Ok, is it TARAsian Fan who has the link for sports overruns?  Does CBS even have a late game today?  (though I suppose I could just check the tv guide for that question).
It is me. I just put it in the commentary thread. I'll give it to you here as well.
Just here to visit.

The only mention I could find of "Silvano Poli" is this grisly article which describes the field as 330x50 meters. There's a field called ULM Empoli that's 330x40 (according to GE).

No, it was not Phil who lied. Phil carefully ducked that question when asked. It was Jonathan Littman of CBS who lied about no NELs.

I was quite surprised by the actual transportation modes, as it required teams to be driving long distances at night, never a safe practice. The Split to Ancona ferry on SNAV left Split at 1700, which gave the last two teams ample time to get there and have a leisurely lunch. That ferry arrived Ancona after a 4 hour 40 minute run at 2140. After getting cars and getting directions, it would probably be about 2230 before teams got on the road.

If you want to see it mapped, use http://www.mapquest.com/directions/europe.adp?go=1&do=nw&rmm=1&un=m&cl=EN&qq=hltF3hzNT9vgCYgFpG%252fDI6Zd139xgLqWl5mHnyn%252b%252b8o%253d&ct=EU&rsres=1&1y=IT&1a=&1c=Ancona&1z=&2y=IT&2a=&2c=Empoli&2z=&r=f

The biggest portion is the Austostrada 14 toward Bologna and then the Austostrada 1 toward Florence. A team that could figure out this route and do it according to the estimated time would have arrived by about 2am, which Nathan and Jennifer may have done. Everyone else was 3 or more hours behind that.

Was there any indication of which ferry line was taken? Here is the departure list for the three ferry lines for July 2007. SNAV generally leaves Split at 1700, while Blue Line leaves at 2100.

I wrote it down as I was watching. It was definitely SNAV. See my remark on this above in post #409.

Too bad we never put more thought into "Split!"

I put serious work into flights from Split. I gave cursory consideration to ferries from Split to the Italian mainland. However, the issues of the very long drive at night after arrival stumped me, so I totally discounted ferry as the arrival mode for Italy. I still can't believe that World Race Productions actually did it.

While apskip was on holiday I actually looked into ferries but I was trying to make Florence come before Croatia and so I never pursued it as a transport means for this...can I kick myself any harder? It was right there!!!  All that hard work on making the flights work.. :cmas4

The possible means of transportation lnk in that post gives some ferry info---darn --darn--darn!

Dubrovnik by Sea:

Ferry schedules vary seasonally, and passengers with cars or tight schedules should make enquiries and book ahead, especially in season. Some vessels do not take prior bookings, but require passengers to check in 90 or more minutes before departure. A number of operators offer runs connecting with Dubrovnik, Jadrolinija being the largest local operator.

Jadrolinija Ferry

via Croatian Coast: Rijeka, Split, Stari Grad, Korcula, Dubrovnik, Bari. Large passenger and car ferry.
Dubrovnik-Bari, Italy. Large passenger and car ferry.
Dubrovnik- Kolocep-Lopud-Sipan
Peljesac- Mljet ferry available.
Nova

offers useful seabus runs connecting within Dubrovnik, and the surrounding ports and islands, utilizing smaller, faster vessels than the larger operators: Dubrovnik Old Town; Gruz Harbour; Lapad; the Elefites(Kolocep; Lopud; Sipan); Lokrum Is.; Cavtat; Plat
Alpex

run between Dubrovnik, the Elefites, and the island of Mljet. Fleet includes Nona Ana Catamaran to Mljet.
Krilo

operate between Split, Hvar, and Korcula
Azzurra line

from Italy runs connections taking passengers and cars between Bari and Dubrovnik

These are from our picture source -- and this is why I think Boboli is later as in Pitstop. Our source had a similar picture for Dubrovnik  and the Rumsiskes mill ------
I had the pitstop but some where saying too touristy so changed my mind to Anchiano but we saw Anchiano too so it was cool.
