I found this interesting too:

Ricky Ow, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of SPE Networks – Asia, the parent network of the AXN channel, claimed, “It will be the toughest race ever as there will be many challenges that the contestants will not expect or be mentally prepared for. The teams will have shorter resting time, the journey will be harder, and the speed of the race will be faster and more intense. This, combined with the new cast, you can expect many dramatic moments, tears, twists and turns, and an overall thrilling ride for viewers.”

Fewer extended pitstops??

Re: Chiang Mai Amazing Race

so the details that I have:
-There were three couples.  one was two shorter women.  they had black backpacks
on and on the packs were yellow stickers that had an army slogan (i.e. "you can
do it").  I remember them as wearing all black as well.  They were rather short
5'5"or less and while I don't want to sound prejudicial my two friends that I
was traveling with (who are both gay) totally thought these two women were too.
i actually never saw their faces.  i will fwd to my friends and see if they have
any info.  the second couple i think was two younger (20s/30s)guys...will have
to double check.  the third was definitely a guy and a girl (prob. dating).
they were both white.  she had longer brown/black hair and was really skinny and
wearing a little tank top.  he had a british accent b/c he's the one that said
"" i don't know what you're talking about"  THey looked to be in their early
30s.

-We were at the Chiang Mai airport on May 22.  Our flight was scheduled to land
around 2pm so I think that's roughly the time.
Our bags were the first off the
carousel.

-We were the only flight in baggage claim at the time and I really really don't
think they were on our plane (it wasn't very full and I hope I would have
noticed them).  They ran past us as we were waiting for our taxi to pull up at
the curb outside of baggage claim (they were running from right to left as you
have your back to the terminal...woah that's a lot of detail).  Oddly the third
couple (guy/girl) were pushing their gear on a trolley and she was definitely
looking for something whereas the other two couples were just running by.  I
also distinctly remember that they came from further down the curbside and not
from in the terminal...may help with the coming vs going issue.  All three ran
past us to the end of the terminal.  I was actually confused about whether they
were coming or going.  i think I would eliminate coming but whether they were
going or passing through i can't tell you.  the trolley thing threw me off.

I'll pass along anything else as it comes to me.  Sorry no pics.

happy tracking!

I could see the girls in black being Ida & Tania but where does the white pair fit in ?  :duno:

YAY :jumpy: Is me again
TARA3 Will air at 11-9-08 but I still have a spoilers in HK Leg
First Scottott in HKDiscuss said that
His/Her brother saw TARA3 race in Lamma Island
However Scottott did not say about the time and the date
But Lamma Island has a boat to Aberdeen and it is near Stanley(Blake Pier)
So maybe this Spoilers is true
Next 302618816 in HKDiscuss said that
His/Her Friends saw some people
wear a T-shirt/Jacket which have written The Amazing Race in front of the clothes in Central
302618816 also did not say about the time and the date
So I think this Spoilers maybe worng
because wear a clothes with The Amazing Race does not mean they are playing TARA= =
So this maybe not a Spoilers :duno:

And about the Macau Leg
hk34wong said that he saw the teams in Macau Tower in 5/30
He/She said he saw 3 Teams in Macau Tower
and he /she have said HELLO with the camera
hk34wong said he/she has took some photo
But he/she still haven't give me the photo yet (:;)

If you want to know more information
Please go to
http://www30.discuss.com.hk/viewthread.php?tid=7711161&extra=page%3D2

So my Spoilers End Bye :waves:

Thank you Anthony!  :gj:

Lamma Island sounds quite possible--perhaps you could ask scottott what day and time his brother saw them and also for a description of what the team looked like?

And of course we would love to see a Macau picture if that person wants to share?

And I agree that the clothing is not a spoiler...

We appreciate your keeping an eye out for us!  :ty4posting

Some new team updates:

I sent our Chiang Mai blogger who saw the teams at the airport there all of the new cast photos.

She previously had given us this description:

Quote
The adventures started at the airport in Chiang Mai when three sets of couples ran past us, each trailed by a camera guy and an audio guy. We are pretty sure that they were part of the show The Amazing Race but when we asked them all one guy could say was "I don't know what you're talking about." Yeah, right.

After seeing the photos she had  this to say:

Quote
I am nearly positive that the teams we saw were the Geoff and Tisha (the "i don't know what you're talking about" guy) & A.D. and Fuzzie (the black backpacks...see above). The two guys don't immediately fit any of the couples in these pics. I really thought one of them was caucasian. Maybe Niroo and Kapil??

I'm hoping she will be able to ask her friends as well.

I also sent Shirley, our Hue blogger the same photos.

