To start the next leg, Nick & the Don are in last place.  Why did none of the other teams try for the Fast Forward?  Are Nick & the Don far enough behind that the other teams feel they can stay ahead even if Nick & the Don get the FF? (Does Chateau have pitstop arrival times?)  Could we have a new FF rule that only the last place team is eligible?

Bunching? Either flights (unlikely) or hours of operation  (very likely) allow Nick/Don to catch up with the others to get the FF clue. From there, it's a taxi race, which N/D can certainly win. This has happened before - Adam/Rebecca, BJ/Tyler, David/Mary (through some Chotrickery), and especially Lori/Bolo have all gotten the FF while in last (under the new rule; TAR 1-4 had different FF strategy).

I'm not Chateau (I just play one on message boards), but if I had to hazard a time guess, it would probably be:

Ron/Chris - 1:40
Goths - 1:45
Nate/Jen - 1:50
TK/Rachel - 4:00
Nick/Donald - 5:45

Given the speculative F3 (Nate/Jen, Nick/Donald, Bland/Blander) there has to either be some catch up provisions, major screw ups, and/or TBCs within the next few legs.

if this is a standard 12 hour pitstop (who knows with this race)

they'll be released early in the night, so I think that they will all meet at the airport, on page 1 of this thread there are good flights listed.  These leave dubrovnik at 7.30am.  All teams should be able to make them.

I was wondering as to Nick/Don getting the fast forward, if there is self driving/nagivating I think those two will be in front.  They were the first to St Annes Church in Vilnius.

Also I'm pondering whether the fly into Pisa and drive towards florence  :cmas5

Guys how about this one for a tattoo parlour!? It's located at number 17, is run/named after someone called Fabio it and is in Empoli (30 miles southwest of Florence which would make sense for them to drive a bit to there -> pitstop).

:jumpy:  That may be it, down_with_alli!  Got this pix from the web site of the doctors office.  That sure looks like the picture board near the front door.  And that may be the statue in the corner.  Maybe puddin can get a higher def vidcap to confirm.  Good job, alli.   :cmas16

:cmas3  That's the only pix on the doctors web site, puddin.  The picture board is a match.  It appears to be near the front door.  Notice the hinges on the door in the doctors picture.  I suspect it swings open just like the door on the other side.  Compare it to the picture of the racers entering the shop and you can see the doors are symetrical.  They both swing inward.  I think I can make out the outlines of the statue in the vidcap.  Besides, this is the only tattoo artist i've seen that dresses in an apron (something a doctor would do).

Yay Boingo! I was going cross-eyed looking!

May I have the link to that please for MAPS! ?

how to take the train ("There is an hourly parking lot several hundred meters past the Empoli train station. You can buy a ticket for the number of hours you expect to be in Florence. Do not park in the spots opposite the train station because they have a very short maximum time limit. Return train tickets can be purchased for around 10 euros per adult and at a reduced rate for children between the ages of x and y. Look at the posted schedule which lists all trains departing Firenze for various locations around Italy, and locate the ones which go to Pisa-Livorno and which stop in Empoli. The stops are all listed, and Empoli will be the 3rd or 4th stop from Firenze. The departure platform number in the Empoli and Firenze stations are also indicated on the schedule. For example, trains going to Firenze from Empoli leave from platform 1, which will help you find this on the schedule, which is in Italian. Make sure to stamp your ticket as you leave the station and enter the platform area."

:jumpy: I'm excited to see that they're finally exploring the Tuscany area. I spent my birthday there  a couple of years ago and it was soo beautiful. Just a speculation: Its possible that the teams landed in Firenze and had to find the next clue/do some task while in the city. Since most of historic Florence is for pedestrians only, I doubt that they made them drive here. The driving scenes we saw from the preview were definitely way out of old town Florence, and more of the typical small towns that surrounding the city. With regards the Empoli, its basically the main connection point for trains in that region. It branches into three main directions; North East for Firenze, North West for Pisa/La Spezia and the Italian Riviera and South towards Siena and the rest of Tuscany.

Well those are the Florence drummers:
Quote
The marchers are in full renaissance regalia: costumes, plumed hats, carrying flags of Florence (three ostrich plumes arrayed like a fleur-de-lys).

But are they IN Florence??
