The Bachelor...14th edition
« on: March 20, 2009, 09:09:58 AM »
ABC Seeks New 'Bachelor'

Now that The Bachelor has ended its 13th season, it's time to begin the search for eligible men and women who are ready to find love on TV.  If you have the charm, style and personality to be the next reality TV star, then come to ABC's casting event on Thursday, April 23 at The Talbott Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.  Casting starts at 5pm until 9pm.

This marks the first casting event following the 13th season of The Bachelor which saw love searcher and single dad Jason Mesnick proposing to Melissa Rycroft only to dump her for runner-up Molly Malaney during the After the Final Rose special.

Will the next Bachelor turn out to be a jerk like Jason Mesnick?  Or will he rise above viewers' expectations and prove that it's possible to find true love in front of millions of viewers.  At any rate, the next Bachelor will certainly carry a lot of pressure on his shoulders.  The 13th season of The Bachelor hit record high in ratings.  15.5 million people reportedly witnessed Jason Mesnick choose Melissa Rycroft in New Zealand during The Bachelor's season finale, its highest ratings in five years.  Subsequently, 2 million more tuned in for the After the Final Rose special where Mesnick broke Rycroft's heart, for a grand total of 17.5 million, which basically paved the way to ABC's victory for the night.

Interested applicants can also apply online or send a letter or call the designated toll free number (1-866-739-3150).  For online applicants, you must submit a picture and complete the online form, while those who cannot submit a photo can send it together with the downloaded application form to P.O. Box 690, 10153 Ĺ Riverside Drive Toluca Lake, CA 91602.

Meanwhile, the same instructions apply for the hopeful bachelorettes.

I had heard that it's Kiptyn but maybe that's just the usual rumors?

Yeah, I heard the rumor that it's Kiptyn as well but don't know if it is true. The identity probably will get leaked out before the announcement on 10/13.

Tory, Jake is the one from Dallas and he returned to the show toward the end to warn Jillian that Wes had a girlfriend back home.

I'm seeing lots more speculation that Jake is indeed the next Bachelor.

Is Jake Pavelka the Next 'Bachelor?

Us magazine is reporting that a woman, who is claiming to be one of next season's bachelorettes, has revealed the identity of the next "Bachelor" to be Jake Pavelka.

But ABC will neither confirm nor deny the claim, saying: "We are not going to confirm who 'The Bachelor' is, or if this woman is even one of the bachelorettes. People need to tune into 'Dancing With the Stars' on October 13 to find out the real identity of the next 'Bachelor.'"

Jake was a fan favorite and an early frontrunner on last season's "The Bachelorette" after his one-on-one date with Jillian Harris, during which they were serenaded in a private concert by Martina McBride. So even though he didn't make it into the final three, he was one of the names that executive producer Mike Fleiss told ET he was considering, along with Reid Rosenthal and Kiptyn Locke to be the next "Bachelor."

When asked if he would be the next "Bachelor" in an interview at "The Bachelorette: Men Tell All" taping, Jake told ET, "After seeing how the show works, and seeing how much love the producers have [for the show], and how comfortable they make everything, I would consider it."

Last season's "The Bachelorette" was full of drama when it was revealed that one of the guys had a girlfriend, but no one would tell Jillian who that was. Finally Jake came forward and told her that it was Wes Hayden, who denied it. He got a lot of flack for that, but he told ET that he doesn't regret his decision to tell Jillian the truth.

ABC press release:

JAKE PAVELKA GETS A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE IN ďTHE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE,Ē WHEN ABCíS HIT ROMANCE REALITY SERIES PREMIERES MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2010

For the First Time Ever ďThe BachelorĒ Will Be Broadcast in High Definition
Jake Pavelka is out to prove that nice guys donít always finish last in love. The handsome commercial pilot from Dallasóand Americaís most hopeful romanticóbegins his own bid for true love, choosing from among 25 bachelorettes, when ďThe Bachelor: On the Wings of LoveĒ premieres MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2010 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. This will be the 14th edition of ABCís hit romance reality series and, for the first time in the history of the series, ďThe BachelorĒ will be broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABCís selected HDTV format, with stereo sound.

Ever since Jake, 31, shared a magical one-on-one date with Bachelorette Jillian Harris to see Martina McBride, millions of women have had their ďTop GunĒ fantasies about him. A fan favorite for his reputation as an honest guy with an open heart Ė not to mention his good looks -- viewers were stunned when Jillian rejected Jake right before the hometown dates on last seasonís ďThe Bachelorette.Ē But women were drawn to him even more when Jake returned of his own accord in the next episode to protect Jillian from men who were not there for the right reasons. Jake Ė who already knew Jillian would not take him back -- freely shared and showed his emotions.

Jakeís fairytale-like experience falling for Jillian made him confident that he can find the love of his life on ďThe Bachelor.Ē Now itís his time. Jake knows himself well enough to know that heís not made to live alone. He just needs to find the right woman -- his best friend and soul mate Ė and thatís whom heíll marry. Searching for a woman who is intelligent, confident, energetic and spontaneous, he admits that he canít wait for fatherhood.

Fortunate to discover his passion at a young age, Jake started taking flying lessons at age 12. An accomplished pilot, he became an airline captain flight instructor at 23. On his days off, he has fun flying acrobatic planes, taking dance lessons and woodworking at the home he owns near Dallas. His parents have had a long and happy marriage, and it seems to run in the family, as Jake also has two happily married brothers Ė older brother Jason and younger brother Matt Ė and two nieces.

Jake grew up in Denton, Texas and attended University of North Texas and Embry Engineering University for Aerospace Science.

ABC press release:

Wednesday, December 16, 2009
ABC Television Network
PRESS RELEASE - PRESS RELEASE - ENTERTAINMENT -
ABC ANNOUNCES BACHELORETTES FOR 14TH EDITION OF THE BACHELOR

JAKE PAVELKA BEGINS HIS SEARCH FOR THAT ONE SPECIAL WOMAN
WHEN "THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE" PREMIERES,
MONDAY, JANUARY 4, ON ABC

The 25 Bachelorettes Who Look to Capture the Sexy Pilot's Heart Are Revealed

What do an NBA dancer, a corporate flight attendant, a mortgage loan officer and a captain in the Air National Guard have in common? They all have their sights set on moving to Dallas with the new Bachelor, Jake Pavelka, when "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," the 14th edition of ABC's popular romance reality series, premieres MONDAY, JANUARY 4 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Jake, 31, a commercial airline pilot, meets 25 potential soul mates as he begins his exciting search for true love. In the premiere episode, "1401," Jason prepares for the night of his life, as the 25 beautiful bachelorettes, who can think of nothing but him, begin to arrive.

Rozlyn, a stunning blonde model who isn't afraid to make the first move, is the first out of the limo, and Jake is immediately smitten by her beauty. Vienna, a bold woman who makes no secret of her fondness for the handsome Bachelor, asks to touch his well-defined abs, while Ashleigh ends up literally falling into Jake's arms.

As the party begins and Jake makes the rounds greeting the women, Ali, an adorable girl-next-door who is risking her future to win the Bachelor's heart, confesses her fear of flying. Ashley, a tempting teacher, causes a ruckus by putting on a very revealing flight attendant's uniform in her bid to get Jake's attention and steals him away from the unsuspecting Ella, a single mom and hairstylist who is looking for a nice guy to complete her family. When Elizabeth from Nebraska, an athletic hottie who loves to play games, challenges Jake to a friendly game of touch football, blondes line up versus brunettes in a Bachelor first - a sexy, barefoot-in-eveningwear football scrimmage! The question remains... will Elizabeth win it all in the game of love?

Tensions mount and sparks fly when the "first impression" rose is brought out by Chris Harrison, and Jake makes his first decision much to the delight and surprise of one woman. For Michelle, who is one of Jake's biggest fans and will stop at nothing to get her man, the pressure is too much and she breaks down in tears when she doesn't get enough time with the Bachelor.

Then Jake, in his first rose ceremony, must eliminate 10 of the 25 women, leaving 15 to compete for his affection and, in the end, his heart.

The 25 women are:

Alexa, 25, an entrepreneur from Galloway, OH

Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA

Ashleigh, 25, an account manager from North Potomac, MD

Ashley, 29, a teacher from Pittsburgh, PA

Tonight's premiere episode was probably the best I've ever seen....but really, that mental nut, Michelle is still in? Seriously, ABC told Jake to keep her just for the editing and drama and she better go next week or I'm gonna cry fowl......

It's down to fifteen....

Tenley got the first impression rose! (She wasn't my choice to get it) ABC probably had a hand to that one!

The other fourteen that got roses are....

Ella
Elizabeth (NE)
Ali
Vienna
Christina
Gia
Ashley
Rozlyn
Jessie
Corrie
Valishia
Ashleigh
Kathryn
and yes, that nut, Michelle!

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love' premiere

First, let me start this season by saying Happy New Year to you all. I hope this new year has greeted all of you well and it is my hope that it is a wonderful, successful year for us all. A little irony to start this new season off: Iím home for the holidays and writing this first blog sitting in Dallas, Texas, which also happens to be the hometown of our new bachelor Jake. In fact, he came over and we spent some time together watching football on New Yearís Day. Heís a good Texas boy who I think youíll grow to like more and more as the season goes on. Because time is short Iím simultaneously prepping for my TV Guide Network red carpet hosting duties by watching Inglourious Basterds while I write this. I doubt this is how Quentin Tarantino would want me to be experiencing his film but you gotta multitask you know.

I just released a list of ten of my favorite Bachelor/Bachelorette moments of all time in Entertainment Weekly. I have to admit that while those were some of my faves, those are purely ďTVĒ moments and theyíre not exactly what I remember most about my time on this show. Teaching Aaron Burge to drive a Maserati on the PCH (while network execs looked on in horror), sitting around the fire with Ryan and Tristaís family and friends trading stories the night before their wedding, gaining a love and appreciation of wine with Andrew Firestone, tossing the pigskin and talking football with Jesse Palmer (still havenít gotten my Roger Staubach throwback jersey, Jesse), living in Paris and Rome with my family, stalking Bono on his yacht (Iíll explain this story later this season) ó those are some of moments that have really stuck with me over the years, and the kinds of moments I will truly remember and cherish.

Couple things you may have noticed that are very different about this season. First of all, weíre in HD. This would have been awesome news about eight years ago. Iím only slightly excited now as Iím kind of on the back side of my HD quality days, if you know what I mean. Damn you, technology. The other big difference, and I know you all love this, no lengthy teases and recaps heading into commercial breaks. I love this too and think it gives us that much more time to show you the women and, of course, Jake. Iím sure you noticed weíre back at the same house weíve now used for the last few years. Your first inside scoop about Jake is that he loves to fly but doesnít love motorcycles all that much, but I think weíll all agree he looks damn cool on one. I have to say this is a pretty impressive group of women and Iím anxious to read what you all have to say. As is always the case, the limo arrivals gave us many cringe-worthy ďbless her heartĒ moments. Ali with the peacock feather, still have no idea what that was about. I do have to give Ali credit as she was deathly ill with the flu and did everything she could just to get well enough to say hello to Jake that first night. Jessie, ďdo you have registration for those guns.Ē Ron Burgundy called and wants his line back. Vienna just went straight for the abs, sure most women have no problem with that tactic. Ashleigh, no, not Ashley with the Jake-Ashley spinner (what?), the Ashleigh who pulled off a magnificent fake trip into Jakeís arms. Iím sure many of you spent the night debating with friends if the trip into his arms was fake and the answer is yes. She admitted later to Jake that she fell into his arms on purpose. Chevy Chase couldnít pull off a pratfall that good on his best day. Might have dated myself with that reference. The other Ashley is the one who put on the flight attendant uniform to impress Jake. Not sure if it worked on Jake but it definitely didnít impress Kathryn, who is a real flight attendant and was a bit annoyed with the stereotype.

One of the more interesting moments of the night I loved was the football game. Elizabeth and Jake were out front tossing the ball and talking. Then all of a sudden there were 25 women in cocktail dresses and heels playing a full-on football game. Not sure if you could tell but it was blondes vs. brunettes. For the record, the brunettes won the game. The good news is the blondes didnít realize it. Sorry, blondes, too easy! Jessie was by far the player of the game, dominating with 5 TDís. Iíve heard from many women, and some men, that Jake has an amazing body but I will call him out on this ó the guy kinda throws like a girl. See, he isnít perfect.

It was great to have Jillian and Ed back in the house. She is such a spark and itís good to see that despite what was ďreported,Ē they are great and looking forward to a wedding. If any of you had a game going at home, yes, there was a reference to the mile high club already. But it was Channy who took the pilot analogies to a whole other level by telling Jake he could ďland his plane on her landing strip.Ē Wow, thatís aggressive in any language!

I think one of the best parts about episode 1 is the super tease at the end of the show. No doubt you saw or heard about the controversy next week surrounding one of the bachelorettes. Iím sure you will read and hear more about this situation this week and I promise I will talk in much more detail about it in next weekís blog. For now I will leave you with this. It was very unfortunate that two adults decided to selfishly make the decisions they made. They forced me and the show into a very tough spot. It had to be dealt with and next week youíll see exactly what I mean. This is a very good season and I hope this incident wonít draw much attention for long. Jake and this group of women have a lot to offer and if youíve ever been a fan of this show you will love what youíre about to experience. As always, I love reading your comments below. Good, bad, or ugly, bring it on. You can also find me on Facebook or on Twitter @chrisbharrison. Until next week, crank up ďOn the Wings of LoveĒ in your head and letís do this!

Bachelor Blog: Jake Admits ĎI Was So Nervousí

Hello all,

I want to start off by saying what a great looking group of women! I wasnít nervous until the first limo pulled up and beautiful Rozyln, the first bachelorette of the night very elegantly stepped out and approached me. My tie became a snake around my neck. I was so nervous! The most memorable moment meeting the women was with the stunning Ashley H. Itís not everyday that I get be a hero. She swears that her fall into my arms was on purpose. Lol. I donít buy it!

Several hours passed at the cocktail party before my nerves started to settle down a bit. I was so fidgety! The Bachelor Bowl football game was an awesome breath of fresh air. Thank you Elizabeth! Blondes vs. Brunettes. This impromptu game really told me a lot about the character of the women. Most of them, in their sequined gowns, kicked off their heels and played a very competitive game. Poor Jesse jumped into a huge rosebush trying to catch a stray pass. Okay, so I did read Chris Harrisonís blog that says I throw like a girl Ö Lol! Chris, lets see how well you can throw a football in a fitted suit jacket without ripping it.

