You'd think a bakery could have given Nick a birthday cake! Good eye G-man! I'll bet you are right...unless it was lunch?? Puddin showed us this: Bread in Ken's hand?

I am watching at we speak (and laughing so hard I am crying). They spent a total of 160 on shoes. They had 467 total and ended with just over 300.

Nope it is confirmed in the cab ride when they are thinking they wont have enough money. They mention how they think it will be 250. And hope it wont be more.
If they already spent 300 and they started with 467 then 250 would already be far more then what they have. But if it was 160 total out of 467 that leaves them 307. Then the fare going over 300 (which it should based on the info from Dallas) would still leave them short. But not so much that they guy would let them eventually leave when he found they had nothing else.

Astonishingly stupid.
Did they not learn any TAR history where a Team in a similar situation got shoes for free at the airport's lost and found!

And based on phil's speech in leg three there is at least one other U-Turn on the race. He states how you can use the power of the U-Turn only once on the race, and teams need to decided when its the best time to use it.
ANd it isn't voice over from the previous year. You see him stating it in the clothes and locations used for the first u_turn.
I do think they wouldn't include it on the next leg unless 1. The producers are evil....
2. the speedbump took place after the detour (so far that hasn't been the case its been before the roadblock and detour).
So I would assume that it happened on another leg and either more important stuff happened, it was used on a team so incredible far behind that it wasn't necessary to show, or no one used it.
Last season we had a speedbump and U-Turn, think India the Goths. Or it just might be like said above, an un-aired one that had no outcome so was not shown.

That would have been a smart thing to do, but they probably did not have that option. Are airport lost and found counters open 24 hours a day? Dan/Andrew would have arrived at Almaty airport after 1am and left at 605am, so the chances of a lost and found being open were not high.

In the clips for episode #8 Ken mentions how they have started working with Nick & Starr again. They will see how that last when they reach the next U-Turn. Now he might have might have been kidding, but it also implies that as of the start of leg 8 they hadn't had the 2nd u-turn yet.

I have to update my comment about the mysterious brown package each team picks up at the bakery after they deliver the 50-pound bags of flour. In every scene after the bakery the teams are carrying the package. When they reach the mat they still have hold of the package. End of story. So what is it with the package? I guess that, like many other tasks in previous TARs, it is something they are told to bring with them to the pit stop. But the receipt of the package has been edited out since all four teams remembered to bring it along with them. If one team, read dumb and dumber, left it somewhere it probably would have resulted in some kind of penalty being given. If the strange package were something the teams were going to keep; I would think that they would have stashed it away in their backpacks instead of clutching it in their hot little hands all the way to the pit stop.,

I saw that Dandrew still had their little package when they with trying to give their shoes to the taxi driver at the Pit stop.
So, I suspect they were supposed to bring it to Phil.

If it were a Travelocity gnome in the package then it certainly would have been revealed. The same applies for any product placements. The package had to contain something that was not product placement. I am guessing teams got it at either the Monastery or somewehere near the bakery in Zhukovsky.
