 Well, I'm shocked to say that I apparently have a spoiler and about a show I don't follow at all--Asian AR....

A person who used to work in my office just e-mailed me from Budapest where she's visiting relatives. She used to endure the weekly discussions of the Amazing Race with a smile that indicated we were totally demented.

  Lori & Bolo, struggling with traffic and a lost taxi driver, finally arrived at the Buda Castle. The pair descended into the dark labyrinth, running through the stone corridors until they reached an area lit by candles, where a shadowy figure in a hooded robe handed them their goblets of pig blood. Without flinching, the hearty duo tipped back the goblets to earn the Fast Forward pass instructing them to travel to the next Pit Stop at Halaszbastya, also called Fisherman's Bastion, a monument to the fisherman who fought the Turks in the Middle Ages.

And may I say one of the best episodes evah!

it was one of the best episodes, especally the title "one of you im going to break in half"  freddy eating his own vomit, lori biting phil when checking in at the pitstop, and aaron saying hes the michael jordan of water polo.

and yes i do have a wonderful memory.

It is hard to say exacty where episode 11 is. It might be Budapest or it could bee somehwere in Romania such as Transylvania or Bucharest.

Compare Yves' shot below with this photo of the Elisabeth bridge in Budapest; note the pointy building in the background. It shouldn't take long to figure where the pitstop/greeter was.

I had no idea there were discussions on TARA 2 here until now.     I've been downloading and watching it on my own.  My only outlet to discuss it is with emails with Izad.   

I'm hoping for a Adrian/Colin win.   I can't stand Marc/Rovi.  Their constant #1 spots have grated on me.  I have also been frustated with all the NEL's in this season.  It seems like we have had tons though there have probably only been 3 or so.   I also like the Mums and the sisters. 

Also my copies of the show don't have promos for the next episode so I was excited to see that you guys have the promos!  I have been going week by week without the promos for the following week!

   My beef with them is that they talk to the camera too much.  The camera is there to film them. They should not address the camera unless in some sort of confessional.   Other teams this season have done (terri and Henry did in in episode 1 I believe) but Marc/Rovi do it WAY too much.  For me it takes away from the race.   The one time one of them addressed the camera that had me upset was an early episode where they were in the taxi and one of them looked at the camera and said, "This is Amazing Race Asia baby!"  (or something to that affect)    That was when they went from okay guys to just plain annoying mactors for me. It's been downhill ever since.   They are good racers, I will give them that but they need to stop playing to the camera.   I sincerely hope they don't win.

Today I opened episode #10 to see if it copied properly (someone said the copy I got might have sound problems so I wanted to check).

ANd WTF do I see, To asses hamming it up for the camera hiding behind MF ing plants.

While many people hate alpha male teams, I generally like them (sorry David & Jeff, you clueless fools), but this. WTF.

I don't mind that that a single team has done so well.  But I absolutely hate this show boating, camera whore buffon behavior.

Hell I remember people getting upset at Jeremy diving on to the Mat.

Please God, tell me they aren't like this all the time (let alone in other episodes).

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but a friend of mine shared this with me.  Apparently Natasha (of Paula and Natasha) has been posting at some boards and she posted this on facebook or on the AXN boards when someone asked here about coming in last during Episode 10: 

"so what happened....?

a few production bits n pieces mixed it all up a bit. we did land on that pit stop 3rd actually, but had to wait 2 hours to check in, as we were released early.

...no problem though, it is a TV show and has made for real entertainment value!

my leg is fine now thanks! had a torn ligament on my foot since korea, which kept getting worse cos we had to keep racing - it's all part of the adventure though!

I thought you guys might find it interesting.  It sounds like they were allowed to leave the pistart 2 hours early and when they arrived at the pitstop  they were given the 2 hour penalty to compensate.

Cool Ken I didn't know you did Asia as well.  I would love to read them when I start watching.  Which I might start this week or next at the latest.

As to the guys, I have no problem with people having fun and enjoying themselves on the race (usually some of my favorite moments), but mugging for the camera I always hate.

For example The clowns.  Most love some hate.  I love.  I never felt they mugged for the "Camera"  For the locals and for the ticket agents and to relieve stress when they screwed up a flight, absolutely.  But not for the camera.