It was so awesome to see Jillian and Ed, who are truly a perfect match. A super honorable thing that you didnít get to see was Jillian giving me back the silver wings I gave her out of the limo on The Bachelorette.

All I can say is I wish there was more time. The evening just flew by. There were some extremely wonderful and memorable women that went home the first night but after the evening was over, I was very confident that I had made great choices. ĖJake

ABC Press Release:

SPARKS FLY AS JAKE AND ONE LUCKY WOMAN STEAM UP THE NIGHT IN PALM SPRINGS,
BUT IN A SHOCKING FIRST, ONE BACHELORETTE OVERSTEPS HER BOUNDS WITH DISASTEROUS RESULTS AND HAVING A ROSE WON'T BE ENOUGH,
ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE," MONDAY, JANUARY 11

Rock Superstar Group Chicago's Private Performance Sends Sparks Flying
Between Jake and One Lucky Lady, and the Claws Come Out at an
Exciting InStyle Magazine Photo Shoot

"Episode 1402" - The 15 remaining bachelorettes move into their luxurious villa in Malibu, and the fairy tale begins. One lucky woman will get a fabulous one-on-one date: Jake will personally pilot the bachelorette to a romantic desert getaway in Palm Springs, where they will be serenaded by rock superstar group Chicago. One group date will give six women a chance to strut their stuff in a sexy photo shoot for InStyle Magazine, and the five women on the other group date are treated to a VIP visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain. However, some of the women will not have a date at all before the next rose ceremony, encouraging them to aggressively steal any time they can with the handsome pilot. But nothing can prepare Jake for the bombshell that will be dropped. For the first time in "Bachelor" history, having rose isn't enough, on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, JANUARY 11 (8:00-10:02 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

The first group date of the season is a runway thriller, with Jake taking six women to a glamorous photo shoot for InStyle magazine. The bachelorettes are excited to discover that they will be featured in the February issue (on sale January 15), but the competition for Jake's attention, as well as time in front of the camera, is intense. Gia and Rozlyn are models and Christina is intimidated by their immense confidence posing for the camera with Jake. At an after shoot wrap party at the Santa Monica Hotel Shangri-La pool, Ashleigh isn't taking any chances that she'll be forgotten and busts in on Jake and Gia dressed only in a bikini.

Jake hijacks one lucky woman, draped in diamonds, on the back of his motorcycle to the airport. He reveals that he personally will pilot a private plane to take her to Palm Springs, and they fly off into the sunset for a romantic dream date. Jake has an even bigger surprise in store for the bachelorette, escorting her to a polo field in Palm Springs for a private concert by the classic rock superstar band Chicago. Things get hot as the couple enjoys a slow, sexy dance to "You're the Inspiration."

The next day, five women are whisked off the Six Flags Magic Mountain, where Jake makes sure they're treated like VIPs and the amusement park is closed down just for them. As the women jockey for face time with the handsome Bachelor, Elizabeth pulls Jake away for some private time and a surprising revelation: she says she won't kiss him unless he puts a ring on her finger. But the games get more serious as Vienna shares the story of her heartbreaking marriage at 17. Not to be outdone, Ashley steals Jake away, hoping to get a kiss. As the day winds down, Jake needs to give a rose to the woman he wants to share the rest of the evening with at a private fireworks display.

At the emotional and dramatic cocktail party, the three women who didn't get dates vie for Jake's attention. One even breaks down in tears as she explains how much she cares for him. But never before has such a bolt from the blue been leveled at a Bachelor. One of the 15 bachelorettes has crossed a line that should never have been crossed - with devastating results. Chris Harrison pulls Jake aside to share the shocking news, and for the first time in "Bachelor" history, having a rose isn't enough! Twelve women will remain in the race for Jake's heart.

The 15 women are:

Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA
Ashleigh, 25, an account manager from North Potomac, MD
Ashley, 29, a teacher from Pittsburgh, PA
Christina, 25, a restaurant manager from San Diego, CA
Corrie, 23, a wardrobe consultant from Kissimmee, FL
Elizabeth, 29, a nanny from Imperial, NE
Ella, 30, a hair stylist from Lafollette, TN
Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY
Jessie, 25, a cosmetic sales manager from Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Kathryn, 25, a corporate flight attendant from Lexington, KY
Michelle, 26, an office manager from Anaheim, CA
Rozlyn, 28, a model/makeup artist from Richmond, VA
Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Valishia, 32, a homemaker from Carlsbad, CA
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': season 14, episode 2

Itís been a wild week in Bachelor-ville and we have a lot to discuss, but first let me thank you for making our premiere episode such a huge success.  I would love to talk to you about other stuff this week like Aliís cool ĒChicagoĒ date or the games Elizabethís starting to play but the whole time all youíre doing is staring at the ten-ton pink elephant standing in the middle of the room so letís just deal with it shall we?  I hope you all had a chance to see for yourself just what happened involvingÖ Rozlyn. The great thing about this blog is now I can take you even deeper into what exactly happened, give you more details, and tell you how it all went down.

You heard me say in the episode that Rozlyn and one of our staffers entered into an inappropriate relationship.  I realize this is somewhat vague and open to interpretation, so let me be more specific.  It was an inappropriate relationship that got physical. This was not just about one personís ĒfeelingsĒ for another. We would never go to such extremes because of a schoolyard crush.  After extensive research and doing our homework we came to the conclusion without a shadow of a doubt that an inappropriate relationship had occurred. Now the million dollar question: How do we know this?  First of all, several girls in the house independently witnessed  the inappropriate behavior firsthand, and they came forward and told producers what was taking place.  Second, the staffer came forward and confessed everything himself.  He told executive producers everything about his inappropriate physical relationship with Rozlyn.  As I clearly stated on the show last night, we took what happened very seriously and this staffer was let go immediately. With what you saw last night and with what I just told you there should now be no doubt or questions whatsoever as to what really happened during Rozlynís short time on the show.  I can also tell you here that since Rozlyn left the show she and the staffer have continued their relationship and have seen each other several times.  Let me be very clear that as unfortunate as all this was there are no ill feelings toward anybody involved and we wish both of them well.  In the little time I got to know her, Rozlyn was a very nice young lady and in no way would I ever want to add any undue stress or embarrassment to her life.  So thatís what happened, now let me tell you exactly how it happened.

I arrived to the second rose ceremony just like any other day, but things quickly changed.  Executive producers pulled me aside and told me pretty much word for word what I just wrote above.  At this point the cocktail party had already started and Jake, the ladies, and the majority of the crew knew nothing about what was going on and were continuing as usual.  Once the executive producers gave me the details there was no question as to what had to happen.  In the past there have been things, like Wes last season, where we want real life scenarios to play out for the bachelor or bachelorette.  But on this occasion, a line was crossed that just couldnít be tolerated and it had to be dealt with immediately.  Executive producers told me that I would be the one that would pull Rozlyn aside and explain to her that we knew everything about her relationship with our staffer and that she would have to leave the show immediately.  They also informed me that I would also then have to tell Jake and the women.

I canít begin to tell you how uncomfortable this made me feel.  I honestly felt sick to my stomach. I donít know if you noticed in the episode but when I first started talking to her outside I had to pause because I got a little choked up.  I was emotional and I can easily say this was one of the toughest things Iíve had to deal with in the eight years Iíve been hosting this show.  I thought Rozlyn handled it very well and was dignified about the whole thing.  Talking to Rozlyn was tough but telling Jake just flat out sucked.  I knew that he really liked this girl and she was, in fact, one of his frontrunners at the time.  At first Jake was pissed and I canít blame him.  No doubt some of that anger was directed at us and deservedly so.

Iím sure you could tell but I was pretty much flying by the seat of my pants.  There is no formula for this and we really had no idea exactly how Jake would respond.  He quickly composed himself and decided that he wanted to be with me when I told the other women.  I have to give Jake a ton of credit.  I donít know if I could have been as composed having just heard that kind of news.  By the time Jake and I joined the women they had seen Rozlyn leave and obviously knew something major had just taken place.  You could cut the tension in that room with a knife when we entered.  The women were already emotional and I hadnít even told them what happened yet.  As I was telling them what exactly happened all I remember is the look in their eyes and how deadly quiet it was in that room.  You also have to remember that not all of the crew knew and many of them were finding out as I gave these speeches so they were also stunned.  The mood and feeling in the house that night was unlike anything Iíve experienced on this show, and I hope it will be the last time.  You also need to understand that this was one of our co-workers and for many a very good friend who had been involved in this and was suddenly not there anymore.  So it was a very emotional night for our crew as well.  This is the first time where everybody in the house, us included, had to come to grips with something like this at the same time.

To sum all of this up just let me say again that I wish nothing but the best for these two, I really do.  This was an unfortunate incident that played out before all of our eyes.  As I said on the show we were not only disappointed but we were a little embarrassed as well.  However, since The Bachelor is a reality show it means being truthful about what happened and showing everything that occurred even if it makes us uncomfortable. We take great pride in this show and I will tell you that we have one of the most amazing crews in the business.  We have become a tight knit family over the last eight years and it is my sincere hope that we never have to deal with an incident like this ever again.  Thank you for all your support and this incident aside we have a phenomenal season ahead of us.  I know you will have comments about this and Iím sure more questions.  I hope I was able to dispel many wild unfounded rumors and in doing so answer many of your questions in the process.  I will be reading your comments and as usual you can always find me on Facebook and Twitter (@chrisbharrison).

Jakeís Bachelor Blog: Being Cheated On ĎSucksí

Hey Everyone!

Wow Ö well, despite all of the drama that happened with Rozlyn, I was, and still am, so impressed by this group of women. They are all so beautiful and I seriously feel like the luckiest guy in the world.

Before we get to Rozlyn, letís talk about the dates! The InStyle photo shoot date was a blast. I was so excited to tell the women what we were doing that day because I had a feeling they were going to be thrilled to do a real photo shoot. I mean, what woman doesnít want to put on designer clothes and be professionally photographed? Well, I guess Christina doesnít. She was so nervous and I have no idea why! She doesnít know how beautiful she is. I canít wait to see the photos in the February issue of InStyle. I was so nervous on that date because Iíve never been the kind of guy to date more than one girl at once and here I was on a date with six women! Thatís why the attention Rozlyn gave me was nice. It felt good to be pursued, but now I donít understand why she would do that given what happened before the rose ceremony.

One of my favorite dates that Iíve ever been on was getting to fly with Ali to Palm Springs. There is nothing cooler than being in a plane with a woman you really like and Ali is definitely a doll face. I was especially excited since I knew flying was a fear of hers and I believed I could help her conquer those fears. I was actually surprised at how comfortable she was flying with me in a small airplane and was so proud of her for doing the takeoff all on her own! Flying was nothing compared to the 300-yard dash we had to do to see Chicago across that polo field! We were both so winded by the time we got there.

I was really impressed with Elizabeth when I met her. She is so pretty and cool and I absolutely respected the fact that she didnít want me to kiss her. BUT, when we were sitting there watching the fireworks, I really wanted it be a romantic and sincere moment. Unfortunately, I felt like she used the time to start playing games. I have never been one for game playing with a girl and I definitely canít deal with it. That was very disappointing. To kiss or not to kiss is the question, Elizabeth. Youíll have to watch Ellen on January 18th Ö she has a lot to say about Elizabeth!

So hereís one thing to remember when you watch this season: Unless one of the other women tells me about it or unless I see it, I donít know it happens. I say that because Iíve been getting a lot of heat about giving Michelle a rose. When I decided to do this show, I made a promise to myself that on the first night, I would keep women that laid out their feelings for me and were really open. Michelle is nothing but honest and sincere and man, sheís really pretty too! But yeah, I was a bit surprised to see how emotional she was with all the other women.

Iíll wrap this up with what Iím sure everyone is talking about ó Rozlyn. Yes, the rumors of her cheating on me with a staff member are 100 percent true, with no embellishment. I was having such a great night and then Chris Harrison approached me and the guy looked flustered! Iíve never seen this guy flustered about anything. I think he was embarrassed about what had happened. When he told me the news, my heart dropped and I felt numb.

This is the first time I have been cheated on (to my knowledge) and man, it sucks. I had started to develop feelings for Rozlyn and thatís why I had given her a rose. But what also hurt was the fact that I was friends with the staff member who engaged in the affair. That was hard to swallow. I was so hurt by both of their decisions, but I reminded myself that I still had 14 amazing women there for me, so I composed myself and moved on. After Rozlyn left the show, a few of the girls admitted that they saw her and the staff member inappropriately physical with each other Ö to put it politically correct. Honestly, I harbor no ill will towards either of them and wish them both the best in life and career. Hopefully they are still together and in love!

Well, thanks again for watching. I am so excited to finally get to share the last few months of my life with you! Ė Jake

Article posted prior to the airing of last night's episode:

Bachelor Contestant Calls Sex Scandal a ĎBlatant Lieí

ďIt seems they want the ratings!Ē

Those are the angry words of The Bachelor contestant Rozlyn Papa, who left the show following accusations she had an ďinappropriate relationshipĒ with a producer.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Papa flatly denies that she cheated on the seasonís star, Jake Pavelka. Asked whether she had sex with a member of The Bachelorís production team, Papa says, ďAbsolutely not, no.Ē

The showís host Chris Harrison, who called the scandal ďincredibly unfortunateĒ and said ďhorrible decisions were made,Ē talked about addressing the situation on camera.

ďIt was embarrassing for us,Ē Harrison said. ďIn fairness to Jake and for the other women, [we said], ĎLetís nip this in the bud and take care of it.í And thatís what we did.Ē

But according to Papa, the allegations have taken a toll. ďThis seeps into my personal life,Ē she says. ďI have a 7-year-old little boy at home that I want to look up to me, and to have this blatant lie out there perpetuated by the show itself ó itís hurtful. Itís scary to think what my son will think of me.Ē

Papa does admit to being a ďgood friendĒ of the producer with whom sheís rumored to have had the affair ó and that her relationship with him provided her no advantage on the show.

ďI would absolutely call him a friend,Ē she says. ďIím really happy to have him as a friend.

