She brings us all the lovely press releases, posts most all the screen captures, searches for hours and hours to track down and identify the sites, updates and organizes all of the spoiler lists, and in her spare time keeps us all in line as the moderator! Doing all that has (recently) turned her into the "Village Idiot" and is why she "lives at RFF"--so we let her get away with her Romber love! |

Gnarly Marly, you can hardly call San Pedro de Atacama, Puerto Montt, and Punta Arenas the same area. There is 1000 miles between each pair and 2000 between San Pedro de Atacama and Punta Arenas. The only geographically close legs will be Punta Arenas to Ushuaia and that will still require 12 hours by ferry and bus or car to get there since flying is out due to the day of the week. |

I could have forgiven them 5 South American legs if they had managed to get to Antarctica... but even though this next week looks fabulous--I would still have rather had another African or Asian location just for the variety and to shake up the language skills required... But apskip has the geography down  --and the locations within SA have been/will be pretty varied in terms of conditions. |

I'm saying this upcoming episode 3 which is in Southern Chile no? Same with episode 4? and episode 5 is supposed to be in Ushaiua (sp?) Argentina which is still geographically pretty close to where episode 4 should be.

There's an old axiom that goes: Rule #1 the Boss is always right. Rule #2 When the Boss is wrong, consult Rule #1. Puerto Montt is in the southern half of Chile; However, since Chile is over 3000 miles long, it is still 1000 miles from Punta Arenas. Read what I said about the proximity of Punta Arenas and Ushuaia. Despite being about 160 miles apart as the crow flies, there are no crows flying when needed for transportation so I believe teams have to go the long way around the center of Tierra Del Fuego Island. |
