I don't know what Phil is trying to say. Several blogs confirm what Boingo, Chateau and others have mentioned: the Multi is in La Ceja, right next door to the airport on the edge of the escarpment ( map and more info).

I hope this may clear up the U-turn question. Or make it worse This clip was taken next to Estatua Libertador Simón Bolivar in El Prado. Note the sidewalk pattern of El Prado and the flag poles that are next to Bolivar. And the building in the background matches.

The U-turn should be near the place where they get the bikes right? That's where our source saw the bikes, the headdresses, the U-turn sign all together. I think they start the bike ride at the Bolivar statue and ride to the park where our source saw the bikes. It's down hill to get there. So the U-turn is not by the Bolivar statue. But maybe they find out about it at the statue.

one thing to keep in mind -- i don't think the teams would be standing there like that having a discussion in the middle of a leg, unless they were waiting for something.

But maybe they find out about it at the statue. I doubt if TAR would allow the racers to ride their wooden bikes on such a busy avenue... they would be at great risk in traffic. I suspect a smaller side street instead, if here at all.

BTW the El Prado/bike ride shots are April 28th while the Cholita shots are April 27th. So they had an overnight situation where they could wash clothes and get their underwear tossed about Maybe they are at an 'hours of operation' for the bike ride to start. It looks early, no sun.

I always thought that our source saw the bikes in her park before teams arrive. So if the bikes are there, then teams need to collect them there, right? And start the ride there right? And that park is where in relation to this statue? And the park is where the U-turn sign is too. But SUPER job on the Bolivar statue!! Guess we need to review the flights now, this is the tricky flight leg right?

I suspected that she sees the bikes there during or after the arrivals. There could be 18 of them ultimately. They can't start the ride there because it is at a lower elevation. And the first promo clip of the racer on a wooden bike is pin pointed to be on his way to the park. Link

Okay now that makes sense to me... Nice, Chateau! So they start the bikes here, and end in the park >>and that's where the U-turn is... So we are gonna have a bunching and all the Roadblock times will prob not even matter... So....what's the other Detour? Anybody have any ideas?? And this is the 28th, they aren't seen in Santiago for the flight to Auckland till 4/30, and now that we know that Santiago isn't a leg, this has to be an extended pitstop.

Alpaca Export and Andino Internacional both come back with the same address in Villa San Antonio to the northeast of Sopocachi. On the other hand, the only tunnel I can find in the Sopocachi area is the tunel Instituto Americano, which does sort of match the promo caps. Odd

(If you've ever heard El Condor Pasa you have an idea of what huaynos/waynos are about) okay my bf thinks I'm officially insane when over heard this! lmao No idea what huaynos/waynos are but did discover what a Alpaca is, I have a blanket made out of this and although I'm against killing animals for its fur, it was bought for me as a gift and my cats find it purr-fect to sleep on.

Nice find Slowhatch. You found the tunnel. Really!
I saw it in the map you linked to. And it is exactly on the route to the park where we have a clip of a racer on his wooden bike.
