Matten:
  • A small map showing the general area of the commune
  • A large map (4mb pdf, map on page 5) from the city website
As far as the cheese run goes, my leading candidate so far is this patch of ground (no name yet) at the edge of the "Kleiner Rugen" woods; according to GE it has a steep slope.

  Just noticed in the "Meet the Racers" video that the gay father/son have used a Segway previously.  This gives them an advantage in the Segway challenge in Switzerland.    :groan:

  good one, on the bell ringers, puddin..... so obvious   :groan:

Nice find, Puddin!  :waves: They seem to be called "Trychlers". And it wasn't a coat-of-arms silhouette, it was a bell shape.  :-[ A multi-part task? Or just some more cowbell to ring in the racers?

Match that lake!

  I'm starting to think that the paragliding is near Salzburg.  My "wild ass" guess is that it's Wolfgang Lake (Wolfgangsee).     Don't ask me why, maybe because I'm sick of looking for it already.    :groan:  Or maybe not!   :funny:

:jam:Boingo If you feel  the paragliding is near Salzburg maybe it is Trattberg Mt. and the lake is Seewaldsee. Just a hunch. Found some great sites to look at but its off to work. :groan:
I WILL TRY

Salzburg for Paragliding. That would be a good darn guess. I looked for lakes but found nothing good!  :groan:

It's definitely too flat and lacking in snow for the Interlaken area

hmmm.... I like your thinking... only your "Seewaldsee" got me looking and I came up with "Andelsbuch, Austria".   The hairs stood up on the back of my neck.....   :ascared   ....no, really.......      anyway, was looking at the valley between Andelsbuch and some unnamed lake and I swear I see that same road dividing a grove of trees.... like in the vidcap....   creeepy, huh?   ;)  I was so scared I stopped looking and hid under the bed.     OK, I made a sandwich....  who knows, all these alpine valleys are stating to look alike....  :groan:   I need a drink... :sucks

;D  It's no mistake that Lugano (in Ticino canton) is known as the "Monte Carlo of Switzerland".   :snicker:

This may or may not help at all but the flag hanging above the band in this shot

just happens to be the colours of Dorfbeuern which is a municipality in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung Link

...of course it could also be somewhere totally different, because red and blue are pretty popular flag colours....
