I am going to cautiously say that I have some indirect confirmation of this... In other words, I believe it! Doing my best to get more...

And after checking out nearly every city/airport in the country--what's the one I couldn't confirm? You guessed it--LAX.... LA? Not again ...two blondes wearing hot pink brace yourself posters -- you know who I'm rooting for next season. Not. again. @swimmer: Possibly; Europe is a tough nut to crack (unlike South America or Oceania) - I would say that going west to east, Sweden is a possibility - an aside, I'd love another leg in Stockholm; not so much Ireland (it would be a little too late unless the course is like TAR3 or TAR6). Going east to west, both dates are possible, though day 21 would be a little more likely for a Europe visit. Of course, all of this is based on race history and also assumes that we'll have a regular-length season.* *I'm guessing it's entirely too soon to know if the seasons is going to be abridged like last time, right?

I will venture a hypothesis that this race is going east to west if taking off from Los Angeles again. They could be anywhere in Oceania, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, China, Malaysia or Thailand. They would not go to India east to west.
Fiji to New Zealand would be a good start if they are going East to West. And if the tour lasts an anticipated 30 days, then they could be in Switzerland or France just when I will be there!!

Thanks to Peach's glorious discovery I decided to go down to LAX and check it out. Again. I had spent last Sunday afternoon there (4/20/08) and that was a bust.
But today's trip yields some new information. I found several staffers who had seen filming yesterday. One team was at the northmost main entry of Tom Bradley terminal having an interview. Not rushed.
One team was at the American Airlines terminal being interviewed off in a quiet corner.
One United Employee in the domestic terminal (#6) had heard of TAR filming (she actually said Amazing Race) that happened in the their international terminal (#7).
Two employees at the United International terminal had seen 3 teams arrive and purchase tickets at the far east end of the counters. I asked if they had seen colored flags around any where: "Any little flags stuck on the poles over there? Like red and..." And the guy said "Oh yes, Red and Gold" That's close enough for me! The gal said there was one team that was 'hippie' like with long white hair (she demonstrated with her hands at mid chest level). They were an older couple, as in, male and female. She estimated their ages to be 40's or 50's. She also mentioned the two girls and another team that was just a regular young couple in their 20's.
No employees at either AA (terminal 4) or Delta (terminal 5) had seen any ticket buying by filmed pairs going at their counters.
By the way excellent detective work peachs and Chateau

I was trying to think of where in LA they could possibly have the starting line.......What about the Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes? website: http://www.trumpnationallosangeles.com/It's large, scenic, out of the way.....It has that starting line look.

I'l stick this here~Friday, May 02, 2008 BRUSH WITH GREATNESS It's been a while since I've published a new post under the "Brush with Greatness" series. I think the last time was when I saw Pierce Brosnan downtown. I'm probably wrong on that. Anyways, it's time for a new entry. It turns out that a current resident of St. John's College sent in an application to the CBS series Amazing Race and was accepted as a participant. She's from Alaska and apparently the Amazing Race folk were quite impressed by video entry. The only reason that she did not appear on the show was that neither of her parents wanted to go on the show with her. Unfortunately, she could not find another suitable partner and thus had to bow out. http://www.erwintang.com/2008/05/brush-with-greatness.html

Don't like the sound of this! From Variety: On the reality front, "The Amazing Race" likely will again be held for midseason since it's one of the rare shows that can work in any timeslot. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117984999.html?categoryId=1019&cs=1

It means when a new show fails ala Vivacrapshow they will stick TAR13 in, in other words its not going to be on the fall schedule unless all else fails.
