Your Top 10 Memorable AI Moments & Top 10 AI Performances
« on: March 01, 2009, 12:24:54 AM »
Just thought this might be an interesting topic to stir up more activity in this board! You can post more than 10 memorable moments if you have more to talk about! It can be good or bad moments, just share!

In no order..

#1 - Kelly Clarkson winning American Idol 1

#2 - Jennifer Hudson's elimination, with Fantasia and Latoya in bottom 3

This seriously made me lose interest in American Idol, until Season 8.

#3 - Another shocking moment of Fantasia and Latoya in AI3 Final 4 Bottom 2

Probably another significant moment that made me lose interest in AI. And that's when all Jennifer's and Latoya's fans when to Fantasia and solidified her win.

#4 - Chris Daughtry's elimination. Caused a big commotion and upset.. not only in America but all around the world.
Can't find a video for his boot.

#5 - Sanjaya's amazing 7th place finish on AI6

Week after week, he stays and became the nation's talkabout. Talk about irony, his final elimination song on AI goes.. "let's give them something to talk about.." :funny:

#6 - Carrie Underwood winning AI4

Probably along with Kelly as the most successful Idol winner, and with Chris and Jennifer Hudson as one of those who made it big in the showbiz after AI.

#7 - Jordin Sparks winning AI6

I was really happy for her!!

#8 - William Hung's She Bangs audition and aftermath from AI3.

I didn't even know what triggered the big commotion about him. :groan:

#9 - Fantasia wins AI3!!

I seriously liked all the female winners so far!

#10 - The most hilarious moment on Idol. :funny:

Tell me you didn't laugh so bad and choked like me.

And another bonus moment i liked from Idol Gives Back -

 :funny:

And my Top 10 performances (in no order as well) -

#1 - Carrie Underwood (Alone)

#2 - David Archuleta (Angels)

#3 - Fantasia Barrino (I Believe)

#4 - Fantasia Barrino (Summertime)

#5 - Jennifer Hudson (I Have Nothing)

#6 - Kristy Lee Cook (God Bless The USA)

#7 - Kelly Clarkson (I Surrender)

#8 - Jordin Sparks (I Who Have Nothing)

I know there's loads of amazing performances on AI so far.. but these are the only few which i really liked and are memorable. I know it's random with the Kristy Lee Cook song, but i think it's a really nice and heartfelt performance and it's an amazing song!

Clay Aiken singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel     Fantastic     :yess:

Josh Gracin singing "Amazed" by Lonestar

Sorry I don't know how to put You Tube onto this site    :duno:

I completey agree with Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson also

The first person I always think of is LaKisha Jones. I loved LOVED Midnight Train to Georgia, Diamonds are Forever, and I, Who Have Nothing. She wore a million dollars worth of diamonds the night she sang Diamonds Are Forever.  (Fie on Simon who always knocked for her looks and choice of clothes!)

Fantasia, she was outstanding from her first audition. This particular song blew me away.

David Archuleta singing Imagine.

Kathleen McPhee singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow, brought tears to my eyes.

Melinda Doolittle. Awesome singer.

Kelly Pickler. Loved her and her comedic ability.. Who can forget the clip with her dining with Wolfgang Puck? She fell off her chair literally when she found out it was snail on her plate.

Mandisa! I was fortunate enough to hear her sing at the AI concert in Austin. She filled the auditorium with her beautiful voice, no amping needed.

A few others that come to mind: Michael Johns singing Bohemian Rhapsody for Hollywood Week, Josiah Leming, baby-faced homeless kid playing the keyboard.

Carrie Underwood!

Other than Lakisha they are not in any particular order...

ETA! Who could forget William Hung and the fellow with the feathers on his hat, Renaldo Lapuz. Randy and Paula joined in to sing with him, "We're Brothers Forever."

I love yours picks as well TexasLady! :jam:

In my opinion, here are my top 10 favourite singers ever on AI -
1. Kelly Clarkson
2. Jennifer Hudson
3. Fantasia Barrino
4. Carrie Underwood
5. Katherine Mcphee
6. Jordin Sparks
7. David Archuleta
8. Trenyce
9. Carly Smithson
10. Any other female singers i enjoyed.

I don't really support the male contestants, unless they sing really well like Chris Daughtry or David Archuleta. :funny: Not the best singers i've picked.. but they were good!

I think everyone came up with top performances!  :yess:

Joab: I love yours too. You mention Trenyce. How could I forget her! And another I haven't thought about for a long time, Frenchie Davis who had an amazing voice but was kicked off because of photos taken when she was younger.

A friend mentions David Cook singing "Billie Jean" and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith.

Adding Adam Lambert's Mad World, Allison's I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, Matt Giraud's So Small and Kris Allen's Heartless to the list of my favourite performances ever.

Last season there were many amazing singers!

And TANTIANA from last season gave many epic memorable moments.

Tory, they all play for me except the one that was removed because of copyright infringement.  :(

Tatiana was shown briefly for the Idol Gives Back, she looked great. She did have epic moments all right. LOL
