Ah see I knew it sounded familiar ..this was in early on and I think apskips noted it as well.
Now Darren for sure was in Cambodia so says Betsy but well I dunno

Why would they go to Argentina when they are heading north from Sao Paulo to Salvador de Bahia?

Cou ld be they head next to Fortaleza and then catch a TACV flight on Saturday to the Cape Verde Islandsl.  Just to keep the teams headed toward new locations.

Oh look!   Matt really did visit a fort....   but, is it the Forte São Marcelo

hmmm..... I think you can see the only cannon in the GE picture below, along with the curving ramp.

One chainsaw does not a forest cut. For 10 teams in leg 2 you need 10 chainsaws. The stacking and wait for the last team would be fairly severe if you didn't have enough. I am not saying they did not go to the Amazon, but it should be noted that Manaus is quite hard to get in and out of by air. Belem is more of a port city than representative of the Amazon forests and jungle.

Chainsaws are also useful for potential team tasks that do not involve forest cutting. However, it is most likely that the chainsaw was used by production for some unknown purpose.

Neobie, Fortaleza has always made good sense but we needed some evidence that AR13 was there. I believe that the WRP staff guy returning from Fortaleza is a good enough reason. I am going to try it out my next edition of the Timeline.

In conjunction with Praça da Sé I found our Bahiana

And this location is also known for the Cruz Caída

Leg Two might be in our hands, guys...

Following the whiteboard for the 24th, JJ 8006 for Paolo Olivier comes in from Fortaleza. (That gives the 5.45pm timing.) Now with the "BC" mystery solved by Chateau, we know "Bas Pot" leaves Salvador on JJ 8003. That flies from Buenos Aires, to Sao Paulo, to Salvador, to Fortaleza.

In other news, JJ 3179 for Giselle and JJ 3173 for Erin go back to Sao Paulo. TAP 156 for Darren Bunkley goes to Lisbon. (Lisbon? Portugal? Sequesterville?)

What do you guys make of this?

I dunno, I was working this too and I could not get past the way nobody else is going there.  So many other production staffers are going to Sao Paulo and from there to several possibilities.  I'm sure Apskip can come up with a list of 47 destinations out of Sao Paulo.  Unfortunately, they left out the time of Bas Pot's flight.  So we don't know if it was Bas Pot arriving from Sao Paulo on TAM 8003 at 8:30 am or Bas Pot leaving to Fortaleza  on TAM 8003 at 11:30 am.

What if BAS POT was an acronym or codeword for something along the lines of "everyone"? I've looked through the lists of staff throughout the seasons, pages of different languages in Google, and, frankly, Bas Pot doesn't really sound like a name to me...

If "Bas Pot" was headed to the airport from 19BC, that probably means he/she is leaving from Salvador, is that right?

Excellent work Slowhatch!

I can't tell you how hard I looked for a person named Bas Pot involved in the TV biz.

Maybe he has to return the chainsaw.

90% per cent agreeance with you on that.  The minor 10% comes from the weak interpretation that "Direct to airport from 19BC" may refer to how Bas Pot gets picked up.

But, I know, it likely is Bas Pot going to Fortaleza.

On the other hand(s), why isn't anybody else going there?

Drummers seem to be a common sight in the Pelourhino neghborhood of Salvador.  These seem to be younger and sans "red drums".

All of you detectives have done an Amazing job! Excellent work by you all!

And after the bare bones race of TAR 12, I'm kind of glad to see that production has a few $$ to spend again! Sigh, my dream job!

Note to WRP:

Regarding the above thinly veiled hint, I have never met a person more capable at handling multiple tasks and complicated information.  And I have met her.  Her people handling skills are especially valuable.  Y'all would be well served to make an inquiry of her.

Here is another capture of a TAR Pit Stop board. It is from the first leg of Season 12.  Some people may think that the board only gives the country that the Pit Stop is in.  However, if you are observant and look closely at those occasions when it is view, you will see that they also give the city or town or general local within the country.  LMcbW.

It clearly displays both the city and the country of the location of the Pit Stop.

If there is any doubt for the vision impaired, this example says CLIFDEN in white letters over IRELAND in larger yellow letters.  That Pit Stop was located near the town of Clifden, Ireland.

And if you look at the previous example that I put up you can even see the name of the town in that one too.

First person to get it right wins a sucker.

No, please leave the spoilers right here, cuz that's what they are! And when we finally get vidcaps we'll be ready!

But oh yes, I still feel badly for Matt...but he isn't the first Producer to inadvertently help us...and besides, there is NO such thing as BAD publicity, right? It just makes us even more excited for the next airing!

And I know! Slowhatch wins!  I thought it must be a Cambodian village!
