SLOWHATCH, I'm normally pretty quick on the uptake, but I am mystified by this:
"Not much luck with Lima or Panama. At least we can take comfort in the fact that they'll be taking off from LA again: runway 7L-25R"
You couldn't possibly mean Los Angeles for LA. What does LA mean? Could it mean that the runway marker in this picture is the same as one you are familiar with in Los Angeles even though this is not the Los Angeles International Airport?

He's just referring to that editor practice of splicing in aircraft footage from willy nilly locations.
For example, we see Colin & Cristie's plane take of from Paris in almost every season since.

While Rob and Amber are in the same clothes, and the seats look very similar (color and possible pattern), and ROb & Amber are seated on the same side of the plane.
In this shot (the one for this episode?), One of the Cha's (who is the taller thinner one Oswald?), is wearing what appears to be a white tea shirt.
In the first part of the first episode (to airport on plane, out of airport and to Pim's) he is wearing no white under shirt/tea shirt. But it is the clothes he wore for the next day in checking in to the Hacienda (well at elast a white tea shirt there.
So I vote a new shot of a different flight.

This shot was taken between 11:30 and 11:35 am (assumes November 21st). (Romber) The editors may try to generate some drama, but if Kevin/Drew are still fixing their ride (good way to mess up your back) during the daylight hours (assuming the cotopaxi region) then they're so far behind that they'll never be a factor in this leg. Amendment: it might be an 18 or 24 hour pitstop to prevent people from driving around the area in the dark. [attachment deleted by admin]

I wonder if Kevin & Drew can fix the flat tire during their mandatory rest period or if they must wait until they are racing again?

I don't think they will have to lift a finger. But Slowhatch raised a very good point with the dark driving concerns.

I think the website spells wrong: fall should be fail. In the AOL clue, they say "fail" http://tvshows.aol.com/show/the-amazing-race-all-stars/SH8977320000/main‘Beauty Is Sometimes Skin Deep’ One team's attempt to outsmart the competition fails when a chanced flight is delayed. Date: Sun., Feb. 25, 2007 Time: 8:00PM ------------------------------------------------- http://www.tv.com/the-amazing-race/show/6686/summary.html Next episode: Beauty Is Sometimes Skin Deep The ten remaining All-Star teams continue on in the second leg of the race. Many teams focus their attention on Rob and Amber following their first-place finish in the previous leg. Charla gets into an argument with the "Beauty Queens" Dustin and Kandice.

... aside from the obvious detour clue Mirna is holding ...it looks like Mary & David catch the same flight as Romber & The Cha's? along with maybe one more team..
**Racing to avoid elimination, four teams conduct a mad dash in 4x4's across the desert. Who will make it?
**On the way to the pitstop, one team misreads a clue and falls further behind. Is this the end for them?

I don't know...most of the South America museums I've looked at have a "colonial" style, while this place has a more modern urban look to it. Puddin may be right, it could just be a temporary exhibit somewhere. Whatever it is, it has "co" in the title (look above his head).
As in Banco? I'm having a hard time getting inside this building, lol. And now I'm thinking Romber is not the duo risking a flight.. it makes no sense since we see them on board with the Cha's and Rob is looking like he is looking at someone coming down the aisle and I think in the background I see Mary but am not sure? eta: this but am confused? I think, link , there are two Banco museums with the one I'm thinking of is the converted Bank. edited again to add, this is the place I'm thinking of. "Former 'Central bank of Ecuador' building - now a museum"

I will not give up the ship :kogs How about sailing the ship to Santiago? If the ranch departures are staggered so that driving is during daylight hours, and if the drive to Quito takes 3 or more hours, then racers probably won't reach Santiago until late evening.

SLOWHATCH, your math is impeccable, but your nautical approach will be jeopardized by a 2 hour overland sail to reach the coast of Ecuador. The teams could find this a bit daunting, followed by about 1400 miles at sea to ARICA, Chile, then 500 miles by car to CALAMA. I bet they decide to take the planes instead.
