PREVIOUSLY ON .. THE AMAZING RACE:

Phil: Eight teams left Hanoi for Halong Bay, Vietnam. Sarah faced her fears on a frightening roadblock. Peter wanted to quit; Sarah lashed back. Rob/Kimberly fought all the way to the front, finishing team #1. Tom/Terry, despite a valiant effort, were eliminated.

Now, seven teams remain. Who will be eliminated next?

Phil: This is Halong Bay, northern Vietnam, a stunning seascape of 3,000 islands; the fourth pitstop in a race around the world.

Rob/Kimberly, 1:47 am, CLUE: Fly to Chennai, India.
Phil: They'll take a train to Hanoi first; Viet regulations require purchasing air tickets at a travel agency.

Peter/Sarah, 2:17 am.
Sarah conf: Peter's not on a pedestal anymore, yadda, yadda ...

Tyler/James, conf about being "powerless" in the Race being no biggie because they've been "powerless" as addicts. Meh.

Teams take taxis ...

Erwin/Godwin, 2:28 am.
Conf: In it for the money!

David/Mary, 2:49.
David: I want this Race to get me out of the coal mine and take my kids to Disneyland!

Lyn/Karlyn 2:53 am.
Conf: Haven't been together this much since college.

Dustin/Kandice 3:46 am.
Conf: Last place means nobody can get in front of them.

Dustin/Kandice get there before Peter/Sarah.
Peter, entering late: I worried about you two.
Beauty Queens: WHY!?

David/Mary's cab is vishtunken, running very late.
The travel agent MOVED!
The backpack alliance is screwed!

Erwin/Godwin run their butts to another travel agent.

Different travel agents hook up the Racers.
Dustin: Gets in 12 tomorow?
Peter: Let's both get 'em.

Lyn/Karlyn get in at Noon via Bangkok.
Woman: I book this one for you.

David/Mary: You sure this is the fastest? Nobody can get there faster?
Woman: Yes.
Mary: Arrive 12 tomorrow in India.

Tyler/James will fly thru Singapore with Rob/Kimberly.
They seem to have secured an earlier arrival in India.
BUT ... Tickets are COMING BY MESSENGER! Bwah!
Yes! The Tyler/James/Rob/Kim tickets arrive 9:20 am.

Erwin/Godwin somehow get the same tickets, will arrive Chennai at 9:20 am.

The other teams seem to have later arrivals, Noon.

Messenger finally arrives with T/J/R/K tickets.

Flight just about to leave ...
In the airport, everyone realizes Erwin/Godwin got an earlier arrival in Chennai than the other members of the alliance.

Karlyn: Is there seats on your flight?
Erwin: You have to buy from a travel agency.
Mary: Gotta be a way around that!

Mary: Please help us! If you take us to Delhi, when will we get to Chennai?
Man: Reserved to Delhi but not confirmed to Chennai.
Mary: You want to take the risk?
Lyn: Yes. It's a gamble.

Peter, at restaurant: Mah ankle's hurtin! You see a burger king 'round here?
Polite laughter from Dustin/Kandice.

Erwin/Godwin tell Peter/Sarah and Beauty Queens they have the early flight.
Peter learns Kentucky and Alabama have unconfirmed seats, and they plan on keeping their confirmed Noon arrival.

Lyn conf: We need to make that connection.
David conf: If we get that connection in Delhi our alliance will be 1-2-3.

Teams arriving in Delhi try to get the earlier flight.
Peter to agent: Earlier tomorrow?
Man, to D/K: We have a flight leaves 40 minutes from now.
D/K haul ass toward the flight about to depart.

Peter pisses off Dustin by looking over her shoulder at her ticket.
After Peter gets the ticket, Sarah limps off to Gate 1.
Kandice; All bets are off now!
Peter: Too bad they weren't willing to share the information.

Tyler: Son of a bitch! (Sees Erwin, Alabama, Kentucky in Delhi.)
Lyn: Are there seats?
Ticket agent: Waiting list.

ON THE PLANE ...
Rob/Kimberly.
Tyler/James.
Erwin/Godwin.

In a crowd, David: I gotta get on that flight!

Lyn/Karlyn get last minute seats!

Mary: Please help us!
Agent: No room on the plane.

Plane takes off. Without. Kentucky. Still in the airport, looking very glum ...

D/K get in taxi to find a bus to Mamallapuram.
Sarah conf: The barbies are fierce competitors.
Peter to Sarah in cab: Ignore them.
Their cabbie appears to be lost.