Papa says she is dreading the airing of tonightís episode of The Bachelor (8 p.m. EST) on ABC. ďIím afraid Ö Iíll be portrayed as a cheater,Ē she says. ďIt really comes down to my son. Why would you go on national television and throw a mom under the bus like that?Ē

Seriously.....this has got to be kidding me!

Bachelor and Bachelorette All-Star Show Coming to ABC

Old rivalries and dramas from past seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will get new life this year as ABC is creating a spin-off show in which former contestants will live and compete together in a Big Brother-style house.

The show, titled Bachelor Pad, will bring back 20 memorable contestants from the previous 13 Bachelor and five Bachelorette seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporterís Live Feed blog. Itís expected to premiere in late summer.

ďAll these people have been friends, been enemies, they date each other and bring all this great backstory to the show,Ē says executive producer Martin Hilton. ďIt seemed like there was an opportunity to combine that world with a new competitive reality show.Ē

The contestants havenít been revealed, but Hilton said top players and former winners are on board. The show will feature various challenges, some inspired by incidents from past seasons. Contestants will be booted from the house at the end of each episode. And Bachelor and Bachelorette host Chris Harrison has signed on to emcee.

ABC press release:

JAKE SHOCKINGLY SENDS ONE WOMAN HOME ON THE SPOT AFTER BEING PUSHED  TOO HARD, AND THE WOMEN ISOLATE ONE BACHELORETTE AND MAKE HER A TARGET,  ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE," MONDAY, JANUARY 18

"Episode 1403" - Tensions mount among the 12 remaining bachelorettes and jealousy reigns when it's revealed that there will be two special one-on-one dates - each with a rose at stake -- and a group date. Once again, some women will not go on a date at all. One ecstatic woman hops on Jake's motorcycle and then on a helicopter for one of the most adventurous dates yet: a bungee jump off the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. Eight bachelorettes visit Jon Lovitz' popular Hollywood comedy club. But laughter turns to anxiety when they learn they each will perform a standup routine - not just for Jake, but a packed house. On the last individual date, Jake whisks another lucky woman away to Sea World in San Diego, where a huge surprise awaits. Finally, a rift forms in the house with all the women pitted against one bachelorette who claims to be there only to win Jake's heart, leading to an explosive rose ceremony, on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, JANUARY 18 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

One woman's elation at being alone with Jake turns to apprehension when the couple's chopper lands on a towering bridge nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains. She becomes a nervous wreck when it becomes apparent that they will bungee jump off the Bridge to Nowhere. Ironically, Jake is also afraid of heights. Will they both overcome their fears and take a leap of faith together, or will Jake send her home without a rose?

Curtain up! Eight bachelorettes visit the famous Jon Lovitz Comedy Club. After sharing a few jokes with the women, Lovitz explains that they will be the ones performing stand up in his club that night. The fun and panic begins, especially for Ashleigh, who starts to break down with bad case of stage fright. One more surprise: they will be working in front of a full audience, not just Jake. One by one, the bachelorettes nervously perform their routines. Corrie lampoons a fellow bachelorette, while Elizabeth pushes the bounds of good taste and Michelle starts to get flop sweat when her jokes fall flat. Later Jake takes the women to a VIP after party and tries to get alone time with some of them. But the night takes a shocking turn when one bachelorette pushes him too far and he unexpectedly sends her home on the spot and ends the party.

The next morning, Jake picks up a lucky bachelorette with a helicopter right in the mansion's driveway. As the rest of the women enviously look on, they fly off to San Diego's Sea World. The entire park is closed down for them; however he stuns her with another bigger surprise. But is their connection strong enough for Jake to give her a rose?

A tension-filled cocktail party reveals a division in the house, with one woman dramatically set against the rest of the bachelorettes. Is she really there just for Jake, as she claims? At the end of the contentious night, nine women continue on the fairytale journey.

The 12 women are:

Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA
Ashleigh, 25, an account manager from North Potomac, MD
Corrie, 23, a wardrobe consultant from Kissimmee, FL
Elizabeth, 29, a nanny from Imperial, NE
Ella, 30, a hair stylist from Lafollette, TN
Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY
Jessie, 25, a cosmetic sales manager from Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Kathryn, 25, a corporate flight attendant from Lexington, KY
Michelle, 26, an office manager from Anaheim, CA
Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Valishia, 32, a homemaker from Carlsbad, CA
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

The Bachelor Blog: Jake Takes the Plunge

I want to start by remembering the people that were lost this past week in Haiti ó and their families. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in such a terrible natural disaster.

There were some seriously strong opinions commented here this past week and a specifically strong reaction to my comment on cheating. I understand why you feel that way, considering Iím dating multiple women, but let me explain my point of view. When you sign up for this show, you know the premise. One guy dates multiple women, just like on The Bachelorette when one woman dates multiple men. When I was on The Bachelorette, watching Jillian date other guys was really hard, but that was what I signed up for. I never wouldíve expressed interest in someone else while I was vying for Jillianís affection. And I definitely wouldnít have sought out a relationship with somebody else. I made a promise to her that I was there for her and to find love, and thatís what I expect from the women that are on the show this season. Call it what you will, but I did like Rozlyn and it hurt to know that she had kissed me the night before, accepted a rose and told me how she was looking forward to getting to know me better, all the while engaging in another relationship. Enough said. I moved on then and Iím moving on now.

As you all now know, Iím terribly afraid of heights. I seriously get freaked out when Iím on bridges, tall buildings, etc. Seems kind of silly for a pilot, I know. I felt bad for Vienna because I was so quiet on the first part of our date. She probably thought I was bored or didnít like her but I was just very nervous. She had no clue what we were doing until the helicopter pilot slipped and told her two minutes before we landed. She started to freak out! When I stepped out on to the edge of the bridge, I had never felt fear like that in my life! I was petrified! My whole body went numb. Luckily Vienna has a real nurturing side to her and that helped me to take the plunge. I think it also brought us a lot closer. We conquered our fears together.

The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club date was a blast! My sides were hurting from some of the girlsí routines, whether they were funny or not. Corrieís routine about Vienna really set the tone for the rest of the night. Every time I would sit down and talk to a girl at the afterparty, she would spend her time with me putting down the other women. Apparently there was more truth to those comedy routines than I thought. I really thought I would come into this season and have a pretty smooth run. Boy was I wrong. Drama!

Letís talk about Michelle. She is one of the most sincere people Iíve ever met but the pressure from this environment clearly became too much for her. It felt like she was begging me to release her from this journey. She was miserable and honestly it made me feel bad for her Ö and yet she was really surprised when I asked her to leave.

And then we have Elizabeth; that girl was confusing the hell out of me. Ladies, please remember: Rules to Successful Dating, 101 ó Donít play games! Especially when time is very limited. I got upset, she got upset. Not a good start to a relationship.

Okay, here are some answers to a couple of questions I got last week:

1. Iím driving a 2007 Triumph Bonneville. Its like the new T100 but doesnít have the two-tone paint. Itís an AWESOME bike!

2. I work out with two trainers in Dallas. (Cat and Dom Colona). My workouts consist of medium to heavy weight with iso/bio-metric exercises. Lots and lots of core and abdominal training and remember, working out is 80 percent diet.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': Season 14, episode 3

Alright everybody, take a deep breath. Now again. Okay, lets move on shall we. Hope you got the chance to watch Carrie Ann Inaba and me Sunday on TV Guide Network covering the red carpet for the Golden Globes. A big thanks to all the stars who stopped by to chat with us. Now lets talk Bachelor!

The girls were not at all happy that Vienna got the first one-on-one date this week. But it was when she came home with a rose that the trouble really began. Iíll get to that in just a bit. The first stop they made was Jakeís house. If it looked a little familiar thatís because that was Jasonís house as well. I know itís not his and I know it only happens on TV but when a helicopter picks you up for a date, thatís just awesome. It was clear on the show that Jake and Vienna didnít want to bungee jump but that didnít really do justice to just how freakiní terrified they really were. They were hyperventilating and it took about 20 minutes for them to decide to jump. We really thought they werenít going to do it but in the end they gutted up and took the plunge. The instructors asked if they would do it again to which they both quickly said no! That had to be the most panic-stricken, torturous date weíve ever had. Iíd like to think theyíre both better people because of overcoming their fears and all that psychological mumbo jumbo but Iím guessing all they got was the crap scared out of them. Jake and Vienna really hit it off but when Vienna came back with a rose it really set the girls off. She so alienated herself that all the other girls literally moved out of her room. She joked about how much she liked having her own room but it really did bother her. She really didnít understand why everybody turned against her.

Next came the group date to the comedy club ó or as Jake likes to call it, the day from hell. Tenley turned herself into a human pretzel (she was always doing this around the house as well). It was really strange to see Ashleigh so nervous and terrified. I chalk it up to her intense fear of Jon Lovitz developed as a child watching Saturday Night Live (I may have made that last part up). The comedy was pretty bad but not nearly as bad as the emotional mess that was the after party. It seemed like Jake was dealing with one crying woman after another. By the time he got to Michelle he had clearly had enough. I was proud to see Jake call her bluff. Sending her home was a big turning point in this show. Up to that point the girls thought Jake might be too nice to send anybody home from a date. This really kicked things up a notch and the women were extremely impressed. The girls clearly made a pact to tell Jake their feelings about Vienna but he really wished they would spend that time talking about themselves rather than somebody else.

Gia was one of the ladies who didnít get a date this week. You didnít get a chance to see this but she was much more concerned about Ella getting time with Jake and she really didnít make a big deal out of how disappointed she was. I thought that was very cool and showed a very caring side of her we hadnít seen up to that point. It took a lot of work and planning but getting Ethan to surprise Ella on the date to Sea World was worth it. Itís really great to see a single mom like Ella that is so selfless, so caring, get a gift like that. Jake obviously loves kids and wants a family himself. He told me that was one of the most memorable dates of the season. For you Bachelor historians out there, I hope you enjoyed the irony of Ella mentioning Ryan and Trista on that date as they too had a date at Sea World during their season. I talked to Trista this week and she told me she still sleeps with the stuffed Shamu she got on that date. They went back to Sea World last year and now their little boy Max has a stuffed Shamu as well. Iím guessing one of the biggest surprises this week was seeing Elizabeth not get a rose and be sent home. Jake found that Elizabeth wasnít just a tease but she was a confusing tease (deadly combo). She was such a confusing tease, she even confused herself. Jake didnít have the time or patience for this and made a tough but good call following his heart.

Emotions are clearly running high in the house and you can say the same for Jake. The more the women see Jake step up and take control and show just how sincere he really is, the more the feelings and tension build. I hope you saw the tease for next weekís show as we hit the road for a drama-filled road trip and what turned out to be a wild rose ceremony. Before I leave you this week I do want to say Iím pretty upset about something and I think you know what that is. How could we go an entire episode and not hear ĒOn The Wings Of LoveĒ? Just wanted to make sure I got that in your head again. Thank you for all the comments youíve left this season. Iíve read just about all of them. Yes, all of them, good, bad, and some just downright mean but I love and respect them all just the same. You can always find me on Facebook and Twitter (@chrisbharrison)

ABC press release:

Tuesday, January 19, 2010
ABC Television Network
PRESS RELEASE - PRESS RELEASE - ENTERTAINMENT -
ON THE NEXT BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE (1/25)

JAKE AND THE WOMEN TAKE A LIVELY TRIP UP THE SCENIC CALIFORNIA COAST,
BUT THE BACHELOR IS FACED WITH HEARTBREAKING DECISIONS,
LEADING HIM TO SHOCKING CHOICES AND ASTONISHING DEPARTURES, ON
ABC'S "THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE," MONDAY, JANUARY 25

"Episode 1404" - The Bachelor surprises the nine remaining women with a road trip up the picturesque California coast. Along the way, Jake will have roses at the ready on a one-on-one date, a group date and a dramatic two-on-one date, where only one woman can receive a rose. One lucky woman will snag an intimate date with Jake at a beautiful winery, but it will be up to the Bachelor to see if opposites really do attract. Six women will accompany Jake on a wild day of dune buggying, but with just one rose, the competition turns fierce. A romantic date with two anxious bachelorettes has Jake wondering if he can make a difficult choice. But, in the end, he makes some heartbreaking and shocking decisions that lead to unexpected exits, setting off a firestorm of emotions among the women, on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, JANUARY 25 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

The women fill up two rock star-type RVs and head up the panoramic coast highway to a vineyard in Santa Ynez where Jake arrives and delivers a date card. A very nervous bachelorette discovers her name on the card, but this city gal is dressed more for a night on the town, not an outdoor date in the country. Will Jake and woman discover that opposites attract? Or will she go home without a rose?

The following morning, the group hits the road, travelling to beautiful Pismo Beach, where they set up camp on the beach. Six lucky women join Jake for a crazy day of dune buggying and sand surfing. The Bachelor comes to the rescue when Vienna and Jessie get their dune buggy trapped in the sand. Corrie, one of the more timid women, surprises the rest when she tackles Jake in the sand and grabs some extra time with the Bachelor. That night the group spends an evening at the Madonna Inn, famous for its outrageous décor. A rose is a stake and the competition heats up, but Vienna's strategy to have the last memorable moment of the night with Jake doesn't sit well with the other women.

Our travelers drive up the dramatic northern California coast to stunning Big Sur and set up camp among the towering redwoods. That night Jake takes two apprehensive bachelorettes on a two-on-one date where only one can receive a rose. The threesome share a quiet dinner in Jake's cabin in the woods. He takes each woman aside, hoping that his heart will lead him to make the right decision.

The rose ceremony looms and Jake realizes he needs to make some heartbreaking choices. He is determined to stand by his promise not to lead any of the women on if he knew they couldn't become his wife in the end, and now he must face some hard truths. His shocking choices lead to unexpected departures, throwing the women into a tailspin of emotions. In the end, only five women will remain in the hunt for Jake's heart.

The nine women are:

Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA
Ashleigh, 25, an account manager from North Potomac, MD
Corrie, 23, a wardrobe consultant from Kissimmee, FL
Ella, 30, a hair stylist from Lafollette, TN
Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY
Jessie, 25, a cosmetic sales manager from Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Kathryn, 25, a corporate flight attendant from Lexington, KY
Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': season 14, episode 4

It has been another great week for The Bachelor and I want to thank all of you for already making this season such a huge success. This has been one of the most emotional seasons we have ever had. I understand this has also been an emotional season for you as well. Some of that emotion has turned into anger and some of that anger has been aimed towards me in the comments. Iím perfectly okay with this and appreciate the honesty. I do want to mention one particular comment that really impressed my wife and I. V wrote a comment early last Tuesday afternoon and it was awesome. I highly recommend you all go back and read it, as it was as nasty as it was eloquent. I must admit I had to look up a lot of the words she used but V, you rocked the rant.

