The problem is that the view from One tree Hill is pretty similar. I've looked at a pile of
My trip to the volcano" You Tubes and I just can't tell.

That view you did  puddin? looks really really close to me but I think this will take the GE boys to be sure.

I'll never have to take the bus tour that's for sure!

lol Puddin, i was there with you

so that leaves  Terence/Sarah or Aja/Ty

cause we see

Toni/Christy/andrew or Dan/pink doing the road block

spanglers doing a detour and Terence/Sarah

so Aja/Ty get the FF even after a flat or because of it

T/S can be seen at the Kiwi mash; I'm thinking Aja/Ty or Ken/Tina for the FF.

That scene hits different people in different ways. I don't think Brooke was actually scared, as she laughed in a high-pitched voice. I think she was startled. Maori warriors with all of their markings (like tattoos) on their bodies do look totally fierce, but Halloween was still 6 months away(Halloween is celebrated in New Zealand on Gut Fawkes Day Nov. 5).

Halloween is not celebrated on Guy Fawkes day here (NZ) - Guy Fawkes day is about fireworks, not trick-or-treating.

A small minority of the population celebrate halloween on the same day the Americans do, but it is generally viewed as an over-commercialised event which is a reflection of bad American customs.

Guy Fawkes day is a "celebration" of this person: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_fawkes It is not so much a celebration, but more an excuse to set off fireworks.

Randomizer, well somebody in New Zealand thinks Halloween in New Zealand is celebrated on Guy Fawkes Day:

Halloween Traditions

Halloween from Around the World
Halloween in New Zealand

In New Zealand they celebrate Guy Fawkes Day as the day for Halloween. It is popularly a night for mischief and is called Mischief Night or Danger Night, which is on November 5th.

My source is http://www.jackolanterns.net/newzealandhalloween.htm as reported by AustralianMedia.com

I bet Ken/Tina take the FF. We know that someone's way behind in leaving NZ and that Aja/Ty were most likely in last place in Cambodia - I'd venture to say that they go for the FF because of their flat tire but get aced out by K/T, losing some time in the process (but not enough to get eliminated? someone else must have messed up bad for that to happen).

From selwyn:

Quote
It was confirmed from very reliable industry sources, TAR was definitely in New Zealand (Auckland and Middle-North Island) - from April 31 to May 2 or 3. A race spoiler I got was that at least one team missed a bus or similar and arrived at a challenge a day behind other teams (well, the following morning anyhow) - I hear this because the local crew hired to do the POV pickup shots had to revisit the location that morning to get matched lighting conditions.
I do believe that they were on schedule in NZ (so based on the request for drivers, that was April 30th (NZST) to May 2nd, however I expect that at least part of the production crew arrived earlier

The word I heard from my source was that a team 'missed the bus' and didn't arrive somewhere (I got the impression is was a cluebox) until the morning after other teams (although no word on what time of day the other teams got there the previous day).

What if a team missed a flight? Could that put them a day behind? Could that happen? Has anyone mentioned how different the lighting is when the blonds are there?

(yes I'll go read the flights apskips  )

hey peach! the thumbnail codes work now  :yess:

heres Justin's stuff, so he for sure saw Christy & Kelly, that goes without saying ..

Santiago, Chile 4/30/08

Teams seen in Santiago Airport:
My flight out of Santiago   by Justin Vorel
*And as a special bonus the several teams from the Amazing Race through the airport while I was there.

More from Jason
*He was in the airport on April 30th.
*He saw teams, each accompanied by a camera and sound guy start arriving in the early evening.
*They all appeared exhausted and after ticketing at different counters, some went for a bite to eat and some just crashed. He emphasized that he didn't know what they had been doing, but all seemed tired and dirty.
*He saw teams arriving in 2 "waves".
*The first prob 5 to 6 teams (some difficulty sorting out camera people from teams) arriving earlier maybe 4-5PM and the second smaller group of 1 or 2-3 arriving an hour or so later.

Re teams:
*He saw 2 girls he called "the sisters" (but could have been friends also) dressed in blue shirts
*2 younger teams --couples he thinks
*One older gray haired maybe 45 yrs man (unclear here whether racer or production)
*He points out that almost all the Int flights leave Santiago in the eve. He thinks most of the teams were going by 7+ or so. His flight left about 8.

if there are two flights and Kelly and Christy are on the first one, some one must mess up at the airport because Kelly and Christy will be departing last on Sunday's leg

Well the teams don't fly from La Paz directly to Auckland Michael, so anything can change the order.
This is the only flight I could find, Santiago Chile to Auckland ..posted by apskips

Just thinking outloud here, trying to figure out how a team got a day behind.

The new P&B blast is up; I mention it here because they include a slightly different look at the pitstop.

Michael, given the dependent clause, you are correct on cause and effect. The only way you get somebody one day behind is if they do not make the plane in Santiago. Here are the choices for a problem:

1. A serious weather delay or plane problem LaPaz to Santiago departing at 0715 and connecting through Santa Cruz and Buenos Aires to arrive SCL 1710.

2. A different weather delay or plane problem on LAN365 from LaPaz to Santiago stopping in Iquique and arriving SCL 1745.

Now, there was an alternate possibility 4 days a week(including Wednesdays) on AR2811 EZE AKL 2355 0500+2. The flight combination to EZE from LPB gets in to Buenos Aires at 1710, 6 3/4 hours before the trans-South Pacific departure, so the risk of missing it is small.

Phil on Boonie Hunt said that after 10 hours of waiting at the pitstop that his dad wanted to put a jacket on etc, so with that we know it was a very long wait for Phil and dad for teams or a team.

I just walked in the door so will let you all know what other goodies Phil had to say later.

Casting my vote that it's Ken and Tina who do the FF... and why would the girls be a whole day behind?  They're not leaving Bolivia that much behind everyone else...
