Age: 53
Hometown: New Orleans, LA
Occupation: Beauty Salon Owner
Marital Status: Married

Renny describes herself as vivacious, witty, passionate, dynamic and entertaining. She's a proud New Orleans socialite, the life of the party, who loves hanging out in the French Quarter with her family as well as friends. She claims to have outfits, as well as wigs, for any and all social occasions. Among the things that she is most proud of was being chosen as an NFL Saints dancer in 1977 out of the 2,000 girls that applied. She likes a wide variety of music including Soul, Pop and Jazz. While she has never been an actor or a singer, she especially enjoys showing off her Elvis, Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe impersonations at parties.

Renny studied at the University of New Orleans as well as the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, the Jingles International Hair Academy in New York City and the Paul Mitchell Institute in Costa Mesa, CA. She currently operates her own hair salon.

Renny has been happily married for 27 years, has two grown children, and says her husband has always encouraged her to do the things she loves. She thinks the separation between them while she is in the House will be okay as her husband has traveled quite a lot for business. She describes her perfect romantic partner as sensitive, sexy, brave, has a sense of humor and is a romantic at heart. She had a great relationship with her mother who served as her receptionist at her hair salon. Her dad was a World War II veteran.

Her birth date is July 29, 1954.

It's a wig with a feather- she says she likes wigs!  Guessin' the feather is left over from Marte Gras (sp?) :funny:

Just kidding- but I have no clue-think she is gonna be a character though!  Wait till she sees the bathroom! :funny:

Hair Stylist from New Orleans
Mother
married happily for 28 years
Fan of the show, her daughter told her about the audition
No orgies in the hot tub for her
Thinks America will love her
Has an outfit and wig for all occasions
Will bring some glamour to the BB house
But people will have to see her without makeup-- :ascared
Very patriotic
Will vote for who she thinks is the best
Doesn't care if there is stuff on her on the Internet--eager to play the game
some story about being cheated in Thailand
 she is making a funny face every other second :neener: (literally)

I'm all set to like her...but in reality I expect that she is going to get very old very fast...that exuberance could be either annoying---or not? ???

So far everything i have seen of Renny on the clips and commercials seems to be her to a tee.    She's a bundle of energy, funny, fierce but at the same time responsible a good friend and mother and a very sweet woman.

I think she's got a good chance of getting AC. The thing that concerns me is
the editing is so slanted towards making Jerry a good guy. He won the phone
call because of that!

That would be the WORST!! I am kinda hoping that America voted that way because they thought he might be a target because he got it. Renny is AWESOME- I truly hope she wins America's Choice- if they have it this year, that is!!!

I'd like to think America voted for the phone call because of his wife. But if they knew the Jerry WE know.. Hopefully Renny will get some star time so people can see how funny and remarkable she is.  :yess:

The way they edit is almost mind boggling isn't it! For example, Dan in the HOH getting people to agree to target each other, it was edited to be him asking and each one saying OK, I'll do it. They didn't show that it took Dan begging them to do it.

You are so right. That irritated me so much! They should have shown more of Renny resisting- she knew exactly what he was trying to do. GRRRRRRR!!

Renny's exit interview with ew.com

EW.com spoke to Big Brother 10 evictee Renny Martyn, the 53-year-old beauty salon owner from New Orleans, about everything from her classy exit to her eccentric wardrobe (but sadly, we couldnít talk to her about Gustav, because for some screwy reason CBS thinks she doesnít need to know about another hurricane back home).

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I am crestfallen that youíre out of the house.

RENNY MARTYN: Not as much as I am.

You were priceless on your way out. Youíre the only houseguest so far to take the time to shake everybodyís hand.

They looked like a bunch of Christmas trees all lit up when I saw them. It was amazing. I never experienced anything like that.

Why the hell did Jerry say you did ďwonders for the foodĒ in that exit video?

Jerry is a horseís ass. Come on. He is! Jerry and I never really got along. Heís so boring. Honey, the only thing an old man can do for me is to bring a message from a younger man. He wasnít my kind of person.

How did he treat the women in the house?

At first, he thought he struck gold with the young women who were sitting on his lap, but they were just using him because he was HOH. He was getting a little frisky but it didnít last long. To me he was a dirty old man. He didnít really [give me a hard time], but if he did I probably would be out of the house. He did point his finger in peopleís faces all the time but he couldnít do that to me.

NEXT: Renny's outfits, her love of candy bars, and her take on April...

