  Only because I'm "bored to tears" looking for this dang drum....   (:;)   going out on a limb and saying that "our" mystery drum will probably have a shape similar to the one shown below.  Might even be connected to the Todai-ji Temple in Nara, close to Osaka and Kyoto.    :knuckles:   That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.   :snicker:

Sounds like a good story to me.  I suspect that your picture is one of the prized pieces.  The one that we have in the intro flash looks well drummed upon.  Not a museum piece that would be in the photo record.

If racers get to make their own beat then they would pound on the well worn drums.

Yet_another_drum_with_pointy_things_and_dots.jpg   :cmas50

:cmaslol   well...at least it's descriptive, if nothing else....   :lol3:

OK, let's get serious now....  *crickets*   ...ran "our drum" throuh a photo editor, and I see a few things... two mallets (one on each side), and what looks like a mirror behind (?), but "our drum" is sitting on some sort of blue cloth/material, which suggests it's either not as slim as we thought,  and/or it's not hanging/suspended.   :cmas5     *crickets*          OK, back to our regular programming....  :cmas3

I was looking around this area, I think it was Boingo? and I that were looking at Fort Aguada but never got a match it in either way but still I like this area, Panagi .

From this link:

Caranzalem Miramar (Mandovi estuary)                                                        BACK
A prominent sand dune belt is found backing the Caranzalem Miramar beach. New dunes, presently low in height and capped by vegetation, are in the process of formation along the upper reaches of Miramar Caranzalem beach; it terminates against the wooded hill slopes of Cabo promontory. However, sand dunes are progressively being destroyed. At Campal, due to severe erosion, the primitive beach no longer exists, except for a small portion near Panjim city. Instead, a sea wall, almost 2 km long, has virtually replaced the beach; this concrete / stone wall is placed in the intertidal zone:cmas5 The opposite Nerul (Coco) protected beach does not show any significant dunes.