WHen Oswald & Danny chased Phil around the Pit Stop, was that for the "camera" or for them to have fun?  Did they go shopping in Hong Kong to look cool on camera or to relax and chill?  I felt none of that was for the camera.

BJ & Tyler are the one team, that I think pushed past my personal belief, and was into mugging for the camera.  But I still found some of their behavior very funny.  But if I heard TTOW one more time, I was going to take a rifle and go postal.

As for M/R, I just wanted to post my opinions about them.

I like them. I don't get why people hate a team for just trying to enjoy the race. How can we be totally sure they are mugging the camera? Some of us just act that way, we try to enjoy as much as possible. Surely, there are some moments when the team just did it for the sake of camera mugging, but they never went to the extent of hugging the camera and sleeping with it, and even if they did, alot of those moments were quite funny. Sure, there are some annoying moments, but I'd rather some team that shows some color than someone as robotic as A/C or A/D, though A/C is excuseable since one of them is partially muted so you can expect them to be quite a silent team.

As for TARasia's calling of those names, I can sympathasize the fans. It's very childish to insult them with very vulgar words (I say vulgar words but not to the extent as to insult a person), but that is just my opinion and I'd rather have something more comical and non-vulgar, but I'm not the person to on a rally for such names, but then again, I understand those who do. I certainly wouldn't want to be called ichihara_f-cko or any vulgar names.

Dont believe everything you read.  I do believe someone or some people are pretending to be racers and posting fabricated stories.
Paula and Natasha had plenty of time to make the same train as everyone else.
Marc/Rovilson left Pitstop at 11.44pm....Paula/Natasha were approx 5 hours behind (due to waiting at intersection for Henry/Terri to arrive) and therefore left at 5.05am.  The train station was only a couple of kilometres away, therefore they caught up and departed Prague at 7.30am on the same train that everyone else was on (except of course Adrian/Colin, who caught an earlier train).

If it proves to be true that Marc/Rovilson and Pamela/Vanessa and Ann/Diane and Paula/Natasha, all of whom had plenty ot time to make the 500am train from Prague to Budapest, did not do so, I ask WHY? The only asnwer I can come up with is that the train station window may have closed at 0030 when the prior train departed and Adrian/Collin were there then and unable to make that train but able to ticket the 0500 train before the window closed, not reopening until well after 0500.

Since this thread is the hottest one right now for TAR ASIA, let me draw your attention to the achievement of one of our colleagues, TAR Asia Fan. Ken has within the past week or two reached the milestone of 1000 posts. I have been a bit preoccupied with the death of a close relative or I would have noticed and brought it to the attention of appropriate RFF members (that means YOU reading this) sooner. In addition to his posts, Ken has added value with his recaps, which are always biting and incisive. They tell it like it is(in the grand Howard Cosell style) and leave you in doubt about which teams Ken likes and which he doesn't. For those who haven't seen them, Ken also does recaps of regular Amazing Races that are worth reading.

Anyway, congratulations Ken on reaching 1000 posts at RFF!

Thanks, but I boo-booed  ; it was the Elisabeth bridge (just finished watching). In this photo you can see the bridge, the Freedom monument on Gellert hill and the little princess all in the same shot. (Did they have to return and start over after each bad guess? I was wondering why they just didn't keep guessing 2370-2380, etc.)

Well it was close enough Slowhatch & I was wondering about the counting thing too, like take a lucky guess  No matter I guess this ends the spoilers, Thailand isn't exactly solid  ? No previews for next week and no location spoilers , go figure.

puddin, it's hard to disguise Thailand. I suspect that thte reason for no spoilers or preview was that they would give it away. ARA2 producers want there to be suspense. The reason I am going with the Bangkok area for the location of the rest of ARA2 is a tiny spoiler you received many months ago. It has never been covered by any AR12 or ARA2 episode. Also, Bangkok is a logical place as it appears to be a hotbed of contestants and fans of the Amazing Race Asia. Thirdly, as those of us lucky to have been there know first-hand, it's a gorgeous place that will photograph well.

  Adrian and Collin beat Marc and Rovilson at the Fast Forward!! Highlight of the episode for me. I really miss having real people on this show.  I didn't really fully watch Season 1 now I wish I had. Calling Mr. Michael MicKay! Are you listening to us?
