I have a location for the mystery museum ! It looks to me like it is along the Paseo Pratt in Antofagasta, Chile. The best evidence is in the pavement style that shows up in a Panoramio of of GE. Look here to see the dual tile pattern of diamonds and squares. It's the same in the promo. Also, from GE there are large swaths of light and dark colored regions of the pavement. These match the promo too. [attachment deleted by admin]

From Apskip 2. Quito 11/22 to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile If no or early tasks in Quito allows this, then Fly UIO to Panama City on COPA 210 0740 to 0925, then PTY to Santiago CM796 1138 to 1953, then catch last flight to Antofagasta LAN 376 2100 to 2255. Get a rental car to make up the extra 125 miles to Calama in about 2 hours and arrive about 9 hours ahead of the teams coming directly to Calama by air. For teams who can’t make this connection then the structure of flights from SCL to CJC means that there is no benefit to getting to SCL early. I expect that teams will try unnecessary connections through Bogota and elsewhere, but the simplest and most reasonable is TACA 028 UIO to LIM 1805 to 2010, then LACSA 651 LIM to SCL 2105 0225, then LAN 344 SJC to CJC 0640 to 0845. The part about dropping into Antofagasta now looks like part of the race, not just a way for one team to beat others to Calama! The arrival time of 22:55 is certainly consistent with the darkness of the Roadblock.

Who, Me? Does Chateau have a castle on the Rhine? OK, in Antofagasta, how about the Museo Historical Regional. Located in two buildings (1) a former Customs House on Av. Balmaceda, and (2) the former Maritime Government Building on Simon Bolivar 88. I could find no Museums directly on Paseo Pratt. Also nearby is the Chuquicamata Mina de Cobre. A possible site for the Detour. I don't care, I still luv Puddin

Here is my castle. It's a few miles off the coast of Marseille. The street is named after Arturo Prat so there is a spelling variation to keep in mind. And it is sometimes called a peatonal to designate it for foot traffic. I looked a little but have not come up with museums or banks either. This is Puddin's area of expertise. The mine we have been looking at is the closest one to Antofagasta

Can I come live with you Chateau ? I looked around a little in the Arturo Prat but am not going to kill myself trying to find the museum. I just wanted to know where it was I still thinks its an exhibit of sorts?

This would of course be the same Chilean Naval head Arturio Prat for whom the Naval Base Arturio Prat on Robert Island in the Chilean Antarctic is named. We can thank charlierose for that tidbit of information on an earlier posting.

Ah, Chateau, now I know where my Huguenot ancestors were inprisoned. But that was long, long ago so I won't hold it against you. But be careful, that Chateau is more of a prison than a romantic castle as is mine on the Rhine.
Would the Chuquicamata Mina de Cobre fit "a copper mine close to Antofagasta?"

Were we off or were we off on the "mystery museum" - 'twas no museum it was the lobby of the Codelco Copper mine company in Santiago, Chile!!!
We goofed that one, but we had the name of the mine, Chuquicamata in Calama right.
What kind of hours do those suits keep in Codelco? Board meetings going on at least after 2:30AM!
Typical TAR bunch up with all teams on the same flighj from Santiago to Calama.
Puddin's boot list holds true: Kevin and Drew gone. Drew didn't seem very happy about it. And they lost because they couldn't follow directions nor did they see the speed limit sign increase to 50kph.
Rob and Amber again! Odds will jump again this week, but if Puddin's list holds they say bye-bye in two weeks!

Wow i really hope spoilers are a little wrong and Ozzy and Danny will be in the final three [i cant even hope for Romber anymore because spoilers are so against it] but the BQ's and Charla and Mirna are really sucking at this race, geeze and i thought Danielle shouldn't have been a all star.
Eric was way annoying he is no Rob, lets face it.
Rob and Amber are rocking and have now broken two records, the first team to come in first on the first two legs of the race, and have now have the most first places, with 7, I count TBC's because it was a whole episode, and in their season they actually reached the mat. They do deserve the final three, and i still have my fingers cross "the list" is wrong, or at least i hope they can beat Teri and Ian!

What we saw were local actors dressed up as businessmen. I hope that got good money for playing the part of mannequins.

Cerro Alto is a construction company in Chile. Finning is a mining company in Chile.
