OK I'll start a Romber thread so that all us loyal Romber fans or haters can talk about them without popping into every thread to say why we either love or hate them or why we love to hate them etc ...

The blurb seems to say that Romber gets the knife in the back not once but thrice!. Promo clip seems to show Charla and Mirna catching up the them, then confronting them on the Zodiac dock with "your lies", and finally they get teamed up reluctantly with either Ian and Teri or (perish the thought) with Charla and Mirna at the intersection!

What a fall for Romber! Three straight wins (a record twice over) at the beginning and then falling flat on their kissers in ep 4.

Will they actually show up on TES next Monday (or will they be "too busy" to make the trip to New York?)

Hope they enjoy their stay in sun-drenched, tourist-jammed, hotel-crowded AH KA PUL CO!!

I am so utterly depressed at the thought of losing Romber next week.

After watching the previews for the show, my stomach started churning and I actually felt tears welling up!! My desire for this show will drop considerably without them. Looks like I'll have to start cheering on Eric/Danielle.

I love Rob and maber! i think they are great competitors and they make the show fun to watch. People say they are bad, mena... tit is a game they are playing the game. ANd they are still young enough to have fun and do all these challenges and shows. Mor e Power to them.

I can not believe they get eliminated, has to be a yield and bad directions or something.

I would be okay if they got eliminated if i did nto know that shmirna gets to final 3.... they just seem so ugly. Someone is always against them or the challenge is not fair or the constant whining.

You know, I don't not like Romber, I was just so tired of seeing them.

Having said that, they have done an awesome job so far this season.

Now, I would be totally fine if they go out due to bad luck, or due to a stupid mistake on their own--but I do hope they don't get eliminated due to another team's actions.

One of the things that I like best about TAR is that in general your fate is in your own hands, with a healthy dose of luck thrown in. I have never liked the Yield or last season, the Intersection, because it takes the control away from your own luck/racing abilities and makes it too much like being "voted off the island". (Plus in last season the legs were so poorly designed that if you got behind due to a marked for elimination, you really did not have much of a chance to catch up...)

So I'll be hoping that if Romber goes out spectacularly--that it is due to something THEY did, and not that it is due to something that was DONE to them!

i mean even during the first three episodes, they are not making any scenes whatsoever....

i even felt that the CHA's, mirnashmirna and BQ's are making such......

so, it's just good for them to be eliminated that early...

i really loved them when they started as castaways during australia and marquesas....

and i started to hate them by the time that they are in the all-stars...

blah blah blah....

at least im so happy and so overhwelmed (but sad a bit) to see them go...

Rob and Amber seem way more mature on the race this time around...I mean, in TAR7 there was drama with them right from the get-go. I was such a big fan of them when they were like that...but I don't know...this season they just seem so ...bland...like everything came easy to them...and they get eliminated way to early..They are my second favorite team (way under the BQs though:P) and it will really suck to see them go while a team like Charla and Mirna get to stay!! WTF!

I agree Michael. I actually like them like this though. But I think alot of it has to do with the fact that they are "famous" more now, and they really don't 'need' the money (not that they wouldn't want it but it makes sense) where as all the other teams are hungry for the money. I think anyways.

I am sick of people saying that Romber don't "need" the money! I have never heard anyone say " Oh well we are rich and do not need the million $" ?

I agree! I mean, they completely dominated TAR7, and have so far been dominating TAR11. It has only sunk in now that I used to like them so much and that they are my second favorite team and it will suck to see them go!

I'm hoping for some kind of miraculous false-boot list thing on Sunday night! (and on the f3 order

Very well stated, puddin, and I sooo much agree with ya! I love watching Romber, b/c they act like partners should act. They may not always agree, but they're courteous and respectful to/of each other and display that to the viewers. They are a match made in heaven. Even if they don't go far in the game, I value the chance to see them playing it again.

Hmmm wasn't it you that posted earlier about respecting how people feel. Or about others opinions. Rob and Amber do not care about the $ like the other teams do and thats what I was saying, all the others are racing and it IS a game. Don't get all huffy just because someone doesn't agree with YOU, and YOUR teams. I respect Amber and Rob just as I respect other teams I don't like. But the point is, Rob is a jerk no matter what anybody says. Hes cocky, over confident (which IS a bad thing). Hes not rude but other teams are, yet they all want the same thing TO WIN, and that usually means not helping others. Does that mean he shouldn't win, no but thats what the game is all about. Alot of it is pure luck.

Also I was one of those that did not think that first placers from previous races should be on the all stars. Sure they are all stars but they already won, and they should'nt be there.

You really can not bring who deserves it more into this, because if thats how the game was played, if thats who the winner was then you wouldn't give a damn because you would know that Rob and Amber would not be elimanited and have the million at the end of the race. I agree there, but thats NOT how its played...

I think Rob and Amber were very humble when they lost. And Rob and Amber are cocky and tell the other teams to go the other way. Most of the other players have done the same thing. People just want to have a horrible person. They had a bad detour. It happens t teams... look at the sisters and the hay stack.

