October 16, 2009 Sunday's Green Bay Packers game is first for Phil Keoghan, 'Amazing Race' host BY CHARLES DAVIS cedavis@greenbaypressgazette.com The host of the CBS reality game show “The Amazing Race” will see his first NFL game in Green Bay on Sunday as the Packers take on the Detroit Lions. “This is a huge honor,” Phil Keoghan said. “I get to see the best of the best playing on one of the most legendary grounds in sports.” Keoghan gave a speech at the state Society of Human Resource Management conference in Wisconsin Dells and decided to make a weekend of it by taking in a Wisconsin Badgers in Madison and a Packers game in Green Bay. He said he is pulling for the Packers and plans to tailgate with friends. Keoghan is from New Zealand and a huge rugby fan but he said he’s been reading up on the history of the Frozen Tundra and Vince Lombardi. He said he wants to fit in, but doesn’t want to wear a foam cheesehead. “I think I need to be sedated to wear one of those … the longer you wear it the more it stinks like cheese,” he said. Keoghan also plans to sample some of the area’s famous beers while in town. As far as Brett Favre being a member of the Minnesota Vikings, he said it’s a sad commentary. “He just doesn’t look right in purple,” he said. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wanda Sykes ready to mix it up on talk show Preview Thursday, November 05, 2009 By Rob Owen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Roger Erickson/FOXWanda Sykes' new late-night TV talk show will involve panels of people sharing their views, with a few sketches thrown in.PASADENA, Calif. -- For Fox's new "Wanda Sykes Show," the comedian at its center has a simple mandate: "I'm your wrap-up of what happened during the week, but from my point of view." Sykes' show replaces Fox's long-running "Mad TV," but it won't follow that show's rigid sketch format. Instead, Sykes' show (11 p.m. Saturday, WPGH) will be closer to "Real Time with Bill Maher" on HBO with a few sketches thrown in. ... Saturday's premiere will feature a panel that Sykes said won't have the same feel as the one on Maher's show. "It won't be as serious, not as confrontational," she said. "You want to feel like these people are on the show for a reason, that I enjoy them. It's like mingling, but they will be opinionated." Panelists scheduled for the premiere are Mary Lynn Rajskub ("24"), Daryl "Chill" Mitchell ("Brothers") and Phil Keoghan ("The Amazing Race")."I want to get to know Phil," said Sykes, a "Race" fan. "I'm a little bit tired of seeing him standing on that mat greeting people from all around the world. I want to have a drink with him." Yes, alcohol will be served. "The viewers at home will be drinking, so we should all be on the same plane," Sykes said. Read more: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09309/1010904-67.stm#ixzz0W0UWkZPX

I suspect it'll be fairly soon (within 10 days) as the filming could then wrap up before TAR 15's finale airs in 30 days.

Wanda Sykes = 1 show I will never watch again Phil was adorable as always! The debates were spanking or screaming, would you go to mars and then Wanda suggesting Phil use Mars as a pitstop and some sticky stuff Then they showed photos of people and Phil was good at guessing what country they were from with 3 choices. Somehow this one woman's photo came up and Phil guessed she wasn't from Fiji because they look friendly in Fiji so he got some ribbing about that and he thought she might be from China, which was correct but Wanda made a comment about Asians having the worst shaped ass's so again, Phil was getting a ribbing for saying that the woamn did not look friendly and had a bad looking ass so must be from China, Wanda told him to beware his next pitstop in Beijing .

Phil Keoghan Starts With Christchurch I-site Thursday, 19 November, 2009 - 15:59 Phil Keoghan, presenter of TV's The Amazing Race was back in his hometown Christchurch this week to meet staff in the i-SITE Visitor Centre and help launch a new campaign focusing on their local knowledge. The seven-time Emmy Award winner, who was holidaying at home, visited Cathedral Square's i-SITE to get some expert advice first-hand in the South Island's largest and busiest Visitor Centre. Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism chief executive Christine Prince (pictured with Phil) says Phil's visit was inspiring for the team. He spoke about his love of Canterbury and his passion for travel and meeting fascinating people along the way. "Phil reminded us that people are the most important part of any travel experience and the i-SITE Visitor Centre's top asset is its team of expert and enthusiastic people. "The new campaign is aimed at encouraging locals to come in to meet us and find out what we offer. The i-SITE is a fantastic source of inspired ideas. Often it's hard to think of where to go when you have visitors, or simply what to do with a weekend in your own town." With summer holidays around the corner, the Cathedral Square i-SITE is the ideal first-stop for everything there is to know about activities, attractions, events, accommodation and transport here and across New Zealand. "When family and friends come to stay we are urging people to think of our i-SITE as the place to go for planning a great holiday to keep everyone entertained," Christine Prince says. Staff at Christchurch i-SITE can organise everything from how to get a bus to the Port Hills, to booking a full day's excursion or an entire New Zealand tour package via the extensive i-SITE network. "We understand people's expectations and budgets and tailor-make programmes to suit them." One of 87 i-SITEs in the New Zealand Visitor Information Network, the Cathedral Square i-SITE, in the 1870 Old Post Office Building, has recently been restored to its eye-catching heritage colours. http://www.fourcorners.co.nz/new-zealand/tourism-news-detail/index.cfm/articleId/20962/