This week I really enjoyed surprising the girls with the RVís and the road trip. While they were extremely excited at first I donít think they really understood this was a true road trip and they would be roughing it. Most of the girls wore high heels when they got on the RVís. Once they realized how it was going to be most of them went and changed except for Ashleigh who kept the heels on! When they were getting on the RVís Ali and Vienna went in separate directions. They wanted nothing to do with one another.

The girls cooked a lot of campfire food but the snack of choice was smores. These girls put away some smores but Corrie took the cake. That girl ate 8-10 smores a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Gia got the one-on-one date this week. Jake told me this was ďa hot date.Ē Iím not sure whatís harder to believe, Jake didnít kiss a girl till the 11th grade or the fact that they played spin the bottle. Jake told me heíd never played spin the bottle before. I was going to tell him about seven minutes in heaven but I donít think heís ready for that yet. At the end of this date, if you listen close youíll hear the piano version of ďOn the Wings of Love.Ē This is one of my favorite versions of this song.

The group date started at Pismo beach. We all learned a good lesson at the beginning of this date. If you drive a huge RV onto soft sand it will get stuck. The date was held up for quite some time while we called tow trucks to come haul the RVís out of the sand. Lesson learned! If you ever get the chance, spend a night at the Madonna Inn. If you couldnít tell, each room is named and has a theme. If youíre up for a fun night at a freaky hotel this is your spot. Two things with the girls really stood out on this date. Jake and Ashleigh had no chemistry together. He wanted there to be something but there just wasnít. The other thing was Viennaís attitude finally got to Jake. Her telling everybody she wanted to go last kind of set Jake off and he let her have it a bit during their one-on-one time. The two-on-one date was tough for everybody this week. The girls really liked Ella and Kathryn. Both these girls are very sweet and they didnít want to compete with one another. Ella was a bit more aggressive and Kathryn really didnít use her time wisely but in the end it didnít matter. When Ellaís bags were taken away the women were stunned but when Kathrynís bags were also taken the ladies were absolutely floored and a couple of them started to cry.

The rose ceremony was especially cool this week. It was held at a beautiful mansion in Saratoga called Villa Montalvo. Itís now a historic landmark located in a state park. The Villa is named for the popular 16th-century writer Garcia Ordonez de Montalvo, who coined the name ďCalifornia.Ē As you can see, I have a lot of time on my hands when Iím on the road. Okay, the history lesson is over. Time to talk about this rose ceremony. Jake decided himself to come and talk to me. Clearly, we werenít exactly expecting it and the producers had to find me. I was out in the courtyard waiting to go in and announce the final rose. Depending on where we hold the ceremony sometimes I canít hear or see whatís going on and I have to wait to be told to go inside. Needless to say I was a little surprised to see Jake come walking out looking for me. When he started talking to me he was bumbling over his words a bit and I had no idea what he was talking about or what he wanted. We finally did get it figured out and as you saw I took a rose away. I really respect the fact that Jake took it upon himself to send four girls home this week when he didnít have to. This guy isnít messing around. If he doesnít feel it for somebody he would rather send them home instead of drag it out and take more time away from the women he really does have a connection with. Vienna getting that final rose really set the other women off, especially Ali. They really donít like each other and things only seem to be getting worse between them.

A couple of things before I let you go this week. Iím really excited to be on Ellen Wednesday. Sheís so good at what she does; I always enjoy my time with her. Yes, Iíll admit I have a bit of a crush. I also want to tell you how excited I am to be a part of our new show Bachelor Pad coming to ABC this summer. I wonít bore you with details yet but weíve wanted to do an ďall-starĒ show for some time now and this is the perfect way to do it without messing with our other shows. The cast is not set but you will be seeing many of your favorites from seasons past! It will be a fun summer show and I canít wait to get to work on it. Speaking of work, I hope youíll join Carrie Ann Inaba and me on the Grammy Red Carpet pre-show this Sunday on TV Guide Network. Have a great week and as always Iíll be reading those comments. V, see if you can outdo yourself this week. You can find me on Facebook and Twitter @chrisbharrison.

The Bachelor Blog: Jake Hits the Road

Hey there! So, tell me the truth: Last week did I look as tired and as emotionally exhausted as I felt?! Man that drama was pretty intense. I thought leaving the mansion was going to help ease any tension amongst the women but I think it had the opposite effect. It was sort of sad to leave the house because I have some of the fondest memories of my life there.

Letís talk about the RVs for a second. I was so jealous! The women got these awesome RVs to travel up the coast in with running water, soft couches, a bed, and I rode a motorcycle with a stiff seat. The bike ride was great but it was a bit scary riding up Highway 1. The wind was howling around those passes and sharp curves and a couple of times I felt like the wind might lay the bike over. But with mountains on one side and ocean on the other, the breathtaking view made the ride worthwhile.

The dates felt a bit different being out of the comfort of Los Angeles. I was excited to go on a date with Gia because up to this point there was an attraction between us but I wasnít sure if we were really going to ďtake off.Ē I knew she could handle herself in an urban environment but what about a very simple date in a vineyard? I bet she had never cooked a weenie on an open flame before that night. I was so pleasantly surprised that Gia and I had SO much physical and emotional chemistry ó it was crazy! I actually had started to miss Gia before the date was even over.

The group date was awesome! Unfortunately we started about three hours late because both RVs got stuck in the sand on Pismo Beach and had to be towed to the campsite. Which reminds me! Donít drive a motorcycle on a soft-sanded beach! Itís harder than it looks. Speaking of being harder than it looks, sand surfing is exhausting. Vienna even sprained her ankle when she did a face plant. That sunset was gorgeous though ó one of the prettiest Iíve ever seen.

One of the toughest nights I experienced during this journey was the two-on-one date with Katherine and Ella. There was a definite attraction there with Ella but it broke my heart watching her say goodbye to her son Ethan at SeaWorld. Itís a lot of responsibility knowing that Iím keeping a woman away from her son while I try to figure out if weíre right for one another. It became apparent on the two-on-one that even though my attraction to Ella was strong, it wasnít enough to keep her away from her No. 1 man.

Then I looked at Katherine. She is such a beautiful woman but I knew that what we were missing was an emotional connection and if Iím not feeling it now, why drag it out any longer. I hope I made the right choice. I know both of these women are going to find their dream guy.

I already felt pretty exhausted by the time the rose ceremony came around. Corrie was really on the line at this point because she was having such a hard time opening up. Luckily she surprised me during our one-on-one time. The Corrie that I knew was there all along finally revealed herself and I got very excited about her! Itís so neat to watch someone start to fall. Having that breakthrough with Corrie only motivated my painful decision to have Chris take away one of the roses. But knowing what I had planned for San Francisco, my decision had to be solely based on wanting to maximize my time with the five women that I did connect with emotionally.

Hopefully Iíll leave my heart in San Francisco.

Well everyone, until then Ö thanks for watching!

Fly Safe!
Jake Pavelka

ABC press release:

WITH HOMETOWN DATES LOOMING, JAKE TRIES TO DISCOVER THE
BACHELORETTES' TRUE FEELINGS FOR HIM, BUT THE DRAMA CONTINUES
DURING A ROMANTIC WEEK IN SAN FRANCISCO, ON ABC'S
"THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1

"Episode 1405" - The pressure is really on, as Jake struggles to decide which four women he will escort home to meet their families. But first, the five remaining bachelorettes end their adventurous road trip in the romantic city of San Francisco. This week there will three individual dates and one two -on-one date, but no roses are at stake. The rivalry between the women intensifies and tensions are running high as their feelings for Jake grow, on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

On the first individual date, one of the bachelorettes joins Jake for a private trolley ride through Chinatown. The couple explore the neighborhood, sampling exotic foods and visiting a fortune cookie factory, writing their own fortunes - to be opened later. Afterward, Jake turns up the heat, taking the woman to the top of the historic Coit Tower for a private dinner with breathtaking views of the city. However, things take a serious turn when the two have a heart-to-heart talk about love, marriage and what they're looking for in a relationship. Will they see eye to eye on their possible future together?

Fireworks continue among the women as the competition for one of the hometown dates heats up. On the two-on-one date, one bachelorette has no problem dominating the dinner conversation. With the beautiful Castello di Amaroso winery in Napa Valley as a backdrop, the romance between Jake and one of the women intensifies. But the other bachelorette isn't about to see another woman get between her and her man. When the trio head off to their respective bedrooms in the castle, Jake gets a late night surprise visit.

The next day, Jake takes another woman for a special date in San Francisco's Golden State Park. Their date continues with a private dinner at the Science Academy. Surrounded by aquariums full of exotic sea life, the bachelorette decides to risk it all, surprising Jake with a very personal revelation.

Finally, Jake spends the day of the rose ceremony enjoying the city with one bachelorette. While the other women worry about the unfair advantage she might enjoy, the couple stroll through charming neighborhoods and stop for brunch before capping off their wonderful day with a sunset toast under the Golden Gate Bridge. However, his day isn't quite picture perfect because Jake has some troubling issues he must confront the bachelorette about.

No woman is safe at the rose ceremony. Jake is faced with an impossible decision to send one woman home. In the end, he must narrow the field to four bachelorettes - the four who will invite him into their families' homes - while one devastated woman leaves her heart in San Francisco.

The five women are:

Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA
Corrie, 23, a wardrobe consultant from Kissimmee, FL
Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY
Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

ABC press release:

ABC CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO THE WEDDING OF JASON MESNICK AND MOLLY MALANEY, ON "THE BACHELOR: JASON AND MOLLY'S WEDDING," MONDAY, MARCH 8

"The Bachelor" Couple Will Celebrate Their Union with a Spectacular Event
Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, the first "Bachelor" couple to ever walk down the aisle, will share a dramatic new chapter of their love story with millions of viewers when ABC televises their much anticipated wedding on "The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding," MONDAY, MARCH 8 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

The couple, who announced their engagement in October, will let viewers in on all the exciting festivities - from Molly's dress fitting for her dazzling custom-made gown to Jason and Molly planning the big day with their wedding planner and event designer. Then it's on to their bachelor and bachelorette parties, and the next stage of their romantic journey with a beautiful wedding ceremony in the perfect location.

Past "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" couples, stars and participants (to be announced at a later date) will be on the guest list to help the couple celebrate, along with their families and friends.

Jason and Molly have had a rocky road on their way to happily ever after, which makes this momentous event that much sweeter for them. Jason's journey goes back more than a year, when he was one of the final two bachelors on DeAnna Pappas' edition of "The Bachelorette." Although ultimately rejected by DeAnna, he was the overwhelming fan favorite and the first ever single dad on "The Bachelor" to try his luck at finding love again. He proposed to Melissa Rycroft in the finale, only to find that he had a change of heart. In a heartbreaking and shocking "After the Final Rose" special, he broke up with Melissa - and hoped it was not too late to beg Molly to give him a second chance to win her love. Good thing he took the gamble - despite the intense scrutiny from fans and media, his risk was rewarded. The couple took slow and steady steps to build their relationship, including Molly's building a bond with Jason's son, Ty, as they saw their connection develop into a real, lasting union.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

"The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding" will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': season 14, episode 5

We were very excited to announce that we will be televising Jason and Mollyís wedding March 8 on ABC. This will be fun for us because on top of friends and family, many of our old favorites will be back and involved in the wedding. I know that some of you have mixed emotions about this as Iíve already heard many comments on Twitter and Facebook, but this is a joyous occasion and Iím very proud to be a part of it. We have a lot to talk about this week but before we move forward I want to get back to something I did a lot more last season, and thatís respond to some of your comments. First of all, my apologies for the wrong letter last week. The comment that ripped me apart and questioned my wifeís morals (she loved that) was from ďZĒ not ďVĒ. Itís still up on page six of the episode 3 blog. The reason I didnít just cut and paste it in is that it was just too long. I read it again this week and still got a good laugh.

Not sure how or why some of you got so fired up discussing the Canadian education system this week, but Iím going to let that one go. Maybe Iíll call Jillian and have her settle that fight. SBWM (and many others) asked about how we had to adjust our plan because Jake let four girls go last week. One thing our producers are incredibly good at is realizing all good reality shows have to be flexible and able to change on a momentís notice. Some people give us way too much credit for having all this stuff planned out. It just doesnít work like that. The best moments in any reality show, including ours, are the unpredictable moments that turn everything on its head. KKP mentioned the lack of deliberation room scenes this season. Just to let you know, whether we show it or not we always shoot deliberation. Sometimes, like this season, we would rather show you so much more of the other action instead of using that time to show you deliberation. This week, though, it made sense to leave it in so you saw it. But donít worry, Iím always there for Jake or whoever the Bachelor or Bachelorette is.

Now letís get to this weekís episode. The ride up to San Francisco was a stressful one as all the women were a little fried after a drama-filled rose ceremony the night before. On one hand, the ladies were glad Jake stepped up and let that many women go, but at the same time they canít help worrying about who or whatís next. Obviously, things had gotten pretty tense between Ali and Vienna but it had actually finally calmed down. They were being polite to each other when, out of the blue, Corrie made that unfortunate (but funny!) joke about the two-on-one date involving the two of them. That was like pouring gasoline on a fire. If you couldnít tell, everything changed emotionally this week. All of a sudden the women and Jake realized they were falling in love all at the same time. Not sure it has ever happened like that before on this show. Iím guessing it had a lot to do with what Jake did last week. Nevertheless, it really changed the complexity of the dates, and emotions were running very high.

I was really captivated by just how real and easy Jake and Tenleyís conversation was on their date atop Coit Tower. Itís so easy between them. I like how Jake is so open about telling the women heís falling for them. It adds a different dimension to this season weíve not had in the past. Gia and Vienna, who are pretty good friends, ended up on the two-on-one date at the castle in Napa. They are such good friends that one night Gia and Vienna drank a little grape juice and Gia taught Vienna wrestling moves. She actually suplexed (wrestling term) Vienna onto a pile of pillows, but we thought she was going to bust her head open. I donít think you could really tell how freaked out Vienna was when she was wandering around the castle looking for Jake and Gia. She got lost looking for them. Sheís terrified of the dark and was close to tears when she finally found them.

