Well, I can't do any screencaps but after watching with my finger on the pause button: The "log thingy" is bamboo (again!) and it looks to me that C/M and E/D are trying to break the bamboo at a joint. It also looks like there is some plaster there? Since bamboo is segmentally hollow, maybe they have to make a plaster cast--but have no idea why? The drum thingy is being carried by D/O along the waterfront. There is a shot of some sort of native type boat being rowed with the drum (ceremonial?) in the front. But wonder where our garden comes in?? Thank you thank you kogs!

What about the shot of Dustin praying? That could be at the pitstop...if there is one this episode. Did you see the confessional...they are wearing the exact same clothes!

Thanks Slowhatch! Looks like a possibility to me! Poor Mirna takes a nosedive.... And you are right about the clothes Michael. Dustin says "we are going to race like we are in last place--which leads me to think they are not!

Of course they aren't peach...I'm hoping they don't screw E/D over though, because I don't want them to be the villans We are all just assuming that E/D and D/K work together, but it MIGHT be another combo...we'll see! I'm just glad the promo is finall out.

I can read "perfume centre," but I can't make out the first word. The only thing close in the yellow pages is Goodyear perfume centre (an outlet in Macau, another in Tsim sha tsui). Maybe someone can read the ideograms.

Dragon Boat Racing! It started out as a frantic search for an ancient Chinese poet who committed suicide by plunging into a river. About 2,300 years later, dragon boat racing is a full-fledged international sport making its debut as a medal event at the fourth East Asian Games in Macau.
A dragon boat is a narrow vessel similar to a rowing boat, but it's decorated with some Oriental flair. At the East Asian Games, the racing craft are styled with green dragon heads featuring whiskers, golden scales and brown horns, as well as a tail.
The technique is similar to canoeing -- the paddlers plunge their paddles downwards, as opposed to horizontally as in the case of rowing.
Like rowing, speed hinges on uniformity of strokes. But dragon boat racing relies mainly on upper body strength while rowing is driven by the lower body, Taiwan's men's coach Liu Te-chih explained on the sidelines of the first day of competition yesterday.
Explosiveness is key. In Macau, athletes are competing over 250m and 500m courses.
Macau competitor Jose Gonzun, a personal fitness trainer, said the paddling is highly intense. "Suddenly, your heart rate, boom!" said Gonzun, a Pampanga, Philippines native who moved to Macau.
The roots of dragon boat racing are in ancient China. When disillusioned poet Qu Yuan jumped into a river, people raced to the site in boats to search for him. They made loud sounds to scare away fish and dropped rice dumplings into the water to lure them away from Qu's body. Now the Chinese mark the anniversary of Qu's death by racing dragon boats and eating dumplings.
And there's another legacy dating back to the original event, making dragon boat racing one of the only sports with a built-in cheerleader.
Each team includes a drummer, although now the drummer's role is to keep the crew in rhythm, not startle fish.
The sport of dragon boat racing has gone global. The International Dragon Boat Federation, or IDBF, was founded in 1991 and hosts world championships on odd-numbered years and club world championships on even years.
The world championships took place in Berlin, Germany in August and will be next held in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. link

OK Puddin I came out to play!! This is my guess about the yield at this point (this depends on the Roadblock coming before the detour to work). D/O and the BQ's will be the first 2 teams out. The BQ's say "it's like we're bribing them not to yield us" and the voiceover says "will another team accept payment". D/O have been shown to be having money problems. I think when they arrive at the tower they have to pull a number to go up (or in the tower). The yield is inside. The BQ's are waiting their turn to go up while D/O are doing the roadblock and hoping that the "bribe" worked. Of course this would all be no good if the roadblock is last.

You got it, Slowhatch! The taxi and streets are of Hong Kong design, so Kowloon's where it is. 合成香水中心 Go odyear Perfume Centre14B Cameron Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui Which sets the City Chain store in the foreground as Shop D, G/F, 16 Carnarvon Road. Eric/Danielle are heading east along Cameron Road, away from Tsimshatsui MTR station, but also in the opposite direction of the Macau ferry terminal (which is west of the train station). Either that's not where they're trying to go, or they're set to get lost. Ouch. But if the ferry's not the destination, where the heck could they be headed? The science/history museum? There's nothing worthy of TAR in that area...

I agree; the drum (and maybe the pole/mast/etc. thingy as well) is for the dragon boat.

annielhy gave us this before; Hi. Keep in mind, there are TurboJet from Macau to HK Airport. If they are smart, they shouldn't return to Sheung Wan or Tsim Sha Tsui Pier
And this: To Macau 1: HK-Macau Pier, Sheung Wan (15 minutes per TurboJet) Transport: MTR (above MTR exit, 5-10 minutes run from exit, "Sheung Wan" Station)
To Macau 2: China-HK Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui (30 minutes per TurboJet) Transport: MTR (10-15 minutes run from exit A, "Tsim Sha Tsui" Station or "Jordan" Station), Taxi

I have to admit, E/D agreeing to work with D/K will probably be the smartest thing they have done all season...infact...it COULD be what will lead to their very, very possible win LOL

I;m still thinking that that stuff in the blue tub looks like plaster of paris to me--used to make casts. Could they (E/D) be making some kind of a mold or mask using plaster of paris?
And is that also the same place with the bamboo pole? Are they related? The room E/D is in looks nicer than the one C/M are in....
Incidental nice shot of Eric's watch-- 5:30??
