Worst was the first season but now that I really think about the overall terms - TAR8 sucked. I did not like it at all, at least I liked the other 11 seasons in some form of way.

Seasons 6 and 7 are almost a tie, refer to my previous message for more details...

Hmmm. Ranking them is interesting. If I had to rank the Top 5, I'd go this way:

1. TAR7
2. TAR 12
3. TAR 2
4. TAR All Stars
5. TAR 5

Well the hard thing is often the route is great in a season where I am less fond of the racers.  For example I love the route and tasks in season 6 and 4, and am not in general fond of those casts.

Then there are seasons like 7 and 9 where I generally liked the interactions between teams (even the ones I didn't like) but didn't care for a lot of the route and tasks.

UPDATED:

My best casts (I won't count 8 or 11): TAR 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14 (10 had a cast of such different and unusual people that you had to be interested)
My worst cast: 12 (Too many from California and they all seemed to be similar to each other with a few exceptions)

My best route/tasks: 5, 6, 7, 10, 14 (10 had an unpredictable route and I liked a majority of the tasks)
My worst route/tasks: 11, 12, 13 (12 had new countries, but nothing too exciting in the tasks)

here's mine:

Top 5 best seasons are 5, 9, 12, 3 and 7.

Top 5 worst seasons are Family Edition, All-Stars, 1, 4 and 6.

My favorite seasons are 6,5, 3, 10, 1, and 2. While I love TAR the other seasons were not as enjoyable due to the teams personalities. Family edition
I don't even consider a TAR at all.

Season 6 was the most intense based on competition as they were many m/f couples with equal age range and ability. One of my favorite Detuors-Count it or build it, showed something simple can be difficult under pressure and despite Jonathan I really enjoyed TAR6.

Season 5 had the most diverse in terms of places visited. I loved the Egypt leg when they went down into the pyramid. Chip was a decent guy and had to yield C&K t as he wasn't as strong at his age as Colin. The racers as a group were pretty enjoyable yes, even C/K and of course TAR 5 gave us C/M.

Season 3 was saved by Flo not despite her. Her and Zack made that season otherwise it was pretty boring team wise. Locations and tasks were not very interesting.

Season 1 Genesis and gave us team Guido, K/D, and first break up .
Season 2 gave us D/O and the closest TAR finish to date.
Season 10 gave us Beauty Queens, Bama, and Kentucky. I also really liked the Mongolian and Vietnam legs. Especially, the rowwing part as it was the very physical but it came at such an early stage of the race it gave weaker teams a taste of hard difficult TAR is as those tasks are usually in later legs.

TAR4 was ruined by K&J personal attacks on fellow racers. Out of all the "villians" in TAR history K&J are the worst. K&J attacked C&R because they are gay, Millie for a mole, Chuck for facial hair, other cultural because they are different. K&J are worse then Guidos, Romber, Beauty Queens and Jonathan.

UMASS, you may be surprised to learn that there was no C&K on AR5, my favorite season. I assume you have misspellled Christie as starting with a K, but that's wrong. We have Colin & Christie, C&C, as the only team remotely close to your version of their initials.

EDITOR's NOTE - cdfe88 has correctly stated that C&K was CHip and Kim. I have them blotted out of my memory for the luckiest win in any Amazing Race. What I say above is not relevant.

It's been a while...  The best season to date for me has been Season 14! - Love almost everything about it!

1. Season 14 - Tammy/Victor, Brad/Victoria, Jaime/Cara, Steve/Linda, Jodi/Christie, Mark/Michael, Mel/Mike, Amanda/Kris, <3<3<3<3, Locations <3<3<3

3. All Stars - Romber got eliminated by Charla/Mirna <3<3<3! I can rewatch it over and over again and not get tired! BQ Ownage!, Ozzy/Danny, Guidos, Classical! (Let's pretend that this season never actually ended... CBS probably accidentally flushed down the real final episode down the toilet so they made one up just to have a season finale...)

4. Season 3 - Flo domination! Locations love! First season to get the feeling of the race itself getting harder

5. Season 5 - Philippines love! Collin/Christie's Broken Ox!

2. Season 4 - One of the best in the beginning, ending in disaster after Millie/Chuck gets eliminated

2. Season 9 - Bah. I actually forgot a season like this ever existed. It actually had one of the best race routes, only to be devoured by wrong casting.

My favourite season are:

Season 6: I liked that first three legs were in Nordic countries. Other good locations were Hungary and Sri Lanka. Interesting teams. Jonathan & Victoria and Lori & Bolo are my favourites. I love fighting couples  Kris and John were great too.

Season 9: This is my favourite season only because of BJ & Tyler. I liked them and like them still. I liked also MoJo and Eric & Jeremy. It was great that Race finally visited Japan!

Season 10: Great teams: Dustin & Kandice, James & Tyler and Mary & Dave. Great locations: Finland (finally ), Ukraine, Mauritius, Madagascar and Spain.

My least favourite seasons are 7, Family Edition and All-Stars. In All-Stars there were too many legs in South America, same with season 7. I don't know why but I don't like American legs (and Family Edition was only in America!). Season 7 was great after they left India and Lynn & Alex were eliminated. With All-Stars I was sad that great teams Rob & Amber and John Vito & Jill were eliminated so early.

slowhatch, Nobody else has risen ot the occasion, but anyone from the New York metro area can see the Empire State Building prominent in this photo. I believe it is a shot form midtown Manhattan, with downtwon Manhattan barely visible in the distance. If it were the other way around then there would be other large buildings visible in the background.

  Yep, you're closing in. I tried at first to work a solution from the ESB, but gave up after a while; I finally found an answer when I could put a name on the unusual-looking building next to the standup.

The best seasons

Season 3 and 6.

I loved both, great locations, great suspense (6), great touch (3). Wonderful cast from the third season, and an excellent choice of entertainment from TAR 6.
