sorry if its been posted already
For the experienced diver looking for the best Lana`i has to offer. This trip travels all the way to the remote Kaumalapau Harbor. Skin Diver Magazine called Kaumalapau Harbor one of the top 10 unknown dives in
Hawaii. Since these are drift dives we are able to combine two sites in one dive. Monolith is a unique lava pinnacle sitting in deep water, and Menpachi Caves has numerous swim throughs and has multitude of aquatic diversity.

Did someone beat me to this?
Kaumalapau Harbor Virtual tour ( quick time needed)
Some info so I don't have to keep going back and forth.
Kaumalapau Harbor Shipping, Fishing, Not Much Swimming
End of Kaumalapau Hwy
Lana`i, HI 96763
Location: South
Hours of Operation: 24 hrs
Description:
Although it's often included in listings of Lana'i beaches, this place is primarily used for commercial shipping. Because of the shipping traffic, motorized water activities are not permitted, and only a few people choose to swim in the harbor. However, this is a popular place for fishermen, both local and tourist. Unlike chartered sport fishing, shore fishing on the harbor offers an opportunity to relax, let the mind wander, and enjoy the view.
Manele Bay Harbor Busy Public Harbor
Manele Rd
(Southern shore)
Lana`i, HI 96763
Location: South
Hours of Operation: 24 hrs
Description:
Kaumalapau Harbor handles commercial shipping, but Manele Bay Harbor handles all traffic from excursions, charters and yachts. The Expeditions ferries chug into the harbor five times daily, and several fishing and snorkel tour boats go in and out on a regular basis. Shuttles carry people from the harbor to Manele Bay Hotel and Lanai City regularly. The little beach in the bay's left corner is a popular snorkel and diving spot, although there are better places to swim and sunbathe.
Shipwreck Beach Popular Sunbathing Beach
Keomoku Rd
Lana`i, HI 96763
Location: Day Trip
Hours of Operation: 24 hrs
Description:
The same rough waves that gave this beach its name make it a dangerous place to swim. However, the rusting hulks offshore draw plenty of sightseers. One unfortunate Liberty ship ran aground a few hundred feet out and remains there in its entirety. Other bits and pieces of old ships are all around the reefs. This is a good place for walking, beachcombing and exploring. An interesting group of petroglyphs are nearby, and anyone with enough motivation can hike all the way up the coast to Polihua Beach.
Cathedrals - Dive Site Famous Dive Site
(offshore South Lana'i)
Lana`i, HI 96763
Location: Day Trip
Hours of Operation: 24 hrs
Description:
Of all the dive sites off the shores of Lana'i, this may be the most famous. It has a second dive site named after it. It is actually an enormous lava tube (100 feet long and about 20 feet high). The reflection of sunlit blue water in the tube looks remarkably like a stained glass window. The effect has inspired comparisons to a Renaissance-period Catholic church. Inside the tube live dozens of unusual little fish and crustaceans. The waters outside the tube are also busy with the activity of sea-dwelling creatures.

HElmets are used when diving under rocks which fits with caves. It also looks like they might be using a small breathing aparatus and not a snorkel or the larger scuba tanks.

Oh Good Job
Boingo !
Thanks for tracking that down--it has been nagging at me!
Okay:
E/D and BQ's at Harbor--on land looking for what? Cars to go driving? Port related task? Or is this after their detour of cave swimming?(doubt)
C/M at Manele Beach for what? Their Detour of paddle surfing?
But what is the Roadblock?
One of the swimming things we see? .......or the Drive thing? .................or something else?
In reading other tourist activities I keep reading about archery and clay shooting. And then there is the cliff jumping competition....oh yeah--and golf....

Honolulu international. (Duh.
) The C/M cap is probably close; another part of the airport, or maybe a hotel lobby.

peach, I think the "driving" challenge is getting from one location to another in Lanai. Looking at the GE map I posted in Reply #180, there just happens to be major roads (?) between the TAR locations on Lanai. Miss a road, and you have to drive the circumference of the island. Evil, evil BVM.
oh, excuuuuuuse me, puddin.....

You are right
Boingo --interesting thought. (I added my little map upstream too to help us see where we are.)
I've been stuck on the Munro Trail because everyone talks about the drive--but it does take 2-3 hours so maybe that's too long anyway.
The roads everywhere here are reportedly challenging--I read a blog that talked about 2 jeeps getting stuck in the mud trying to get to Shipwreck Beach.
So if driving isn't a true task but just something to make their lives tough--C/M are sunk!
Do we think that the sea/ocean kayak we see the BQ's in is a task for everyone?
What about the red kayak we see Mirna in--different task or not?
And I like your Manele Beach find....
When will we get Phil's preview? He wouldn't desert us this last week would he?

Wait, are we thinking that the RB is the "final task" clue, because the wording makes it seem like it's something both team members have to do - so maybe one of the things we are seeing in Hawaii is the RB?

Oh wow--I hadn't added the final task in SF in with the Hawaii equation--but you might have something there.
How did they work that Flag thing in season 9? was that a real roadblock? I can't remember....
Just checked: Detour in 9 was that drill holes in ice and push shack or deliver medical supplies (unable due to weather)--2 walk via snow tasks to find clues--and the flag task was a Roadblock. summary here
