Lets try to clarify "the first of three teams" , take from it what you will! Robyn and her group witnessed 3 teams and we don't know if there was a 4th team, remember nothing is 100% certain! Robyn and her group were at the Centre for hours and, to me anyway, their is room to debate about a possible 4th team which is likely if TAR is following the TAR12 format.

*i can't describe the 2nd team. we saw them at a difference. ( distance)

*but as we were leaving, maybe 4 or 5 hrs after the first went through, we bumped into a 3rd as they got off the monorail.
 

So if the third team was 4-5 hours behind the first, and was only seen as Robyn and friends were leaving, there is nothing definite to say whether or not there could have been a fourth team even further behind. The only definitive way to know that it was the last team, would be if production had been seen packing up and leaving the Exhibition Centre afterwards. But they weren't, so all we know for sure from Robyn's eyewitness account is that there were at least 3 teams left, and given our belief that this is the last leg before the final, there could only be a maximum of one other team that Robyn (possibly) missed seeing.

Nice article!!! You guys really are awesome detectives, I'm sure you're going to get more coverage yourself when TAR13 actually airs!    
So Peach wants to work for TAR, eh??  They really should hire all you guys, if nothing else to swear you to secrecy. But who'd write our spoilers anymore??     This is what sustains us (well me anyways) through the long dry spell between shows!! I wonder how they really feel about the spoilers- have you ever heard from them?

Should we be looking for TAR 14 to start sometime soon? From the eligibility requirements form for TAR 14:

"If selected as a participant, you and your teammate must be willing to travel to numerous locations around the world lasting approximately 30 to 40 days starting sometime in or around mid-August – mid- October 2008."

BTW - thanks for everyones work tracking TAR 13 - it was my first time here and it was almost as fun as the race itself!

   Finally found this one..... Matt is standing in the Praca Municipal do Salvador near the Palacio Rio Branco and the Elevador Lacerda (to his right).  That's the Banco Bradesco branch to his left.

Found location of Matt's Escadaria do Paço sign pix.  No surprise, they were taken just a stones throw from Igreja Do Santissimo Sacramento Do Passo (church with stairs and drummers) in Pelourinho area.

We'll we don't know what team lost their credentials/ critical mistake but thanks to eyewitness's in Portland Oregon, complied here we can guess what teams were seen in Portland whether they be decoys or not?

Remember Stacy? When the cast was released I asked and she replied "pretty sure it was marisa/brook and terence/sara"

I was waiting to pick my boyfriend up at International arrivals around Noon today.  saw a young couple, very fit and attractive and then 2 sisters (they looked related) also young and wearing matching nike workout gear- they definitely stood out, then when a camera crew w/ tons of gear started filming them running thru the terminal, well that's when it clicked! the A.R!! i love the show and had NO idea they might be in PDX. so, my boyfriend saw them in customs and he thought they had come from Moscow before PDX.
Cool! can't wait to see it on TV.

i don't recognize the teams i saw from any of those pics- the couple (i am assuming that by the way- could be bro/ sis) she had dark hair, he had dark blond hair.  very fit and looked like the had just climbed a mtn.

I saw TAR teams today as well at PDX.  I drive the international buses at PDX but not today.  However, I was driving the terminal parking lot  buses today and saw a camera man /sound man  running after a very tan blond woman in a florescent green sporty outfit, backpack  and one of those TAR  clue cards (?)  in her hand just about the time  the Germany  flight  would have landed. They were getting a taxi here at PDX.  I had to keep  my  eyes on my driving  but a person in the bus said they were from The Amazing Race.

My  next  loop  around (20 minutes later), I arrived  at the terminal  and  saw  more teams grabbing a taxi.  Fortunately  I was driving the Employee lot bus  and one of the supervisors  (who  got  on  camera & had to sign a TAR release  for TV)   confirmed that the teams  in fact were from TAR and got off the Lufthansa  flight from Germany to Portland OR.    They were headed  up to Washington state. He also said there were only  4 teams and perhaps  the other two teams  went up via  Seattle first -  but that of course is purely  speculation.

Okay guys, I AM able to share some more info w/ you!

With many thanks to our incredible  Portland photographer who has been hard at work on our behalf!!

I'm pleased to report that I saw a male-male team in downtown Portland 
this evening (peach: that would be 5/14) at about 6:00 local time. A cameraman and a sound man 
were following them.

I saw them head west along Alder, then south on 10th, then east on 
Morrison. They asked for directions at the food carts that occupy the 
parking lot north of Alder, and they looked at a metal map kiosk at 
the corner of 10th and Morrison.

They looked to be mid to late 20s or even maybe early 30s. Both were 
wearing khaki trousers; the taller one was slightly heavyset and had 
reddish curly hair and was wearing a baseball cap and a blue T-shirt. 
The other had blonde to sandy blonde hair and no hat. Both had 
backpacks.
What struck me, though, was how slowly they were moving compared to my 
expections. They certainly were not running. I don't know if this 
means they are a decoy, or that they are real but exhausted, or that 
they are real and in last place, or what.

I often buy magazines at a store on 9th & Alder, so I asked the 
cashier there if I knew anything about TAR in Portland. He said, "Oh, 
is that what that was?" I said, "Is that what WHAT was?" He said he 
had seen a male  and a female plus two-man crew also proceeding along 
Alder. I asked him when that was. He said about two hours previously, 
which puts it at around 4:00 p.m. I asked him if he recalled any other 
details; he said he did not, except that the girl was pretty. :-/

I did not have a camera with me, but where they were is VERY central 
location; and while Portland is considerably less densely occupied 
than, say, LA or even Denver, I will be very surprised if no one here 
managed to take a reasonable picture of at least one of the teams.

I asked our source if these guys could maybe be who he saw?




And so sadly, since we don't even know their names yet (that seems so wrong somehow!), he replied:

Oooh! Yes, I do think so! Their relative heights and hair colors match!

And I've been meaning to post this, remember Robyn, our writer that witnessed Nick and Starr at the Moscow pitstop?
This is why I'm pretty sure Tina and Ken final 4, theres always that chance there was a team behind them and they are final 3 but.. reading above, if it was Tina and Ken that Julz saw " very tan blond woman in a florescent green sporty outfit, backpack  and one of those TAR  clue cards (?)  in her hand", they very well could be decoys but, nothing could be 100% certain so take it for what its worth.
Remember, Robyn did not "man" the pitstop the whole time, she and her group were sight seeing.

they also had a huge amazing race party that night at a hall at the back of the exhibition centre. it was all very secretive.
 
also, did you know once the contestants come through they sit at the side? i always envisioned them giong off to a hotel, but no they sat in a waiting area until at the one of the other teams came thorugh.

Where do you read pants Michael? And fwiw, Tina was wearing pretty bright pink top EP1 and I know of no other bleached blond paired with a male, lol. I can't find it but somewhere Robyn states that the blonds make-up was a mess and now we know, thanks to interviews, that Tina had a fever during the race so?
