sticking these here before I forget thumbnails .. Subida Monticulo MONTICULO, LA PAZ PLAZA ESPAÑA PLAZA SPAIN. Don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the distinguished author of "Don Quixote", asked the King of Spain on May 21 of 1590, he was awarded the post of "Corregidor in the city of La Paz in Bolivia." However, "on June 6, 1590, the Council of Indians, through its rapporteur Dr. Nuñez Morquecho, negó la solicitud del glorioso soldado privándolo del justo premio de acceder a este honorable cargo. Nuñez Morquecho, denied the request of the glorious soldier deprived of a fair prize to access this honorable post.

If they didn't use the fountain for the Pitstop, this would be pretty! Only listed as ceremonial altar in Monticulo La Paz, so exactly where... http://mapasdebolivia.com/postales/monticulo_lapaz_1.jpg

Michael, I basicallly agree with you. It looks like mid-afternoon to me and on April 27, sunrise was at 644am and sunset was 617pm. With the shadows of a mid-afternoon sun that was in the southwest, I am going to take a guess at direction and say that they are walking in the direction of northeast. EDITOR's NOTE - I have fogotten that in the fall the sun in the Southern Hemisphere should move from northeast to northwest. In mid afternoon, that would make the shadows be in the direction of southeast.

http://www.panoramio.com/photo/7289402#commentPlaza Abaroa is flat. There's no hill. So I guess it's Monticulo park. You can see a big hill behind them. It's like a mountain too. Where did she get the bowler hat from? Either here or from the cholitas. But there's only one hat so I guess it's from the cholitas. Who has the money to buy a hat?
