We didn't do that bad. One of our original correspondents, for example, mentioned the brass bands, but we just put the pieces together wrong.

Beautiful screencaps, puddin!

Our La Paz source had the bikes, the headdresses, the bands, the U-turn, The Plaza Avaroa, and the Pitstop in Monticulo absolutely right! Kudos to her!

But hey--Do we get points for creativity?

Plaza Estudiante??

Don't laugh but it looks like a minaret to me. I looked around Almaty but didn't see anything similar.

From an interview with Anthony and Stephanie over in the Racers thread where they are talking about Anita and Arthur in Sequesterville,

"Anthony: We couldn’t have asked for a more accepting, warm welcome. I think they were a little more welcoming than we were to the next couple that showed up."

Maybe a hint that the next elimination is a M/F team?
This will explain that quote ..

If it was a regular 12 hour Pit Stop then they would have started at 12:51 am on April 26th (Ken & Tina).  They said nothing about the flights    Our best possible flight construction would have them reaching La Paz at 8:00 pm also on the 26th.  So, after sleeping with Simon Bolivar, they would have awakened on the morning of the 27th.

And they arrived in darkness at EL Alto airport La Paz, so the 8:00 pm is okay.  But we know that all the activities happened on April 28th from our spoiler witness.  One day unaccounted for.

I guess it has to have been an extended Pit Stop in Forteleza.  Lots of time to toss underwear about.  This was not where we expected one because we are sure there has to be one in La Paz.  And I don't remember there ever being extended Pit Stops back-to-back before.

To add to the frustrations we have the teams starting from the Estátua de Iracema and not from the Pit Stop's original location at Cidade da Criança.

So they took an entire day to get to La Paz?

That was my thought too!  Without all the airport drama, we have do not know what flights they took.  Even though the map showed 2 flights traveling to La Paz, I wonder if they were truly non-stop flights.

Strong episode.

Gator, if you can find a decent route from Fortaleza to LaPaz in under 3 flight segments, then:

1. Take it and
2. Let me know.

You will spend a great deal of time, even more than I have and Chateau apparently has. If a good 2 flight segment route in a time of day logical for the teams were available, I would have found it. I didn't.
