I love the scavenger hunt thing...I have been wondering why out of all the fab places in Moscow they would choose a rather obscure museum? Maybe this explains it...
So we need more Metro info and more bus info...which would be the better choice? I

A good old scvenger hunt around Moscow sounds like a great idea!
So I did some mapping out on google to get the answer on which is faster: bus or subway? I used Pushkin Square as a starting point. By bus, it would take around 54 minutes to get to the All-Russia Exhibition Centre. There are many bus stops along the way, with buses comming every 30 minutes. By subway, it takes 28 minutes. There is only one stop in between, which requires the racers to take another subway. The first trip takes 3 minutes, with a transfer taking only 2 minutes. The 2nd trip takes 10 minutes. Subways run every 2 minutes. The only real problem with taking the subway is that it doesn't drop you off right infront of the pitstop. it takes another 10 minutes to walk.

Time to recycle a pix from the spoiler thread. As shown, the monorail (4.2 km) runs between 2 metro stations. (I also read somewhere that the two end stations on the monorail line are not physically connected to the nearby metro stations. You have to physically exit the metro station and walk over to the monorail station).(Per Robyn's spoilers) my guess is they get on the monorail at the Timiryazevskaya station on the way to the station near the Exposition Center. The VDNKh station is so close to the station entrance of the Exposition Center that they probably don't come from that direction. Sooooo.... racers somehow end up at the Timiryazevskaya (metro) station, but from where. All the spoiled locations are within walking distance of a metro station. Good luck. Just guesssing but the challenge with the subway would be reading the signs in cyrillic.

Most old-timey rail museums have working steam locos. Check out the station using Google Earth and you will see the layout. The railway museum is at Rizskiy railway terminal. ETA: BTW, all this was previously shown in the "spoiler" thread. :sucks

Until more info comes in, it may be a waste of time looking for a particular cobblestone street. Our blogger friend saw the bikes at Plaza Abaroa in the Sopocachi neighborhood, and as this blog implies, cobblestone is everywhere: I walked up and down the cobblestone streets of Sopacachi... Street map here; in fact, many good South American maps at the source page.

I am traveling overseas and have unexpected access to a PC. I have been reading the threads of the past 3 days and have a few comments:
1. In Moscow to get around quickly thte metro is the only effective choice. Buses are slowed down by the core traffic that is causing the congestion problems.
2. The discussion on 5 continents gets a definitive answer form me and it is the same ont Peach gave. Oceania is now the releveant continent and New Zealand is part of it. I believe tha rules out Africa from AR13 since teams will ahve to finish in Portland (North America).

Philiminator @ Sucks has posted this: I was in Moscow Russia for a week from 7th of May until 14th. I was informed that a male & female with a camera-crew were nearby. Immediately knew it could be The Amazing Race. I waited around for just 5 minutes, to then witness another possible Amazing Race team, he was being followed by a camera-crew, he was in a blue shirt, looking for something in the 1 mile long hedge, he looked extremely tired and very sweaty. He left after about 5 minutes, after waiting around for 20 minutes I went back to the apartment, I later listened in on a conversation in a resteraunt, there was apparently another male looking in the same hedge, he could have been with another male. There were also rumors that there were a 4th team possibly both being female, but with no evidence I cant really say. His pics: What do y'all think? Real? or not? Fake, told you, good thing we have peachytits on board to call out Philiminator aka twoscoops

Well, I agree that it's a decoy leg, but I don't really see how this twoscoops guy really helped. His post seemed more intended to insult peach! at the Bullshit button