On the website, CBS says you are a beauty shop owner, but in the house, you said you were retired. Why?

I didnít want them to know I owned a business. It was just for gameís sake.

It was a welcome change to see two mature players like yourself and Jerry in the house. But seriously...how did you manage to hang in there with those young idiots? Did you want to blow your head off?

The reason I got this far was that I got in the mix with the younger people -- unlike Jerry, who everyone was trying to get away from. Even me. When heíd come out, Iíd go in.

Was anyone ageist in any way to you?

Many times people couldnít believe my age. I think thatís what helped me in the game. They really donít know me. I can party with the best of them.

So how many outfits did you bring to the house?

I only brought one boa but I brought eight sequin caps. I had quite a wardrobe, and a lot of accessories -- but they are priceless to me because I bought them over time.

Do you really eat candy bars in your sleep?

I ate a lot of candy in that house. Actually I like piece of candy at night. I was awake (when she ate that Almond Joy in bed). The others thought I was sleepwalking. I was just choking their chain. I was awake, listening to their conversation.

You did spar a lot with Dan. What did you really think of him?

Heís sneaky but I like Dan. Sometimes I didnít. He said something derogatory about my loving my son more than my daughter and I spanked his behind real hard. My hand hurt bad. Dan is infatuated with older women. I donít think he should get married soon. He needs to sow his wild oats.

What did you mean when you said to Julie that Dan ends up in your bed?

He was always in my bed talking. He asked to sleep with me once and I told him to get out of here, boy!

Once and for all, if it's 8:40 a.m. here in Los Angeles, what time is it in New Orleans?

It would be six hours behind. So it would be 10:40 a.m. there.

Early in the season, we saw Jessie have a meltdown because of your late night squealing. Talk about that fight with him.

He was a goofball. He was very immature, obviously. It wasnít anything. The light was totally out and there were suitcases on the floor. I couldnít see. Iím older. I didnít want to break a leg but I tripped over a suitcase. I screamed. He said I woke him up. I apologized in the bathroom but he made such a big deal out of it. Thatís why I canít stand the colonel [the house's nickname for Jerry]. He never let me explain what happened. But he let the young guy explain.

Whoís the person you are least looking forward to seeing in the jury house?

April. I donít like her. Sheís an OCD freak. Sheís not very nice. She was always throwing my leftovers away. I like leftovers. Sheíd say nobody would eat them. She has problems.

Do you have any old business to take care of when you see Libra, April, Michelle and Ollie?

Nope. Iím not going to get into any. They all lie. I donít believe anything anymore. It doesnít matter what they said. Iíll pull up, say "hereís another loser," so they can all have a laugh.

Exit interview with buddytv.com

After all that we've seen on Big Brother, it is near impossible to dislike Renny.  Call her annoying, call her insane, call her volatile, whatever, Renny's overarching goodness is difficult to ignore.  The New Orleans lady about town played a solid game, putting forth a veiled sort of intelligence.  Renny knows people, and generally held all the right suspicions about her fellow houseguests, especially later in the Big Brother season.  Her presence will be missed, though I'd love some footage of Renny defending Keesha's honor in the jury house.  Renny kindly answered some email questions we sent her before making the long trek to the jury house.  You will find the answers, unedited and in their entirety, below.

Renny, how much different was the Big Brother experience from what you expected it to be?

It  was much more difficult than I ever could imagine.  The difference being it's much more work in manuering people than I expected.

What was the most pleasant surprise and why? Biggest disappointment?

The most pleasant surprise was the steak and Lobster feast.  The biggest disappointment naturally would be the fact I lost the game.

Did you have a gameplan going into the house?  Did you follow it?

I had a gameplan going into the house.  I followed it as best I could, however gameplans somehow don't pan out.  Actually when your playing in the BB house you sometimes have to go with the game plays you.

Looking back on the season, what was the biggest mistake you made in the Big Brother house?

The biggest mistake I made was not winning the Rock A Bye Veto.

What would you have done differently if given the chance?

I would have studied the Memory Wall with my glasses and magnifying glass.

Who, if anyone, do you think was unlucky and should have gotten farther in the game?

Angie was unlucky with Keesha, and I feel she should have gotten further in the game.

Is there anyone who you wish you had had a better relationship with in the house?

I had relationships with the houseguests I connected with. If I didn't have a relationship in the house it wasn't meant to be.  So the answer is no one!