His next date was with Corrie. Jake is a very spiritual guy and he really respected Corrie opening up and telling him about her values. While I donít think that is the reason he ended up letting her go I have to believe it held her back far enough behind the others that it did cost her in the end. I think Corrie summed it up best when she said if it had just been the two of them things would have been different. Thatís probably true. Corrie was a bit out of her element in this arena and it didnít allow their relationship to advance as fast as the others emotionally. Ali clearly had home field advantage this week and took full advantage of that. She really did plan the entire date and those really were some of her favorite spots to eat and hang out. I loved that date because some of our viewers say the planes and mansions arenít real. Well, this date with Ali was as real as you can get. The rose ceremony was held in a huge ballroom off the lobby in the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel. When Jake walked Corrie out they walked directly through the lobby and out onto the driveway. We didnít shut this down to shoot. It was just late enough at night that we got lucky nobody was around. Anybody in the hotel could have easily stumbled upon Jake and Corrie walking out.

You saw in the previews for next week that the drama is far from over this season. You heard me announce that for the first time ever, there wonít be a rose ceremony. This is an incredibly pivotal episode for many reasons. Weíll have plenty to talk about next week! In the meantime you can always find me on Facebook or Twitter (@chrisbharrison). I leave you with my favorite comment from last weekís blog. Lisa came up with a new bumper sticker: WWCHD. What would Chris Harrison Do? ďWouldnít it be great if every time we needed advice Chris Harrison would magically appear?Ē Yes it would, Lisa, yes it would!

Jakeís Bachelor Blog: From San Francisco with Love!

Hello all,

This week in SFO was awesome! I have it narrowed to my five best girls and I went into this week really excited because my heart had gone out to each woman. Also, with two fewer women, the dates were much more intimate.

Letís start with Tenley. What a doll face! We had some of the best conversation and I realized just how smart she really is, which is something Iím definitely attracted to. It was funny though Ö In Chinatown you saw us standing up eating in a little restaurant. Little did you know, Tenley wouldnít try any of the ethnic food! I had to eat both of our plates. Lol! Afterwards when we were in the alley listening to the man play the erhu, I knew all Tenley could think about was wanting to dance. Our dinner on the top of Coit Tower was so romantic and my heart was pounding because I was so attracted to her. I always say, ďGreat minds think alike,Ē so what a cool coincidence that both of our fortune cookies said, ďKISS ME!Ē It still makes me smile. By the way, Tenley and I both burned our hands making those fortune cookies!

Castello di Amorosa provided an incredible backdrop to a fun, romantic, yet stressful and awkward date with Gia and Vienna. At this point, I was really over group dates. Two women may not seem like much of a group but itís hard to divide my attention and try to make each woman feel comfortable and important, which is why it was a little disappointing to see and feel Gia back away from me a bit. Iím sure these group dates are even harder on the women. At least we had the cool castle to explore! It had all of these underground tunnels and passageways and when Vienna decided she was going to go looking for me and Gia, she got lost. Thatís when we found out that the lights are on a timer! At midnight the power is cut off, which coincidentally left Vienna by herself in a pitch-black maze of tunnels. She was lost for almost an hour! LOL! I guess Vienna did ask Gia if she would come with her to see me in my room after the date, but Gia declined. Being that it was also Giaís date, I just didnít feel that it was right to spend extra time with Vienna. At least we shared some huge laughs before I sent her away.

One woman that really had an impact on me was Corrie. She truly is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met and I have a wild amount of respect and love for her. When we were in the boat I had an awesome opportunity to kiss her but I purposefully passed it up. Iím not looking for girls to just kiss. I want the moment to feel right to me emotionally, and when it did finally happen in front of the huge aquarium, it was a sweet moment. It for sure wasnít in the botanical garden while Corrie was trying to touch everything! LOL, Corrie! I donít think that little poisonous red dart tree frog wants you to hold him!

There are usually three dates between each rose ceremony but being in San Francisco, I really wanted to have a one on one date with Ali. I wanted to let her take control and plan the date and she did one heck of a job! We had an absolute blast and I think Ali thoroughly enjoyed getting to show off her neighborhood. I want a woman that trusts my decision-making skills so I remember how good it felt to have that conversation with Ali in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, putting all the drama behind us. Actually, it was so good that we were going to jump in the ocean headfirst but I remembered as we were running that we had very expensive microphone-packs on!

Even though I had a great week in a beautiful city, I was beyond stressed out at the cocktail party and rose ceremony. I fell even harder for all five women this week and was well on my way to being completely in love with a few. I had to just let my heart lead.

This next week is really a shocker for me and it will be very difficult for me to watch. If you can believe it, this is going to be one of the most dramatic episodes this season.

Fly Safe everyone!!!

ABC press release:

JAKE TAKES CROSSES THE COUNTRY TO JOIN THE FOUR REMAINING BACHELORETTES
IN THEIR HOMETOWNS AND FINDS HIMSELF ON THE HOT SEAT WITH THEIR FAMILIES,
ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8

For the First Time Ever in "Bachelor" History, There Is No Rose Ceremony

"Episode 1406" - The stakes are high for Jake as he leaves his Los Angeles home for an exciting, emotionally charged journey across the country to visit the final four women's hometowns. Why is Gia afraid of falling in love? How will Ali's mother judge Jake in comparison to her past boyfriends? Is Tenley really ready for a new relationship after her tough divorce? And what part will Vienna's father play in the drama between Jake and his daughter? Just when Jake feels confident of his next decision, one bachelorette turns everything upside down in a single, gut-wrenching moment, leaving Jake reeling, on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Jake is looking forward to meeting the four bachelorettes' families and learning more about the women he's falling in love with. His first stop is New York to visit Gia and her family. The couple take in the Big Apple's sites on a romantic boat ride down the Hudson River. During their excursion, Jake learns about Gia's insecurities and why she's been so reticent about falling in love. At a Manhattan restaurant, Jake meets Gia's protective family. She can only hope that they'll approve of Jake, and that will give her the confidence to finally let her guard down.

Next Jake journeys to Williamstown, Massachusetts to see Ali. This is a bittersweet trip home for Ali. The last time she visited her hometown was for her grandmother's funeral. At dinner with her family, Ali is most concerned about her mother's opinion. In the past, her mom has been able to tell which of Ali's boyfriends were right for her by seeing how they act together. Will she like what she sees?

A cross country trip lands Jake in Newberg, Oregon, to meet Tenley and her family. Having been burned by her ex-husband in the past, Tenley grills Jake about what he would be like as a husband. After a touching visit to Tenley's old dance studio, the couple head off to meet her family. Jake is the first guy Tenley has brought home since her divorce, and they need to ask him some very tough questions. But Jake also has some things on his mind. He wants them to assure him that Tenley is over her divorce and ready for a new relationship.

For the last hometown date, Jake heads down south to Geneva, Florida, to visit Vienna for an unusual boat trip through swamp waters filled with crocodiles. Vienna confesses that she's a "daddy's girl" and that her dad has never really liked any guy she's brought home. And this time is no different. Vienna's father immediately puts Jake on the hot seat. Can Jake impress her dad and prove he's good enough for daddy's "princess?"

As Jake returns to Los Angeles for the rose ceremony, he's certain of his next decision. But nothing has prepared him for what happens next. One bachelorette makes a surprise visit to his room, disclosing a totally unexpected shocking revelation, which leaves Jake reeling. In a season filled with surprises, there is another huge one: for the first time in "Bachelor" history, there will be no rose ceremony.

The four women are:

Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA
Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY
Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

Why don't you just spoiler bar it?? ??? That way if someone wants to know, they can, if they want to avoid it, they can do that as well.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': season 14, episode 6

Obviously we have a lot to talk about this week with Ali leaving. I will get to that below but in cases like this I often end up glossing over or completely skipping the rest of the episode and I donít want that to happen this time. The hometown dates have always been one of my favorite parts of this show. Just like in life, on this show you can be fake or manipulate your way through many situations, but not when family is involved. When you bring your family into a relationship, no matter how hard you try, you just canít hide who you really are. For better or for worse thatís who we are. Thatís where we all came from. For some this is a source of pride and for others a source of embarrassment but bottom line, good or bad itís family and thatís something you canít fake or change.

I have been asked several times what I think about Jakeís final four. My initial response to that is, who the hell am I to judge who someone has or hasnít fallen in love with? With that said, I understand that part of my job is often judging situations like this. I know Jake pretty well and Iíve gotten to know these women as well. I understand what Jake sees in each of them and I completely understand where heís coming from when he says heís falling in love with all four of them. They each represent something different heís looking for, but in many ways they are all very much the same (not that Vienna and Ali would admit that). As I watched Jake with these families I was struck by how sincere and articulate he was. He is incredibly good at expressing his feelings to people and that is not an easy thing to do in any situation much less in this one. We saw this first with Giaís family in New York. I have noticed Gia really open up over the last few weeks. She seems extremely vulnerable right now and thereís only one reason for that, sheís in love. Jake and I both admitted that we were guilty of judging this book (Gia) by its cover when we first saw her. We talked openly that first night that we werenít sure she was a woman of substance but we couldnít have been more wrong. Gia is a very interesting, complex woman and itís easy to see why she and Jake have become so close.

Tenley has definitely moved up in Jakeís mind in the last couple weeks. Tenley is a great example of what I was talking about above with family. Jake had an idea about what Tenley had been through with her divorce but seeing and hearing her family talk about how much she was hurt, I think he got a whole new perspective for just what she suffered through and just how strong of a woman Tenley is. Tenley gives little hints of how betrayed she felt by using words like partner or team when referring to a husband. The talk with Tenleyís dad on the porch was especially touching. Maybe itís because I have a daughter and can imagine some scared kid asking my permission to marry my daughter but I found it to be a very sincere touching moment. By the way, to any kids out there who might ever think that they want to ask for my daughterís hand in marriage the answer is NO.

Itís too bad I canít just talk about how amazing Aliís hometown date was. That trip to her grandmotherís house was amazing. That was as an emotional moment as weíve ever had on this show. There is no doubt in my mind that these two were falling in love with each other. Which makes what happened that much tougher and unfortunate. What would you do in the same situation? Would you choose a great career you know you have, or a chance at love you might have? Thatís what Ali faced. I wonít go into great detail about Aliís work situation. Thatís not really for me to talk about. What I will tell you is what happened from my perspective. By the time I arrived at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills for the rose ceremony, Ali had already talked to Jake but hadnít come to a final decision. When I sat down in deliberation with him I could tell he was confused and hurting. There are times on this show when you forget about the cameras and you truly feel like youíre just talking to and trying to help a friend and this was one of those moments. When Ali arrived that night I knew she hadnít made up her mind, and I assumed she was going to want to talk with Jake again. When she asked, there was no question we were going to make that happen. This was a decision that couldnít be left up to a rose ceremony. They needed to talk this out and come to a final decision, although in the end Iím not sure she really ever did. Jake and Ali sat in that room and talked for quite some time. I was sitting just outside and honestly, I lost track of time but it had to be at least two hours if not more.

I will say this for Jake, he really laid it out there for her. No, he didnít profess his love and promise that she was the one but he did flat out say more than once ďI donít want you to go.Ē On more than one occasion during the conversation I was positive Ali was going to stay. At one point I almost walked in because they had pretty much come to that conclusion. But in the end she chose her career over Jake and chose to leave. She said it herself best, ďI donít know if I made the right decision.Ē Again I ask what would you have done? Choose a great career in a terrible economy or a shot at love you might have? That moment between the two of them at the limo was all anyone needed to see if there was any question as to how they felt about each other. As you saw, this led to another Bachelor first: no rose ceremony. It looked and felt awkward, didnít it? The other women had been sitting around all night waiting and wondering what in the world was going on. Remember, they had no idea what Jake and Ali were doing. Nobody really knew how to act or what to do in that moment but I like it when itís raw and awkward like that. Life isnít always a pretty, polished Hollywood scene is it?

If you didnít pass out watching Ali drive away, you heard weíre off to the beautiful island of St. Lucia. You also got to see more of the finale than weíve shown you all season. A good tease of just how serious things will get with the final three and just how good the finale is going to be! I know there will be questions and comments about this weekís episode, so feel free to leave them below and Iíll try to answer as many as I can for you next week.

Personally I thought Ali was playing a game the whole time.  It was just too fake for me.  All she wanted was Jake to say she was the one and that can't happen during a reality show.  Then again I love SF and would never give up the city for a man.

Jakeís Bachelor Blog: ĎMy Heart Stoppedí When Ali Left

Hello All!

This week was incredible. Each of the four families I met were great but I have to admit ó I was a little nervous!

New York City was a great place to visit first. Gia was completely energized being back in New York City and it really showed that she was finally in a comfortable, familiar environment. We had so much fun on our date! I loved sightseeing by boat, which was something I had never done there. Gia has a very loving family but I was wondering whether or not they would accept a Southern guy. Surprisingly, I had a lot in common with her dad. Her mom was very curious as to how I could be falling in love with Gia and three other women at the same time and it was clear it made her uncomfortable. Apparently, it made her need tarot cards! Let me just say, tarot cards are not my forte at all, but I played along. One thing that you didnít get to see on Monday night was Giaís mom explaining to me that it had been years since she had read someoneís cards. Thatís why she employed the help of Reading Tarot Cards For Dummies. I about died laughing when she pulled that book out! I love Giaís mom! That was definitely a highlight of the evening.

Getting to spend time with Ali in Williamstown, Mass., was great! This was a hometown visit I had really been looking forward to. Ali has an amazing heart. I realized how beautiful she was when she told me she cared for her grandmother during her illness. Ali has a heart for other people and cares for others more than she cares for herself. Granted, she can instigate a lot of drama with Vienna, but people do mysterious things in the name of love. Ali comes from a very loving family and I really felt comfortable there. After I met her mom, brother and sister earlier in the evening, I got to meet her dad briefly Ö such a great guy! It was hard to pull myself away from Ali that night; we shared some of the most passionate kissing I had experienced so far!

