From AXN:

From M McKay at AXN:

Quote
The next couple of Legs are going to be tough for the Racers, there is no let up for now and they will be tested yet again. I am not so fussed about big travel Legs in this third series, in fact we deliberately went for short, sharp Legs. We wanted this Race to be relentless and I think we've succeeded. So don't expect the focus to be on long travel sectors (unless it is in a bus or something like that).

and
Quote
This week on TARA the Race continues to be unrelenting and punishing. And, I'm sorry to say (for the Racers at least) there is no sign of a let up just yet ;)

Okay...speculating now and just tossing this out there...

The one gap we have so far in our Timeline (see page 1) so far is May 26-27--after Hue and before HK.

Based on a little hint I was given  and based on geographical proximity, puddin and I  have been talking about TAIWAN for the missing location.

Apskip---can we make it fit with flights? Vietnam to Taiwan to HK?

Puddin and I think it might fit in well here...

May 26 teams are released from pitstop in a range of morning times.
As leg 4 begins they fly to Taipei on either

HUI HAN VN240 0820 0955 combined with HAN TPE CI684 1135 1510  OR
HUI HAN VN244 1255 1405 combined with HAN TPE CI9024 1720 2100

There is also a Hue Saigon VN251 0910 1030 connecting with BR392 1255 1730 to get to Taipei. It accomplishes nothing unless a team cannot make 0820 departure but could make 0910 or unless VN240 had no more Amazing Race Asia seats.

I have also looked at flights from DaNang to both Hanoi and Saigon. They do not change much. DAD SGN VN323 1340 1450 could connect with BR396 1555 2025, which provides a 45 minute earlier arrival than the combination through Hanoi.

Some MAPS!

Bsed on license tag analysis of this photo by Neobie, Slowhatch, Boingo, and Anthonyctf--The location was confirmed as TAIWAN.

Eat something nasty Roadblock: (Ida eats, Tania sympathy barfs, lol!)

And there is a key stuck in the ignition, prompting this team to want to quit:

Possible Standard Chartered Bank (sponsor) connection or related task?   (thanks to tequilamoon)

I have to give credit to those who thought it was stinky tofu. The things they put in there to make it. My mother says it's not good.

I believe it's practically rotten when it's served. That's why it's stinky. My mother would not tell me what they do to make it because she says, "It not decent."

I can't believe this still wasn't a NEL! There are only 6 teams left; I certainly hope the producers haven't scheduled 3 successive NELs.

Wide regional and individual variations exist in manufacture and preparation. Most typically, it consists of tofu, which has been marinated in a brine made from fermented milk, vegetables, and meat for as long as several months. The brine can also include dried shrimp, amaranth greens, mustard greens, bamboo shoots, and Chinese herbs.

Stinky tofu can be eaten cold, steamed, stewed, or most commonly, fried. It is often accompanied by chili sauce. The color varies from the golden fried Zhejiang-style to the black typical of Hunan-style stinky tofu.

From a distance, the odor of stinky tofu is said to resemble that of rotten garbage or manure, even by its enthusiasts. In spite of stinky tofu's smell, most say the flavor is surprisingly mild. However there are some that think otherwise. In fact, some have been so appauled by the taste that they couldn't so much as swallow it without bringing it all back up at once. Some few people have compared it to the taste of blue cheese. It has also been compared to foie gras. In some instances the taste has even been compared to rotten meat. It is said the more it smells, the 'better' its flavor.

Taiwan
Stinky tofu is the unofficial national snack food of Taiwan and is universally loved. It is very commonly served on roadside stands and in night markets. It is primarily served dry (deep fried) or, less commonly, wet (with goose blood and Sichuan mala soup).

Addendum - Schuān ml, more commonly referred to as mala sauce, is a very popular Chinese oily and spicy sauce that was originated in the Sichuan Province of central China and used extensively in their cuisine. It has become one of the most common seasonings in Chinese cuisine, gaining popularity anywhere where there are large populations of Chinese. The term ml is a combination of two Chinese characters: "numbing" (麻) and "hot (piquant)" (辣), referring to the feeling in the mouth after eating the sauce. The sauce is used in a wide variety of cooking methods from stir-fry, stews, and soup, to being used in hot pot or as a dipping sauce. In the Sichuan and Yunnan provinces mala powder (麻辣粉; pinyin: mlfĕn) is used liberally on snacks and street foods, such as stinky tofu, fried potatoes, and barbecued meats and vegetables.

My guess is that the eaters have problems with not just stinnky tofu, but also Sichuan Mala soup if it was included in their "banquet".