She previously had said:

Quote
The first pair I saw, I vaguely remember a bald/clean-shaven Caucasian man. I can't remember his companion.
She was not able to confirm Geoff or any of the other males as the bald Caucasian due to distance...

re The team that asked you for water:
Quote
The second pair I saw was 2 ladies. One of them has curly short hair.
And:  possibly the 2nd team of 2 women carrying their backpacks, had an Asian. I remember the lady asking me for water is quite big-sized, I am not quite sure of her companion right now. The one in the yellow box could be the 2nd team I saw.
Yellow box photo was AD, and she now confirms AD/Fuzzie as this team! :hearts:

Quote
the third team or rather the team I saw with the slip and riding the cyclo was made up of two women

I sent her pics of both female teams but she was unable to confirm either as the team she saw, again due to distance.

And of course, thanks to JonLover's team, we already knew that the 4th team that she saw w/ photo evidence was Oliver and Mai.

I'm loving knowing that AD/Fuzzy have at least made it this far! :jumpy:

A little push up/spoiler from the producer:

  5 hours ago, Michael_McKay says:     (http://amazing-race-asia.axn-asia.com/about/producer/)

It's getting closer to the start of the Race now so what can fans expect?

Well, as the Network has already said, it's going to be a tough Race. The toughest Asian Race, sure, but as tough as any US Race too I'd say.

The first few legs in particular are punishing and we've thrown in a few surprises for the viewers. Take nothing for granted ;)

How tough will it be? Right from the very first challenge. And the second is a biggie. As soon as you see it you'll know what I mean.

And don't worry, the second episode is no push over. I've never seen so many bruises in a Race let alone a single leg.

One of the big factors in this series is the heat and humidity. It's there all the time. Sometimes it's hard for that to come across on TV but believe me, it gets to the teams when there is no let up.

The way the route is set up for this series I would best describe as "relentless". We wanted the teams to be always on the go, to be always challenged.

And I thank all of the viewers who have given me their feedback over the past two seasons on what type of challenges you like. I'm not sure the Racers will thank you for it but I have included much of that feedback in developing the third series. Enjoy!

Looking at the videos from Jonnal...

They're showing quite an awful lot of Bangkok...

Now let's find this! (Beijing isn't crazy about palms from what I know...)

And Boingo's in the house!!  :jumpy: :jumpy: :hearts: :jumpy: :jumpy:

Okay guys, thanks to puddin's lovely screencaps I thonk we have a chance of finding some of these!

We have been postulating first leg is Beijing>> Bangkok. Khao San Rd for the Bangkok portion is well documented.

So what we really need to know is where that sequester hotel is. (The picture that Neobie has above looks promising with that tower.

I agree that if we can show the hotel to be in Bangkok, it is highly unlikely that they would take teams to Beijing and then run them right back to Bangkok. So finding out whether that hotel is Bangkok or Beijing will be huge!!

I still think our Beijing airport and Allen Wu sightings give us hope,  though are not conclusive of course...

When did sequester hotels start being in the same city as actual race legs? In my experience with the U.S. Amazing Race they are never anywhere near where the Race has been or is headed. They are secluded places as far off the beaten trakc as possible. I must admit to not knowing where any Amazing Race Asia sequester hotels have been, but I would guess that the same prinicples apply.

Sorry...not the real "sequester" house as in for eliminated racers.

What we are talking here is looking for the hotel where these media shots were done--as in the "just before the race starts" hotel where the racers would have been ...

ronn_franco is here!! Yippee!! :jumpy: :jumpy:  Thanks SO much for joining in! :waves:

I am not sure ronn---We have always known that Bangkok was part of the first leg.

Based on the other info we have on Beijing, I still think that the starting line could be Beijing with teams moving on to Bangkok for the first pitstop.

BUT--I still don't know where that hotel is that we see in the background for the media picks yet--I'm hoping the detectives can find it. IF that hotel is in Bangkok, and NOT in Beijing--then I would say yes , it is certainly possible that the start line may have been in Bangkok as well, and not in Beijing after all.

So we sure need that hotel found! Do you know anyone in Bangkok who might recognize it?? The one in Neobies pics with the tower and the red roof is what I am looking for....

Thank you puddin for the caps!  :hearts:

Here is a bigger starting line pic....so we have a plaza/birds/ and that partial view of a wall...

And does that starting line lead to this street with the diamond pattern? ???  Or is that a different time?

Because with the tower in the background there, and also seen in the prerace interviews, then we have to assume that the race interviews are in the start line city...which ever that may be. Racers are apparently wearing the same clothes that they later turn up in Bangkok in (Bug eating) so Bangkok may well be more likely than Beijing.