Well, I finally got to check Oregon off my list of places to go. Thank you, Tenley! It is such a beautiful area. I really loved her family a lot and her little sister is a doll! If I do marry Tenley, itís very clear that I will gain a strong family with great values. Her dad is a very spiritual, successful and compassionate man and I gained a huge respect for him and the way he raised his two daughters. You may have seen a lot of tears, but they love to have fun, too! Off camera we moved all the furniture aside, salsa danced then jumped into the Jacuzzi. The highlight for me, though, was at the dance studio watching Tenley. I fell in love with her when she showed me her lyrical dance.

I was so excited to see Vienna. She always relaxes me and after a week of visiting families, I was ready to relax in a place Iíve always loved, Florida. On the riverboat, we kept daring one another to jump in with the alligators. Fortunately, no one took the dare. Of all the women left, I was really curious to see who in Viennaís life taught her how to love so hard. It became clear that Vienna has grown up with a very strong example of what a marriage should be like. Theyíre a very tight unit and her father is a wonderful, loving man.

After visiting all the families, I felt really good about where I was in this journey. Then I got back to L.A. and the bottom dropped out. My heart crumbled when she told me her boss demanded her back at work. I didnít actually think she would leave me. We talked about it for three hours that night while the poor women at the rose ceremony just waited. She actually didnít have to be back at work for four or five more days but we were leaving the country the next morning, so she had to make a decision. I felt like she wanted me to make the choice for her, but I couldnít. How could I live with myself if I told her, ďNo! You are not leaving me now!Ē and then realize a week or two later that she was not ďthe one.Ē I couldnít make the decision for her. When she told me she was leaving, my heart stopped. I wish I couldíve had Mike Tyson punch me square in the jaw, because it would have felt so much better than what I feeling as I watched AliCat drive away that night.

What could I do? I had to regain my composure and focus on the amazing women I had left; three women that I have fallen in love with. Leaving the country felt like a clean slate. Next week we are in Saint Lucia! EVERYTHING changes. This is where the real emotions start to run wild. Relationships are solidified and become unstoppable.

Until next week everyone Ö

In the meantime, fly safe! ĖJake Pavelka

ABC press release:

IT'S A ROMANTIC WHIRLWIND FOR THE FINAL THREE BACHELORETTES,
AS JAKE SWEEPS THEM AWAY FOR FANTASY OVERNIGHT DATES
ON THE BEAUTIFUL CARIBBEAN ISLAND OF ST. LUCIA, ON ABC'S
"THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15

"Episode 1407" - Romantic adventures await Jake and the final three women - Gia, Tenley and Vienna - as they travel to the picturesque Caribbean island of St. Lucia. From the rain forest to an old sugar plantation to a pirate ship, the dates are filled with excitement and passion, as Jake continues to explore what his future would be like with each of these potential mates. At the end of each evening, Jake will present the bachelorette with an invitation to spend an intimate night together in a "fantasy suite," with the hope that she will accept. But will she? It's a wild, romantic ride with each of the women - until Jake has to make another heart-wrenching decision - tremendously complicated by a departed bachelorette who pleads for a second chance, on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Jake is falling hard for Gia and takes her by speedboat to the local marketplace in Gros Islet. Can Gia let go of her fast paced city lifestyle and enjoy relaxed island life? Over a romantic moonlit dinner in a secluded cove, she reveals to Jake that she has been more open with him than with the other guys she's dated. But will she have the courage to share her true feelings for him?

The next day it's Tenley's turn, and Jake surprises her with a scenic helicopter tour of the island followed by a romantic picnic in the rain forest of an old sugar plantation. Tenley is smitten with Jake, but she's worried about staying with him in the fantasy suite. Having only been with her ex-husband, the sensitive bachelorette questions whether she's truly ready to take this intimate step and put her past solidly behind her.

Jake's final outing of the week is with Vienna. The couple explore the enchanted island aboard a pirate ship, the Brig Unicorn, which leads to a romantic swim on a private beach. She's falling in love with Jake, but she's scared. Vienna must decide whether to lay her heart on the line even though she knows he has feelings for the other two women.

The Bachelor has fallen in love with all three women - all for different reasons - and he's about to face his toughest decision yet. However, he finds himself unexpectedly challenged by a determined, departed bachelorette who has had a change of heart and hopes she can convince Jake to make her a part of his life again.

In the end, Jake sends one woman home in tears and offers the final two roses to the women who will meet his family in hopes that he'll choose them in the dramatic season finale.

The three women are:
Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY
Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

If Alli is the next bachelorette, I will not watch.  Couldn't stand listening to her whine.  I'm glad he did not allow her to come back.  Everyone knows to stay away from someone playing games.  Just my opinion.... :duno:

Jakeís Bachelor Blog: ĎI Will Always Love Alií

Hey there!

Gosh! I canít believe weíre already at week seven. This journey is flying by!

This was such a beautiful episode. St. Lucia is gorgeous and being a beach guy, I was so excited to get to there. I had been to the island several times on cruises, but I never saw the island like this. One thing that I really noticed was how friendly the locals are, making for a great experience.

Letís start with my date with Gia. We always have so much fun together. I sometimes think about what a mistake I would have made if I had sent her home that very first night ó which I almost did. Many speculate that if Ali had not left to go back to work, Gia would have gone home at the rose ceremony in episode six. This is absolutely not true. I had no idea which girl wasnít getting a rose, and fortunately I never had to make that decision.

I loved that we took that little fishing boat out to sea, and fortunately for me Iíve driven boats all my life, but this small boat was hard to maneuver! And poor Gia, with her beautiful hair, had to endure the rain all day long. We may have spent the day soaking wet, but I think it only added to the romance. One of the funniest moments that happened all season happened on this date. It was later in the day and neither of us had eaten anything. As Gia and I walked the streets we saw this lady selling cooked chicken on an open-air grill. We walked over and I could tell Gia was salivating. Thatís when Gia looked to the side of the grill and saw a bunch of chickens. Her smile quickly turned to a frown. Needless to say, we didnít eat chicken that afternoon. We had such a great date though, and we got to see a really cool side of the island.

Speaking of cool parts of the island, my date with Tenley was breathtaking. Tenley had never flown in a helicopter so it made it all the more special taking her on a two-hour tour. If you ever go to Saint Lucia, this is an absolute must. When the helicopter landed, it was a pretty long walk to the sugarcane mill through the rainforest. I got us lost, but we discovered starfruit, ate it right off of the tree and decided It tastes a lot like a grape! I felt so bad for Tenley though because all during our picnic, little ants were biting her legs Ö and mine. Our dinner was so romantic and the setting was incredible. Tenley was so affectionate that evening and we kept kissing all through dinner. I donít even remember if I had one bite of food! As we danced under the gazebo there were bats swooping down catching bugs. It was a little hard to concentrate on just dancing. Lol! It was nice to get back to the cozy fantasy suite with her. We talked all night long.

The pirate ship with Vienna was awesome! We felt like two kids together playing. Iíve never gotten to make someone to walk the plank before but I decided I would dive in right behind her. We realized jumping in was a bad idea when we found ourselves more than 200 yards behind the boat and quickly getting carried away further by a strong current. It was hilarious. Some fisherman came up in a smaller boat and picked us up and brought up back to the pirate ship. Vienna was so funny that day. I love that she makes me laugh.

We had very serious conversation at dinner though. It may sound silly but I really wanted to know what was with all of her car wrecks and if she really understood the value of a dollar. I learned that four of the accidents were not her fault. Iím still not sure if anybody should ever let her borrow their car though!

I was having the most amazing week, really getting to know the women on a much deeper level and then I got the call from Ali. It definitely was not what I was expecting and it broke my heart all over again. Everything about me wanted to tell her, ďCome! Come right now!Ē But she left at a very critical time in this journey. In Los Angeles after she left, I was forced to close off my heart to her. I had to in order to move forward with the three women that I had left ó three women that didnít leave and that I was falling in love with. In order to bring Ali back, I would have had to eliminate two women at the rose ceremony and there was no way I could do that. I was in love with Ali and it was truly unfair that she had to make that decision. I will always love Ali and she will always have a great friend in me. But I believe things happen for a reason. All 26 of us grew and matured dramatically during this journey and Iím confident that Ali grew the most having to go through what she did.

The rose ceremony was awful. I remember not even wanting to go. I felt very protective over Gia and it made me feel about 2-ft. tall breaking her heart. There was nothing wrong with her either. And nothing really wrong with us, so telling her goodbye was very painful. I have had so many wonderful moments during this journey and this was definitely not one of them.

Next week, itís Women Tell All time! I canít wait to see how the girls are doing. And Rozlyn will be there! That should be interesting.

The snow has all the airlines running late and canceling flights. Remember, the flight crews are just as frustrated as you are.

Fly safe everyone! ĖJake Pavelka

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': Season 14, episode 7

We begin this week with some of your comments. In my vast experience as a blogger (about a year now), I have found itís always around this time in the season where the natives get restless. For example, Tyler (Tue 2/9/10 1:14 AM) writes ďGreat Blog Chris!Ē Pretty simple and a very nice note ó not extremely controversial, right? Then this follows from ďNobodyĒ (Tue 2/9/10 9:18 AM): ďThereís no need to swell the guyís ego any larger than it already is. The man is nothing more than an ABC pawn. It must be painful to have to write this crap every week. But then most people will do almost anything for a buck. Whether CH actually believes the crap he writes is debatable, but he certainly likes how ABC and EW line his pockets for doing it.Ē I did some research and found out who ďNobodyĒ really is. Itís actually John Mayer. Right after he gave that extremely ignorant interview to Playboy he posted that comment on the site. (Kidding, of course.) But at least ďNobodyĒ gave me credit for writing this blog. ďViewer less and lessĒ (Tue 2/9/10 12:59 PM) writes, ďI am 100% sure Chris doesnít write this, itís written by staff and he edits and puts his final touches on it.Ē If I have a staff then why the heck am I sitting here on a Friday night watching this episode again and blogging? I need to hire a staff so I can fire them for making me do this by myself. The truth is, I do get some help each week. I want to thank my friend and producer Elan. I talk to him each week so I can get more details and the little anecdotes you guys love so much. My goal is to give you not only my take on this show but also some behind-the-scenes stories to make you feel more a part of the journey. But I assure you I write every word of every blog every week. Who else would write this poorly? As for you fans that come here for the fun and watch the show for the love story and the entertainment, please donít worry about the negative posts ó I donít. In fact, I get a big kick out of them. Before I move on I want to give major props to ďCraigĒ (Tue 2/9/10 1:38 AM). His comment was way, way too long to put in here but I love that so many guys are out there watching. Way to stand proud!

This week, we all took off to the beautiful island of St. Lucia. I had never been to this island and honestly had to search for it on my sonís globe to find out exactly where it was. Now that Iíve been there I can honestly tell you itís as beautiful an island as Iíve ever been to. As much as I love the hometown dates, I equally love the exotic dates and the arrival of the fantasy suite card. I canít remember a final three in recent history that all loved our Bachelor so much and vice versa. It really made for a compelling week. I found it interesting how the fantasy suite card meant very different things to each of them. For Gia, it was a chance to let down her guard and let Jake in closer to see the woman she really is. For Tenley, it was a huge step in her life to move past her ex-husband and prove to herself as much as anyone that she can love again. For Vienna, it was a chance to show Jake there is more to their relationship than physical chemistry. I talked to Jake this week and he told me he was shocked at how much he was falling in love with all three of these women. I think it was really difficult for Jake to see Gia leave because he certainly did have strong feelings for her. Looking back over the course of their relationship, it seems that it was a bit slower in developing than with the other women and I canít help but wonder if that may have influenced his final decision.

And of course there was that phone call! I have to tell you I was impressed with how well Jake handled this situation. Once again instead of taking the easy way out and just inviting Ali back, he bit the bullet and spoke open and honestly with her. Even though it had only been a week, Jake had mentally and physically moved on in his heart and in his head. As for Ali, I feel for her. I knew that night back in Los Angeles that deep down she didnít want to leave. It was a mistake that she will regret in some way the rest of her life. But as with all mistakes, itís what you do with that lesson and how you rebound from it that really defines the person you are. I look forward to talking to her at the Women Tell All special to get her side of the story.

Speaking of the Women Tell All special, it airs next Monday night, Feb. 22, but we taped it this past weekend here in L.A. Yes, Rozlyn comes back and is on the show. I got to sit down with her and go step by step through the entire ordeal. You will also hear for the first time explosive new details from the other women. Thatís all I will tell you for now other than that Iím extremely happy she showed up. Trust me when I tell you, you do not want to miss this show!

The Bachelor Blog: Jake Faces the Women

What an emotional day! It was great seeing all of the women and I was so happy for the few surprise guests such as Emily. She looked just as gorgeous as she did the first night I met her. The one question everyone kept asking me was, ďAre you nervous about seeing the women again?Ē The answer was definitely no! I am excited! These women are all my friends. The Women Tell All is an opportunity for the ladies who didnít receive a rose to ask questions and possibly get some closure as we start to wrap up this incredible journey we took together. And I used it for the same purpose.

Iím sure a lot of people want to hear my comments on Rozlyn but I donít feel like I have any more to say about her or the situation. I wish Rozlyn the very best in life and I want her and my friend (the staffer) to know ó I hope youíre happy.

Seeing Christina was great. After watching her on the show, I remember thinking that I wish I had seen her funny side. She went home too early, so I was happy that I had the opportunity to tell her how beautiful she looked in the Instyle Magazine photoshoot. She looked beautiful at Women Tell All too.

Poor Michelle. She is such a good girl and I truly feel that she just didnít know exactly how to handle the situation of being on The Bachelor. Michelle, like all of the women this season, is used to being pursued by a man and this is not an ideal environment for a woman who is used to operating that way in a relationship. One thing I do know about Michelle is that she will find a great relationship and she will be ready for it.

Seeing Ali really affected me. There was so much emotion in that reunion, mostly because I really felt that I never got closure with her. I still stand by my decision to not have her come back but that decision didnít come easy and it still doesnít. I truly wish her the best in life and will always be her biggest fan.

As difficult as it was having all these amazing women in one room again, Iím happy I got the chance to see everyone. I truly hope the women feel the same way. Thank goodness for the bloopers! They were a much needed light moment in the heavy evening. I hope everyone enjoyed them as much as we did!

