what puddin says to do, it works! earlier this morning they had NASA on it!! open real & make sure your signed in and go to file , then open and
copy and paste the rstp(below) into the open browser and then hit ok. do that for each feed

I couldn't even make it stay on top so I could see the forum.... Back to re---loader for me! Easy screencaps,, can keep each feed on top, or all of them if I want! Now...just need a computer that works.... |

had maj0ors issue all day with realplayer so i'm thinking it's them not us.. i updated the codecs found under tools then updates.
then pasted the URL posted above in real player.. and everything seems ok for now. however i'm still using re--- loader.. it's fast and simple except when the webpage hangs up on a pic post.
see support for added info on this!! we got to work together or we'll all be frustrated!!
