Mumbai: Interesting and Sad
« on: November 27, 2008, 12:56:27 AM »
It is really sad what is happening in Mumbai today. The Hotel Taj Mahal is across the street from the "Gateway to India." The Gateway was the Pit Stop in TAR4. It was where the NFL Moms were eliminated. The Oberoi Hotel is where, I think it was John and Kelly, went for information from the concierge for train information. Victoria Station is where they caught the train to Penval Station. All three locations are involved in the terrorist attacks today.

I have stayed/eaten/walked in all three of those locations. Between Bangkok and Mumbai I am so saddened, and praying for those caught in the terror.

When I first heard about it Yesterday morning I couldn't believe it.  Through the show we get to see places/ people and cultures that many of us never get to witness in real life, and it makes the violence we see nightly on the news hit just a little more (which it always should).

Hoping your friends  are just being cautious and staying home, since the police seem to be shooting first and asking questions later.  The news just seems to get worse doesn't it?

TAR 12 showed us so much of Mumbai, and it seems like yesterday as well.

Mumbai feels so familiar after seeing it on TAR. I do hope that things get resolved soon.

It's pretty sad. A Singaporean hostage was murdered by the terrorists.

My husband works in Mumbai and Delhi and I am so scared about him going back next week.  I wouldn't mind if he just stayed in his hotel(not that it helped those poor people) on his free time but he goes out running at least 5 miles everyday.

I am in BKK and were supposed to travel to Manila. My trip got cancelled because of airport seige. Mumbai is of course just more sad. My heart goes out to everyone affected by it.
