Are you kidding me? The Mole is back? Why not bring back Temptation Island while we're at it.  :ascared :ascared :ascared

The celebrity ones sucked but the first two were wonderful----for smart and savvy intelligent people like all of us!
I'm with you, peach!  Most celebrity editions of any show doesn't cut it with me.  Esp for the Mole. I watched a few Mole celeb episodes, but they seemed so fake.  I loved the mole's real down to earth folks...just plain smart, savvy, intelligent, perceptive peeps! Yeah.  Bring The Mole awwwwnn!  :wohoo:  :jumpy:

Rob, maybe they can get Kathy Griffen to host? Wouldn't that be cool?

  How about Corbin Bersen?

Either of these two would be great hosts. Both love and understand the game and apparently neither is doing anything useful. The Mole is by far the most intelligent and engrossing reality show ever. I cannot wait to see it again. Having it set in Europe made challenges more difficult and it was great to see some of the foreign sites and customs.

Will there be a contest here of some type to guess who the mole is?

This was one of the best shows ever.  (Not the celeb versions, though.)

For anyone who wants a Mole fix, download the Australian version.  It's really good.  There were at least three seasons.

I just watched this from Netflix. Were there any other seasons available on DVD besides the original and celebrity season?

Only Mole 1 and Celebrity Mole Hawaii made it to DVD.  I have a feeling I know why Mole 2 never made it to DVD (hint: Burning Bags in the first episode).  You can still download the other non-DVD seasons through Bit-torrent or mIRC, I believe.

You need to inform me about burning bags. I never saw that season.

Burning bags was a complete uproar in the media after the episode aired.  Here's what the game was about: In the first episode, the last game they played involved everyone's bags (including clothing and personal belongings from home) being suspended by crane over a large bonfire pit.  The only way to save them was to select four people who felt they knew the entire group the most.  Keep in mind, this was only day 3 or 4 of the game.  The four players had to get at least 2-3 questions right in order to save their bags.  If not, the bags were released into the firepit.  Low and behold, no one got any question correct, and the group watched helplessly as their bags were dropped into the large fire.

The reason why it was taken so badly in the media was because one contestant, Ali, told the confessional that she had her bible in the bags.  The Christian community called for a cancellation of the show because of the fact a bible was burned.  However, if you caught the second episode, viewers found out it was all a fluke and the bags that were burned were just decoys.  In other words, the bible was not burned.

After the fourth episode aired in the spring, ABC decided to put it on hiatus and air the rest of the season (with repeats of the first 4 episodes again) during the summer.  That was the last non-celebrity season to be filmed.

It was very dramatic at the time. IIRC, she cried because it was her family bible--and it was a good while before we were shown that the luggage had NOT been burned. I remember being very shocked!

They lost a lot of viewers from that.  I think that game was the reason they took the safe road to a celebrity edition.  But with it returning to the normal non-celeb format, I think Endemol has learned its lesson.

I can't believe the Mole is coming back.  That may or may not be good news.  I loved the first two seasons, but hated the Celebrity Mole.   That might be because I thought Anderson Cooper was perhaps the best reality show host ever.  Bitchy gay men always make great reality show contestants.  Turns out, bitchy gay men make great reality show hosts too!

I agree about the burning bags though. That was way too mean.  I was watching the show with a friend of mine, and after watching that, he had no desire to watch any more of the "Mole".   I'm a bastard, however, so I enjoyed it.

They should get Coby to host this show.  He loves reality show and would be a good instigator.

Ooh!  I loved both non-celebrity versions of The Mole, and I even liked the two celebrity versions, although I missed Anderson Cooper!  I'd love to get on the show and try to figure out who the Mole is -- or maybe even be the Mole, although I doubt that they'll choose me.  If I can't get on, at least I can watch it and have some fun trying to figure it out from home!

Like everyone else, I loved the mole too... specially the Non-Celeb MOLE..... but I think it's hard to replace Anderson Cooper as he's made the MOLE that much more enjoyable.

Oh, that's awesome. I didn't see this versions yet, because I'm from Holland. But I do have all the shows in English and Dutch language on DVD. Yeah, in Holland they are crazy about The Mole (we just began in the eight season). I've seen all eight from Holland, the second from Belgium and I still have to watch all those Australian, English and American versions. But... It's nice to see you guys are picking it up again too. :js:
