Heres your raft pictures Slowhatch! How about that Chateau!!

Here is where I think the raft was.  South of the City Wall Tower.  This location gives the right sun angles to match the above shot for end-of-day sun.

GE Croatia locations zip4 raft

He had everything nailed down: both riggings, the fake wall and the float.

There's also a few pics of the Karaka ship, but I'm not sure if it's connected with the rest.

Chateau--remember Eilan told us that Team GHB's cabbie took them to the wrong location first? They went down to the Old port first before the zipline!!  Is this before or after the zipline??

puddin--depending on the time they could be on their way to the Old Port Cluebox!!

This shot was taken here between 4:25  and 4:36 pm (assumes July 19th)

It's the Dubrovnik Ploce.  The tourista shot is a Panoramio from GE

These shots are before the zip line.  They are a little lost because here they are back tracking to the clue box by the big tree.

(Another interesting shot here (July 13?), but I can't read it.)

What did we ever decide about this?

Crew testing the zip line perhaps?

Also  dated July 13 which can't be right...

There is no quesstion from the photos that the Amazing Race left Ouagadougou the evening of July 14(after arriving the afternoon of the 13th) for Frankfurt. Peach has done a fine job of providing the basic flight information. I have more detail here:

AF735 departs Ouagadougou 1045pm July 14 arrives Paris-CDG 0615 July 15 (Note: Saturday night is one of two weekly departures so all teams had to be on this)

There are 4 possibilities for CDG to FRA and which ones they were allowed to book in OUA will differentiate the positions of the teams:

AF1418 departs 0735 arrives 0900
LH4211 departs 0910 arrives 1025
AF1618 departs 0945 arrives 1110
LH4213 departs 1020 arrives 1155

Something is funny here.  If your times are right, the TAR12 teams travelled a mightly long way from Amsterdam, via Paris to OUA and then only spent a little over 24 hours there.  And a 12-hour pit stop should be included, before another long flight back to CDG and on to FRA.  So much for a grand old time in glorious, heart-warming, magnificant Ouagadougou!!

For the arrivals into Dubrovnik:

It's looking like the first teams arrived from London (Luton Airport) on TOM3443 which left London at 8:45 am and arrived in Dubrovnik at 12:10 pm.  That and an efficient debarking & Taxi for 12 miles would get them to the stone pier at 12:30 pm.

For the GHB team, it looks like they arrived also from London (Gatwick Airport) on BA2882 which left London at 11:55 am and arrived in Dubrovnik at 3:45 pm.  That and a Taxi for 12 miles would get them to the incorrect cluebox by the port at 4:20 pm.

There are a bazillion flights fron Frankfurt to London.  Six flights can be taken with arrivals between 6:40 and 9:00 am.  Obviously they would have to do some intracity transport to get to the right London airport for their flight to Dubrovnik.

Oh crap !

What are the odds?

Well, I'll stick with my London-based arrival flights in Dubrovnik.

Chateau, I am not saying you are wrong. However, please examine the information below and draw your own conclusions:

There are many flights every day from Zagreb into Dubrovnik. they start at 0545 and end at 2120. Any flight arrivals into Zagreb an appropriate connect time ahead of any of those flights will allow a single connection from an originating city to Dubrovnik. The list of cities from which you can fly nonstop to Zagreb is huge:

Major European Capitals/Cities
Amsterdam
Budapest
Cologne
Frankfurt
Istanbul
London Heathrow
Milan Malpensa
Moscow
Munich
Paris - CDG
Prague
Rome - Fumicino
Vienna
Zurich

Cities of Forner Yugoslavia
Belgrade
Split
Sarajevo
Pula
Ljubljana
Skopje

Other Cities
Nuremburg
Bergamo
Altenrheim
Zana
Tirana
Varazdin

There is no need for teams to fly nonstop to Dubrovnik. If so, the above indicates a wealth of places they could originate from.

Camera clocks may be off by a day or two (check the time of day on this photo  ), but I'll just take everything at face value: in other words, the rigging was up a few days before the race and maybe a few days after.

peach for what its worth, taken from the Slowhatch book of school  --this ladies pictures show the zip set up on the 16th.
You can see
what a hard job it is setting this up--lol at the guy taking a break.

I'll guess this cutie is the same guy from Eilan's pictures~

beat me to it peach  ! did you see theres a video of crew too?

I certainly have missed something, and I am too lazy to go back through all of these marvelous posts to learn where these photos orginated from.  They must be the best shots we have ever had of teams actually doing tasks during a TAR race. Someone, please make my day.

I agree that incoming flights from Zagreb would be the logical choice, however, the only flights from Zagreb that showed up for yesterday, Friday 10/19/07, were 6:40 am, 3:10 pm, 3:15 pm, and 10:15 pm.  Zracna Luca Dubrovnik Arrivals

None of those would qualify for Team delivery times of 12:30 pm, 4:20 pm, or 6:00 pm.  If you can find any flight arrivals 15 to 45 min prior to those times I'll give you a sucker.

Slowhatch found them Gman  !

I should check Picasa more often. A honeymoon album here (we get some of our best stuff from honeymooners  ) that includes cluebox and "fake wall" shots as well as rigging shots.

(Another interesting shot here (July 13?), but I can't read it.)
An interesting album here, including Green Headrag Guy. There's also a photo of ziplines leading to the boat float. (well maybe not ziplines, but something )

Can you tell me if the picture of the cluebox was taken on the 18th or 19th?
Sweet, just to confirm~

You know, I'm not sure I can. The whole trip was such a blur - and since we traveled from Seattle to Croatia, I'm sure the timestamp on the picture is off. If you think it should the 19th instead of the 18th, you are probably right.

link, again to the cluebox picture thanks to Slowhatch.

CHATEAU, the information in your link for 10/22 is consistent with my Zagreb departures for weekdays. I also have taken a look back to 7/18/2007 and found these scheduled flight arrivals in Dubrovnik from Zagreb:

OU660 815am
OU384 325pm
OU664 905pm
OU668 1040pm