Ow! Kimberly bumps her head on the trunk of the cab in too much of a hurry.
Tyler/James' taxi is lost.
Mary: We do NOT think we're in last.
David: Peter/Sarah and Queens should be behind us.
Caption over Mary's face: CURRENTLY IN LAST PLACE."

Arts shop "Back at 11:30 am."

Taxis wend their way through traffic.

Lyn/Karlyn "more comfortable" in India because people are sort-of fat like them!

DETOUR.
Wild things, or wild rice?
Phil: Things, make your way 9 miles to Madras crocodile bank, secure a large croc and transport it to a new pit.
Rice, make your way to a nearby temple, traditional design for reference, gather colored powder made from rice, and make a copy of the picture.

Bringing up the rear ...
Tyler/James, lagging behind, finally get on a bus.
David/Mary close behind them, getting on a diferent bus.

Dustin/Kandice's cab has a flat tire.
Peter: Dont' stop! GO! Flat tire for the Barbies!
Sarah: GO!

Sarah's limp is awful.
S conf: Blown hydraulics mean I can't be as quick.
Peter: COME ON!
S: I'm coming as fast as I can.
Peter tries wrap his cousin the croc's snout.
He gives the heavy rubber band to Sarah. She ties it. They lift the croc. Croc fights, tries to writhe away.

Eww ... filthy croc pens!
Peter: SARAH! COME ON!!
Sarah climbs the wall.
Peter: COME ON, Sister.
Sarah: Peter, ugh!

Beauty Queens have a croc.
He snaps. He lashes out.

Done with crocs ... Peter/Sarah, CLUE: Travel by bus to Chennai.
Phil: Karthik Driving School, next clue.
P: Sarah, run!
S: I can't!
Peter: We missed the bus.
Sarah, crying: I can't keep up with you. (BLEEPED!)
Peter: I will completely downshift. I won't try to win this race anymore. There's no inbetween to me.
Sarah: But we're a team. This isn't just about you. I'm not having fun with you, Peter. I'm not.

Dustin/Kandice take the croc ... the handlers let him go, and they run to where Peter/Sarah are still waiting.

Lyn/Karlyn and Erwin/Godwin want to look at the design nearby before dedciding on a Detour.

Erwin decides to do the hot, hot tiles.
Lyn: We gonna be here for a long, long time!

In cab, Kimberly: Is that a homeless cow?

L/K/E/G decide to abandon fingerpainting for crocs.
Rob/Kim finish crocs, now in 3rd place with their delay.

Man explains that there's a bus every half hour.
They are a little worried that the L/K/E/G alliance may finish crocs in time to make the bus.

E/G has an easier time with the croc than Lynnette has getting her butt over the wall containing the croc pits.
They finish in 4th and 5th.
Godwin: How long you been waiting for the bus, Rob?
Frowning, Rob: Forever, bro!

Phil: One member must take driver's ed, pass a driving test on the left side of the road for their Indian DL and the next clue.

The Cho brother isn't happy about driving, either, but they finish in 4th. L/K in 5th.

Phil: Rob/Kimberly, you're team #3.

David: Hurry up and we can still be in it.
Mary: I'm trying my best.

Phil: Erwin/Godwin, you're team #4.

Phil: Lyn/Karlyn, you're team #5.
Lyn: I don't see Dave and Mary.
Karlyn: I hope this is a non-elimination leg.

Phil: Tyler/James, you are team #6.
Both: Wow ... humbling.

DARKNESS FALLS.
Mary conf: When we got to the driving school, we knew we were in last. But David's strong, stubborn, and won't quit.

Man: Welcome to Chennai.
Phil: David/Mary, you're the last team to arrive. I'm pleased to tell you this is a NON-ELIMINATION LEG. Unlike in past races, you hold all possessions and money. But in the next leg, you will be MARKED FOR ELIMINATION. If you do NOT arrive FIRST in the next leg, you incur a 30 minute penalty during which other teams may check in and you could be eliminated.

Mary conf: It's ridiculously hard with the competition we got, but the kids are the reason we're trying to win the million dollars.

Finally, a great way to punish for a on elimination.

And tehy are smart enough to put the time penalty at the end of hte leg and not at the beginning when bunching will eat it all up.

ANy cahnce of a Fast Forward to give them another chance to vault past teh otehrs.