Chirna and Mirna constantly say they can not trust someone or share information. And look how nice they were to each other in thei episode THe BQ had sent people the wrong way or not shared infrormation. IT is a game and all of them have with held info and sent people wrong ways. Tey jsut showe dmor of Rob and Amber as they were the villians of the show.

I couldn't agree more. I wish CBS learned from Survivor:AllStars that having an AllStars season is wrong.

I'm not enjoying this AR:AS season at all. None of my favorites are the same. The farther into this season, the worse it's becoming. Didn't they learn from BB?

Rob said they were 10 minutes behind Shmirna (on Regis ). Rob said it was all his fault ..then Rob talked about Shmirna , says Charla is a sweetheart but Mirna plays up being the martyr and is abarsive to watch at times. They said they are talking about starting a family. They played down what they have coming up for a tv show, but on Regis they were excited about it.

I hope the whole letter wasn't like that casuse that was terrible of CBS to allow that letter to be given to them, it should have been a positive experience for everyone. There HAD to be a team from season 7 that could of written a "nice" letter to Rob and Amber. I really did feel horrible for them......kick them while they're already down....

Agreed. And it appeared obvious that Rob was not going to read much more of it on air. The producers erred. They could have contacted several other teams to submit letters and chosen something much better.

Yeah, I heard theres too and, as much as I DON'T like them, CBS could have done a better job of finding uplifting, positive teams/letters for this particular task for all of the teams. It seemed to me that Romber and Schmirna were the only negatvie letters (unless I missed something).

The letter from Patrick & Susan reinforced why I didn't like them when they were on. How childish! (As opposed to kudos to Lyn for using the opportunity to show a better side of her than we saw in TAR10.) I'll have to go back and check, but it seemed like once Rob realized how ugly the letter was, he quit reading it, as if it was worthless, which it was.

Does anyone know anything on Rob and Amber's upcoming project? I got to thinking about it and came up with this idea. It's common knowledge that Jeff Probst wants to quit Survivor to spend more time with his girlfriend, Julie. I haven't heard if he's signed on for any more seasons. Maybe Rob and Amber are in talks to take over the job? I think that would be great! I would love to see them host Survivor. What does everyone think?

Hmm...I'm not sure, I don't see that happening, I think it's going to be something else, but whatever it is Rob seems to think it's something "huge".

This interview makes it seem like a Rob project with Amber in a supporting role.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Rob: I have a new project that I'm starting very soon. Unfortunately, I can't talk about it right now, but I promise it will be the biggest news you've ever heard.
Amber: I'm just supporting him because it's actually something pretty big and it's going to require a two-person support system. I'm sitting back and taking some time off.

Just please lord--not some kind of Rob talk show!!

Rob & Amber Out But Not Down on Reality TV

Though they are closing in on their second year of marriage, Rob
Mariano and Amber Brkich are not, however, closing in on their second
reality-show victory.

Last Sunday, the pair, winners of Survivor: All-Stars, became the
fourth team out of The Amazing Race: All-Stars.

But fear not, Romber fans: The two may be back for a second season of
their FOX Reality show Against the Odds - as well as something else
that could be "be huge," promises Mariano.

During a rare break between TV appearances, Mariano, 31, and Brkich,
28, spoke to PEOPLE about their on-screen fortunes:

You had won three legs of the Race in a row but lost through a series
of mishaps. Yet teams still competed hard with you until the end.

Rob: I couldn't believe it, to tell you the truth. I thought for sure
they would have learned from the first season we did it that just
focusing on us, all it's going to do is distract the teams, but what
can I say? They took the bait again! We were thrilled.

Amber: It's actually a huge compliment.

Rob: No team had ever come in first for the first two legs in a row,
never mind the first three, so we were definitely doing well until we
ran into some bad luck.

Viewers, like your competition, love and hate you equally. Is that the
key to your TV success?

Rob: I think it's great. By no means do we not realize that it's the
fans that watch the shows that allow us to continue to be on TV and
doing these things. There are people who love to root against us, but
whether they love us or hate us, they're watching and we're pulling in
viewers and the networks see that and it makes for dramatic
television, which is what reality TV is all about.

You had your first executive-produced series on FOX Reality.

Rob: It's the first series in which Amber and I came up with the
premise. I got to pursue my dream of playing poker and being tutored
by one of the best in the world.

Amber: Rob would love to be back in Vegas any second. That show was
special because we were actually living our real lives. We weren't
starving on an island and being bitten alive by bugs.

So what's next for you?

Rob: Actually, we have a big project coming up, probably the biggest
project we've ever worked on. It's bigger than Survivor and bigger
than the Amazing Race. I mean, when you hear about this thing, it's
going to be huge and it will blow your mind.

How about kids? Are there any in your future?

Amber: We definitely want a family and we've been talking about it.
... But I think it was also important for us to spend the first couple
of years just the two of us together.