Fly Safe! ĖJake Pavelka

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': The Women Tell All

I was looking forward to this Women Tell All special more than any other we have ever done. There were so many stories I wanted to talk about. I was happy to get the chance to hear Elizabethís thoughts on the games she played. I think she realizes what she was doing but I just donít think sheís fully ready to admit it publicly. I enjoyed getting Michelleís side of the story. I think this process was overwhelming to her and she was very much out of her element. Gia is a great example of somebody who will leave our show with a much better understanding of who she is and what she really wants in life. I think she now knows she can love and, more importantly, be loved by a good man. Seeing Ali and Jake together again was very interesting. If youíre an old-school Bachelor fan youíll remember season 2ís Women Tell All. In that show, our Bachelor Aaron confronted a woman he let go named Gwen. You could tell that there was love there, everybody felt it, but for some reason life just got in the way and it didnít happen. I got the same feeling watching Jake and Ali together again. Who knows if she had stayed if she would have been the one but it just seemed like they let life get in the way of what could have been a good thing.

Obviously the most talked-about part of the reunion show was Rozlynís return. I truly think the two segments with Rozlyn speak for themselves and I know that there is no doubt in anybodyís mind now as to what really happened between her and our former producer. We have multiple, detailed eyewitness accounts from the other women as well as detailed confessions from the producer himself. There was one random comment Rozlyn made at the end of our interview while she was desperately backtracking after being confronted with the overwhelming evidence against her that I do want to address. During the interview I made mention that it was unfortunate we had to fire a guy that was a ďdear friend to manyĒ. Her reply to this was the following: ďThatís news to him, especially when you were hitting on his wife in New Zealand. He thought that was crazy.Ē That night I told her ďI clearly wonít dignify that with a response.Ē The reason I didnít respond immediately is thatís exactly what she would have wanted from me. It was a desperate attempt by a very desperate woman to create a diversion and deflect the spotlight from herself as she had done several times throughout the interview when she felt backed into a corner by the overwhelming truth. I was extremely disappointed that Rozlyn would stoop to that level and bring my family and me into this already sad and unfortunate situation. Beyond the fact that itís just flat out not true, that comment was well beyond the line of decency and speaks volumes to the kind of person Rozlyn is. My wife, who Iíve been with since I was 18 and have been married to for over 16 years, was in the audience that night and got as big a laugh out of Rozlynís comment as I did.

Rozlynís behavior at the Women Tell All special put everything in an alarming new light. Sheís used her son as a human shield several times before in attempts to distract from the real reason she was asked to leave our show, but during the interview she said, ďOn my childís life, that never happened.Ē The entire audience gaspedÖ nobody could believe she just said that. If youíre a parent as I am, you know exactly what Iím talking about. Thatís when I knew the interview was essentially over.

It is my hope that none of this nonsense takes away from what is really important here and thatís whatís going to take place next Monday night during our finale. Trust me when I tell you itís a moment you donít want to miss. Although I wonít tell you everything, I will tell you now that Jake is extremely happy and very much in love. Is there a proposal? How does it all go down? Youíll have to watch one of the most emotional, romantic finales in Bachelor history to find out. I very much look forward to reading your comments this week.

What You Didnít See on The Bachelorís Women Tell All

It was one of the most ó wait for it! ó dramatic Women Tell All specials in Bachelor history, thanks to Rozlynís perp walk and subsequent bad attitude, plenty of waterworks and some good old-fashioned name calling and finger pointing. Because it takes more than twice as long to shoot the gabfest than it does to air it, weíve culled the best of what you didnít see on screen here. ĖCarrie Bell

ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM: Some of the other women ponied up more proof that Roz was having an inappropriate relationship. Roz used the Ambien defense with Gia on multiple occasions, saying she took a pill and passed out in the kitchen or elsewhere as the reason why she wasnít in her bed at night.

HOST WITH THE MOST: Chris Harrison could probably host these very special episodes in his sleep, but he does make the occasional blunder like when he kept saying woman when he meant women. He also likes to goof around, teasing the men in the audience whoíd gotten suckered into attending and warning folks to watch their language as a few children were present. One joke that didnít see the light of day was his easily misinterpreted statement about how ďeveryone looks good next to EllenĒ as in DeGeneres.

OK TO FALL: Ashleigh admitted she fell into Jake on night one on purpose and had practiced the move in her hotel room. Cut out was the fact that a producer stood in for Jake to help her to perfect her strategy for standing out.

DEFENDING VIENNA: Gia wasnít Viennaís only ally. Kathryn revealed that the finalist painted othersí nails. Ashley reminded the haters that she also cooked them meals. Ali even gave her support, saying Vienna didnít deserve all the tabloid trashing. ďEven if she has done any of the things people are saying, no one deserves to have all their private secrets out in the open in public,Ē she told PEOPLE after the show. ďThe stuff being said is so bad that I almost hope sheís with Jake so that he can support her through it.Ē

NO KISS AND TELL: Elizabeth categorized her no-kiss rule as game-playing, which she regretted. Michelle thought she should consider herself lucky that Jake kissed her because he wanted to rather than out of obligation. Valishia claimed she had a no-kissing-before-wedding rule with her ex husband.

FASHION EMERGENCY: Gia, who told Chris she had ďalmost a unibrowĒ as teen, looked quite poised in the hot seat, but she was actually ready to rip her Alice + Olvia sequined number off. She said backstage, ďItís giving me a huge rash under my arms and a sequin caught cut my thumb open. Itís getting donated.Ē Ali loved her dress, but kicked off those very high heels in favor of purple Converse the instant she was off camera.

HUGGING IT OUT: Jake was sequestered from his former dates for most of the show, but he snuck a few hugs while doing press rounds. Probably the sweetest were the two shared by Ali and him. He told her she looked great and she said she missed him and then they joked about how the fact that they shared a warm embrace would be in all the magazines. ďI would have liked to interact with the women more. I havenít seen them in months and I am quite fond of them,ď Jake said post-wrap. ďI would have even liked to talk to Rozlyn. I can understand being bitter, but these are consequences of the decisions she made. I donít respect her trying to place blame on the show.Ē

ABC press release:

SEASON FINALE

IT'S ONE OF THE MOST ROMANTIC AND DRAMATIC NIGHTS EVER ON ABC,
ON THE SEASON FINALE OF "THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE,"
MONDAY, MARCH 1

And Immediately Following the Season Finale, Both Tenley and Vienna Join Jake
to Look Back at the Dramatic Ending to His Journey to Find Love,
on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love: After the Final Rose"

America Will Get a Sneak Peek at Next Season's Bachelorette

"Episode 1408" - In this emotional special conclusion, Jake prepares to make one of the most difficult choices of this life. His search for love is now narrowed down to two very different women -- Tenley and Vienna -- and he is falling in love with both of them. Now, after having his family meet them on the exotic island of St. Lucia, he must make one final heart-wrenching decision that could change his life forever, on the season finale of "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love," MONDAY, MARCH 1 (8:00-10:05 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

With Jake's search for his soul mate over, he talks to Chris Harrison about both Tenley and Vienna, taking us back to that final day in St. Lucia. And both women are back with Jake to discuss the dramatic outcome of this roller coaster season. Then America will be introduced to the next "Bachelorette" who will have a chance to find her Prince Charming, on the one-hour special, "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love: After the Final Rose," MONDAY, MARCH 1 (10:05-11:00 p.m., ET).

Jake's family arrives in St. Lucia to meet the final two women and offer their advice. Jake is very clear on one thing: He cannot choose a woman who does not get along with this family. Tenley makes a winning impression over brunch, but she feels compelled to be honest with Jake's mom about her past and the fact that she's divorced. The next day, Vienna immediately admits that she didn't get along with the other women in the house. Jake's mom is quick to notice some warning signs about Vienna and shares them with her son. Vienna's brutal honesty and confrontational style don't go over well, and the family wonders if she would ever fit in with them.

The women both have one last romantic date with Jake. He takes Vienna to a steamy mud bath in St. Lucia's volcanic sulfur springs. There's no question that he has plenty of passion for her, but will that chemistry translate into a lifelong commitment? Now Vienna worries that she might well lose Jake.

The next day Tenley and Jake cast off in a sleek private yacht for a wonderful day of snorkeling among the dolphins in the coral reefs of St. Lucia. This time he's worried that, although he has an incredible emotional connection with Tenley, their chemistry may be lagging behind. When he shares his concerns with her, she is hurt and anxious that she might lose Jake to Vienna.

Jake has pulled no punches in his search for true love this season, but how could that search end with two women as different as Tenley and Vienna? Both women have captured his heart and both would love to share their lives with him. How and whom will he choose? Will he prove that, this time at least, nice guys don't finish last in love?

The remaining two women are:

Tenley, 25, a college admissions representative from Newberg, OR
Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

The Bachelorís Chris Harrison: Jake Is ĎVery Much In Loveí

While on his way to Jason and Mollyís wedding weekend, Bachelor host Chris Harrison chatted with PEOPLE exclusively about Mondayís upcoming finale, the scandalous season, Jake Pavelkaís top two and his happy ending. (ďHeís still with the woman he chose, very much in love, and theyíre doing great,Ē Harrison says!) He also dignified with a response our question about the state of his marriage, which on the Women Tell All special Rozlyn suggested was rocky. ĖCarrie Bell

It has been a fairly tumultuous season of The Bachelor.
It has been a bumpy ride, and it seems to have flown by because of all the scandals and controversies weíve overcome. This one feels like it started a week ago.

Is it possible to find true love amid all that drama?
Considering I just pulled up to Jason and Mollyís wedding, Iím going to say yes. They went through their fair share of drama. As did Jillian and Ed who are here too, so, absolutely, Jake and the girl he chose can survive. 100 percent.

Does the first Bachelor wedding give you renewed belief in the show?
Iíve never put much stock in creating happy couples that last. We donít guarantee anything. Itís up to these people. Some have been happy and some ended horribly. Thatís life and love. Itís unpredictable. I have plenty of good friends who arenít on TV, that donít even watch TV, that are getting divorced. But that doesnít mean Iím not ecstatic that theyíre getting married. I pray all these couples last and get married. It reinforces what we do on the show.

Did you anticipate that Vienna and Tenley would be Jakeís final two?
Towards the end, yes. But had you put a gun to my head halfway through and told me to guess, absolutely not. Jake would probably say the same thing. Heís admitted that he had to convince himself several times to keep Vienna around because she was such a lightening rod for controversy. In the finale even, when heís talking to his mom, he wonders about her. He knows how important it is for whoever he chooses to be able to mix with the family. She often made it easy to let her go.

Had Ali not left, do you think sheíd be in the final two?
Thatís the million-dollar question. She chose work over Jake. He got the answer he needed Jake has no regrets and he showed that by not taking her back.

What are the pros and cons of the final two?
With Tenley, it seems like somethingís missing. Theyíre fun and nice together and the friendship is there, but she doesnít challenge him enough. Jakeís a guy who likes to be challenged, and Vienna definitely does that. His parentsí concern is did she challenge too much or just to push his buttons? Is that sincere? Theyíre pretty similar in what they give Jake ó the protection, security, unconditional love that he wants. He wants that doting wife who will always be there for him and they both have that characteristic. It comes down to the question of would Tenley challenge him enough and would Vienna challenge him too much? I think all guys want to be pushed around a little. We all need our ass kicked every once in awhile.

The show finishes shooting and the decision is made before audiences see anything or the tabloids dig up the dirt. Does that media scrutiny cause waves for the new relationship?
Of course. Theyíre only human. As much as they try not to pay attention, it upsets them. Just watching the show is hard because they have to watch Jake fall for others and kiss other people. Then throw in the tabloids trying to dig up dirt by offering major money to people who were in their lives 10 years ago and then threatening to cover them if they donít come up with good dirt, and it gets really nasty. Any new couple has issues to deal with. To start on TV and then to put up on the garbage thatís printed makes it even tougher.

Even you arenít immune to being called out, as Rozlyn accusing you of flirting with the guyís wife proved.
Yeah, but I chose this life so Iím more prepared and this was the first time I was attacked in nine years. I just wanted to get that facts out there and let people judge for themselves. Consider the source. Her taking a swipe at me and then Ella was a defense mechanism. This is all part of her master plan. Sheís been auditioning and asking for money to appear on shows and now the alleged tapes being leaked. My part in this play is definitely over.

Just for the record, any truth to her accusation? Are you and your wife still happy?
No and yes. Sheís my date for the wedding and weíll be down here all weekend. It takes more than that [comment] to break up 16 years of marriage.

Will you be attending Jakeís wedding anytime soon?
People will have to watch to see if he proposes, but I can tell you he does choose somebody. Heís still with the woman he chose, very much in love, and theyíre doing great.

The Bachelorís Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney Set to Wed

Bachelor star Jason Mesnick and former contestant Molly Malaney are set to tie the knot Saturday, PEOPLE has learned.

The private ceremony and reception will be featured in a two-hour TV special, The Bachelor: Jason and Mollyís Wedding, which will air Monday, March 8 on ABC.

Successful Bachelorette couples Trista and Ryan Sutter and Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski will be on hand to see Mesnick and Malaney exchange vows. The outdoor ceremony will take place at the breathtaking Terranea Resort, located on the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Mesnick, 33, and Malaney, 25, got engaged in New Zealand last October after enduring a tumultuous turn of events following the season finale of The Bachelor last year.

On the showís finale, Mesnick sent Malaney home and proposed to another finalist, Melissa Rycroft, before changing his mind. He then publicly dumped Rycroft on the After the Final Rose special and pledged his allegiance to Malaney.

Rycroft, a correspondent for Good Morning America, rebounded nicely by reuniting with her longtime boyfriend Tye Strickland ó and the couple married in December.

Mesnick and Malaney currently reside in Seattle.

Itís Official: Bachelorís Jason And Molly Get Hitched!

Controversial Bachelor couple Jason Mesnick  and Molly Malaney officially said ďI doĒ on Saturday, PEOPLE has learned.

An estimated 300 guests witnessed Mesnick, 33, and Malaney, 25, exchange vows at the breathtaking Terranea Resort on the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. The nuptials will be televised on the March 8 ABC special The Bachelor: Jason and Mollyís Wedding.

Despite periodic evening rains and a morning tsunami warning (a result of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Chile early Saturday), the outdoor ceremony took place at the resortís Palos Verdes Meadows Lawn bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

ďWeíre really excited for them,Ē former Bachelorette Jillian Harris tells PEOPLE. Harris who vied for Mesnickís affection on The Bachelor, attended the nuptials with Ed Swiderski, to whom she became engaged last year on The Bachelorette.

ďThey are very Ďnormalí in one sense, but on the other hand both of us have been through things in terms of the tabloids and drama after our shows were over,Ē says Harris. ďWeíre so sympathetic to each otherís relationships that weíre huge supporters of each other.Ē

Former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants Trista and Ryan Sutter (the first couple from the ABC franchise to ever wed), DeAnna Pappas, Jesse Csinsak and Kiptyn Locke were among the guests seated in white linen ottomans and sofas on the lawn. They watched Malaney, bedecked in a $45,000, strapless Monique Lhuillier gown and Neil Lane jewelry walk down a 200-ft. aisle to ďOver the Rainbow,Ē sung by American Idolís Jason Castro, toward Mesnick, who wore a dark suit with a black tie. The ceremony lasted 15 minutes ó and concluded with the release of white doves into the rainy skies, as Mesnick tried to shield Mollyís hair from the dampness.

The couple, who became engaged last October, said their vows under a driftwood-covered arbor decorated and designed by event and floral designer Eden Rodriguez of End Design. Antique butterfly cages were set throughout the ceremony area, which was also decorated with white orchids and pieces of driftwood for a rustic beach-inspired look.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails before entering the resort for an indoor ballroom reception. Before going inside, everyone received an escort card with a love coin to toss in a wishing fountain.

The couple worked with wedding planner Jo Gartin of Love Luck and Angels to create a reception that was a mix of Mollyís love for modern style and Jasonís love for vintage touches. The couple chose a mostly white decor with green and black touches. Guests enjoyed a candle-lit dinner at square and rectangular tables decorated with centerpieces of white tulips, orchids and Casablanca lilies and black pepper berries.

Other touches included romantic European-style dinnerware in different designs, 15-ft. tall trees, a custom lacquer dance floor and thousands of candles.

After a tropical honeymoon, Mesnick and Malaney will return to Seattle, where theyíve lived together since last September.

Bachelor Jake Hopes ĎEverybody Understands the Decision I Madeí

Jake Pavelka, 32, will hand out his final rose (or maybe not!) on Mondayís season finale of The Bachelor on ABC. He spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about the last two ladies, Vienna and Tenley, in the running to become his co-pilot, Rozlyn-gate and whether he is happy with the outcome of his second reality TV trip. ĖCarrie Bell

Your season caused a lot of drama for ABC.
I guess it did, but I saved them a bunch of money on the alcohol budget. Iím not a big drinker and the women followed my lead. That was pretty neat to see. Everything is more real and honest when people arenít sloppy. Iím not the kind of guy who seeks out drama but sometimes it finds me.

The biggest scandal was obviously the alleged Rozlyn/producer hookup. Howíd you feel about her Women Tell All segment?
Wow, true colors. I can understand being a little bitter, but these are consequences of the decisions you made. I donít respect her trying to place blame on the show or calling them liars or acting inappropriately toward Chris Harrison who is happily married. I felt bad for his wife. It made for great TV, but it was very hard for me. I understand it as a storyline but people were shocked behind the scenes. She rid the show of a high-level producer in the process.

Are you angry at her?
You canít help who you fall in love with. All I wanted was for her to be honest. Donít take roses that could be given to someone who is interested. Tell me what happened and get out of the way of my love life. I took a lot of crap when I said I got cheated on. But how had I not been cheated on? Had I gone for a staffer, I would have been labeled a cheater. She came to meet me and agreed to be one of the 25 women. I canít believe she couldnít keep her head in the game for six weeks. It is not a surprise that I am going to be dating multiple women. That is the premise of the show. Also the staffer was supposed to be helping me make my choices. But I have moved on. Thereís no ill will towards either of them.

Are they still together?
I donít know honestly. I really hope they are in love.

More importantly, are you in love and is there a wedding in your future?
Marriage in my future? Hopefully. I canít say whether it will come from someone I met on the show, but that is a life experience I donít want to miss out on. And I would like to have it soon. Thatís why I did the show in the first place.

Let me rephrase: Are you happy with your final decision?
I just hope that everybody understands the decision I made because Iím the one who has to live with it. The show will keep going, another season will get under way and the public will move on to being obsessed with another personís budding romance, but my life will keep going so I tried to make the best decision I could, the one that I could live with. I still feel like I made the right decision now a few months later. Iím happy because of that.

The final two seem like complete opposites.
Everyone says theyíre apples and oranges, but they really arenít. They are more like an orange and a tangerine. The way they express love is very different but when you get them down to their cores, theyíre exactly the same girl. I think people will probably see that by the end. That was comforting to me actually because it would be strange if I had fallen hard for two opposites. Both of the women are fun and have a ton of energy and big hearts. Vienna and I connected fiercely over conquering our fear of bungee jumping together. Tenley has been hurt before but has done a great job of being unguarded and showing me who she is like when she danced for me. They have the same family values. They just express them differently.

Were you concerned about Vienna butting heads with the other women?
Vienna got a raw deal from the girls. When other girls I knew cared about me were telling me that she was horrible, I gave it some thought. I wanted to know why but no one ever told me a valid reason to question her. Obviously I saw something. I finally said, ďWeíre worrying too much about what other people think and are wasting the time we could be getting to know each other better.Ē

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' finale and After the Final Rose

Itís hard to believe this season is over. Maybe itís because there have been a few things that have distracted our attention this time around, but it really seems like this season has flown by. Iím glad you all got a chance to be introduced to Jakeís family. I think once you see them and how they interact as a family itís easy to see why Jake is the way he is. They are all such good communicators and you can see where Jake has gotten his skills. His parents fell in love with Tenley the moment she walked in the door. Thatís not hard to believe as everybody who has met Tenley this season loves her and has nothing but good things to say about her. Jakeís family quickly put her in front and I honestly donít think they gave Vienna much of a chance to succeed at first. The fact that Vienna was able to sway their opinion and convince them otherwise was really impressive. Itís actually ironic that what happened to Vienna in the house with the girls, happened again with Jakeís family. The only difference is that Vienna was able to make it right with Jakeís family.

This show has given me the opportunity to go to some pretty special and beautiful places. The island of Saint Lucia is high on that list. The people and the beauty of the island are just about as good as it gets. With that said, several of the crew kept trying to get me to go to those sulphur springs that Jake and Vienna went to. I know it looked romantic on TV, but thatís only because you couldnít smell it. Everybody who came back from the sulphur springs said it was cool, but the sulphuric odor smelled like rotten eggs and it pretty much ruined whatever you were wearing. Needless to say, I passed. The crew gave me a bottle of the mud as a gift.

We spent the final week of our trip at the Jalousie resort. It sits in this beautiful cove nestled between the two pitons (those big mountains you see in all the shots). Between the scenery, the beach, the people, the food, and, of course, the rum, the Jalousie resort is easily one of the best we visited over the eight years weíve been doing this show.

In my opinion, the last chance dates were very telling of Jakeís final decision. You could tell how easy it was between Jake and Vienna. You can also clearly see that he was always defending her and got very defensive when anybody didnít see what he saw in her. Tenley is a wonderful woman and Jake did love her, but not nearly in the same way he loves Vienna. Even Tenley admitted on the AFR special that watching the show she too sees that what Jake has with Vienna is different than what they shared.

The proposal site was at a resort called Jade Mountain. This is the place where you saw Jake spending his final day and picking out his ring. We had to get to this site by water which meant bringing in the women by chopper (another Bachelor first). One thing that wasnít shown was the choppers pulling right over my head and landing about twenty yards away from me. I was really hoping we had good pilots flying for us.

Walking Tenley over to meet Jake was tough. She was nervous and I knew she was very much in love with Jake. Iíve always been impressed by Tenley. But the way she handled herself that day, the poise she showed under that pressure was astounding. Having the grace to actually thank Jake for showing her how to love again is remarkable. Tenley is another person who has left this show with a new clear understanding of who they truly are and what they want. More importantly, I think she now knows what she deserves in return and thatís a big step for her.

Vienna got out of the helicopter shaking like a leaf. She was so nervous she could barely breathe. You could tell she had completely fallen in love with Jake and felt incredibly vulnerable. I have to say that bit where he gave her back that promise ring was a little cruel and it had her going but he quickly redeemed himself. It was easily one of the most beautiful proposals weíve ever had on the show. I realize Jakeís choice and his proposal to Vienna surprised some of you and itís even been called controversial. While I respect all of your opinions there is one thing I donít get. How could anybody possibly have a problem with two people falling in love with one another and finding happiness together? Iím not saying you canít be surprised or even think that one of the other women might have been better but now that heís made his final decision and you see they are together and very much in love, how can you fault that? I canít imagine telling anybody theyíre an idiot for falling in love and finding happiness. How can that be wrong? Iíve already been asked if I think it will last. The answer is ďI donít know,Ē and to pretend that I do would be ignorant as well as presumptuous. What I do know is that Jake is a good and decent man and Vienna is a good woman. They love each other very much and are committed to making this work. I wish them the best in life and love and hope to see them walk down the aisle. I hope you will all wish them the same.

For some reason lately itís become easy and somewhat in vogue to take shots at people and try to tear them down. I know happiness doesnít sell magazines and it doesnít make for sexy headlines but try to keep a little perspective. Congrats to Jake and Vienna, a happy couple who will now begin their life together.

A couple notes before I let you go this season. I loved having Jeffrey Osborne on the show to sing ďOn the Wings of Love.Ē The guy was awesome and still sounds amazing. Also, I was extremely excited to announce Ali as our next Bachelorette. She is a strong woman and will give the next group of guys a run for their money for sure.

Finally, next Monday night please be sure to tune in to see Jason and Mollyís wedding. This is going to be a wonderful event that will bring together many of your favorite former bachelors and bachelorettes. I was very pleased to be a part of their special day. Then, on Monday, March 15th I hope youíll tune in to ABC to watch the two-hour 20/20 special that will take you behind-the-scenes of the Bachelor franchise like never before. While you have youíre calendar out, I also hope youíll join me on the Oscar red carpet live from the Kodak Theatre this Sunday on TV Guide Network. Okay, I think thatís it!  From the bottom of my heart, Iíd like to thank our entire crew. On behalf of that crew, thank you so much for your support and for tuning in each week. Goodbye for now. I hope to see you this spring for the next season of The Bachelorette and see ya next season with my blogs right here on EW.com.

ABC press release in regards of Jason and Molly's wedding next Monday 3/8 @8pm

GET READY TO ATTEND THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR,
AS JASON MESNICK AND MOLLY MALANEY SAY "I DO,"
ON "THE BACHELOR: JASON AND MOLLY'S WEDDING,"
MONDAY, MARCH 8
"The Bachelor" Couple Celebrate Their Union with a Spectacular Event in Los Angeles;

Gavin DeGraw and Jason Castro Perform

Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, the first "Bachelor" couple to ever walk down the aisle, will share a dramatic new chapter of their love story with millions of viewers when ABC televises their much anticipated wedding on "The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding," MONDAY, MARCH 8 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Weeks of planning and anticipation culminate with former "Bachelor" star Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney declaring their love for one another before family, friends, past "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" couples, stars and participants, who are all there to help them celebrate. The guest list includes Trista and Ryan Sutter, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice, DeAnna Pappas, Kiptyn Locke, Jesse Csincsak, and Natalie Getz, Stephanie Hogan and Nikki Kaapke, all bachelorettes from Jason's edition of "The Bachelor."

Jason requested that platinum recording artist and singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw sing his hit, "Follow Through," from his J Records debut album, "Chariot," for the couple's first dance. Atlantic recording artist and 2008 "American Idol" third runner-up Jason Castro performs his rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," a favorite of the bride, at the ceremony. He also will premiere his new single, "That's What I'm Here For," from his soon-to-be released self-titled debut album during the wedding celebration.

In the special, the couple, who were married this past weekend and announced their engagement in October, let viewers in on all the exciting festivities. Jason and Molly begin their wedding planning by visiting a Macy's store and will be shown registering at the Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry for their nuptials. Additionally, Leslie, Jason's sister-in-law, shows Molly how she put together her outfit for the couple's special rehearsal dinner using the Macy's Fashion Director online tool (launching for consumers on March 8).

Then follow Molly to her dress fitting for her dazzling custom-made gown by Monique Lhuillier, and the couple planning the big day with their wedding planner, Jo Gartin, and event designer Eden Rodriguez. Then it's on to their bachelor and bachelorette parties in Las Vegas, and the next stage of their romantic journey with a beautiful wedding ceremony before almost 300 guests at Terra Nea Resort in Palos Verdes, California.

The wedding party includes Molly's sister, Katie, her maid of honor, and four additional bridesmaids. On Jason's side, his brothers, Larry and Sean, are both his best men. He has two additional groomsmen. Jason and his best men and groomsmen are wearing Kenneth Cole suits.

Bachelor's Jake Pavelka & Vienna Girardi Split

Many viewers of The Bachelor groaned when Jake Pavelka picked Vienna Girardi amid tabloid rumors about Girardi's wild past and accusations of betrayal and plastic surgery.

Pavelka defended her Ė and his decision Ė but just over three months later, something has gone wrong.

ďJake and Vienna have split,Ē says Janice Lee, a rep for the couple. ďThey appreciate the respect for their privacy at this time.Ē

No reason was given. After Pavelka, 32, was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars in late April, he spoke of needing to spend time with Girardi to "focus on our relationship and just see where life takes us right after that."

At the moment, Pavelka is in Atlanta, taping a guest stint on the Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva; Girardi is in Los Angeles.

Jake Pavelka: I Feel Betrayed by Vienna

Former "The Bachelor" Jake Pavelka explains his side of his break-up with former fiancťe Vienna Girardi, the woman he proposed to in front of millions of TV viewers.

Pavelka tells People magazine in a new interview that he feels betrayed by Girardi. He tells People that Girardi craved fame, saying, "She was watching these doors open for me, and it was causing an intense amount of jealousy."

According to People, Pavelka says he financially supported Girardi while she slept in "until 10:30 a.m. every day" and that he was the one to pull the plug on the relationship, over the phone. He tells People, "In my mind it's over," when it comes to any hope of a reconciliation.

When it comes to his future love life, Pavelka says, "I do want to get married, but I want to marry the right girl."

The issue of People featuring Jake hits newsstands on Friday.
